Summary
Seven days of sales with skins being retired to the Legacy Vault and others returning from its depths. All retiring skins will move to the Legacy Vault on the 30th of August but it’s recommended to get them during their respective day sale.
Period: 21st to 27th of August, 2015
Overview
Not all of the retiring skins should leave and not all of the returning legacy skins are to be welcomed as much as others that stay in the Vault. Regardless, this is what we’ve got so we might as well make the best of it all. Below you’ll find the daily sale schedule with links to each review as well as prices and ratings for convenience. The skins’ discount, in all cases, is 50%.
21st of August
New Legacy:
Big Bad Warwick is a simple Red Riding Hood reference that isn’t as funny as it would like to be. Renekton fans may want to take a last look at Rune Wars and its Dominus particles; there’s better at its price but it has a unique style. Jaximus has a new quote as a tribute to a fan besides the gladiator style but it mostly fits the intended role.
Returning Legacy:
Masquerade is an attractive change of clothes for Evelynn. Longhorn is a funny choice for Alistar; though mostly in concept. Frozen mostly makes Shen blue but is effective at that with a bit more than a change of clothes.
22nd of August
New Legacy:
Explorer has the clothes but done in a simplistic way so Ezreal should search for better options. Prom Queen may seem a classy choice for Annie but the tween angle may not be such a good choice. Ashe fans, do not ignore the Queen and her elegantly animated skirt: it’s a wonderful re-model that oozes class.
Returning Legacy:
Spectacular Sivir has a charming super-heroine style with a uniquely styled boomerang. Amumu doesn’t convince with its timid Almost-Prom King execution; just a few clothes. The Magnificant Twisted Fate is a glorified re-model that is too expensive and should only be considered a passable option for fans of the Card Master when on sale and only then.
23rd of August
New Legacy:
The re-model offered by Vindicator is a modern take on Vayne’s Night Hunter fantasy that suits her reasonably well. Sun Goddess is an appealing Aztec-inspired skin with a unique style. Sadly, Guerilla offers too little to represent its concept; including orthography.
Returning Legacy:
Professor is an interesting albeit simple option for Ryze. However, Workshop is a fascinating re-model that would stand out with a little extra work. Unmasked Kayle is just her classic self without a helmet so there are alternatives that already offer that.
24th of August
New Legacy:
The Secret Agent turned Jessica Rabbit tribute remains an elegant choice for Miss Fortune. Jailbreak is a convoluted style for Graves. Sinful Succulence is s simple re-model that becomes special due to the concept and its lore significance.
Returning Legacy:
Modest but attractive Tempest is a fine option for Janna. Sabretusk is a good idea that isn’t elaborated enough so Sejuani ends up looking ready for the jungle but wielding the cold of the tundra. Nighmare Cho’Gath is a re-colour that is even simpler that Classic so, if you aren’t a collector, you are better avoiding it.
25th of August
New Legacy:
Fiddle Me Timbers is a charming pirate skin for Fiddlesticks that fans would enjoy. Defender Leona is a traditional protector style that carries all the weight of her responsibility very well and fans of the Radiant Dawn shouldn’t miss. Major Ziggs tries to be special but ends up feeling little more than a change of clothes; it’s not a bad uniform though.
Returning Legacy:
Hot Rod Corki does too little to even separate itself from Classic so only dedicated Bombardier fans may apply. Prototype Viktor is a draft of what he can become and the roughness of the implementation, while eloquent, isn’t very appealing. Desert Trooper is, essentially, green Garen as the Arabian style is too thin but there’s a bit of it which can appeal.
26th of August
New Legacy:
Sheriff Caitlyn shows its age and until a visual upgrade may still do so; which makes it a better choice for fans. Imperial Lux isn’t a bad military skin for Lux yet doesn’t do enough for its price; which is the real problem. Fans of Malphite shouldn’t miss his volcanic Obsidian skin which offers much more than model changes; it’s anyone’s wonder why it’s leaving as it only leaves expensive alternatives.
Returning Legacy:
Modest but unique is Highland Tryndamere with its distinct and realistic style. Muse Sona is only a re-model but a very good one which, despite its price, remains appealing. For a re-texture, Leopard is humble but visually interesting which means it’s an option worth considering for Nidalee.
27th of August
New Legacy:
Still the superior skin, ultimates aside, Primal Udyr may not be a set of four re-models but its changes are the most evocative and eloquent of his forms; its departure is a mystery for a champion of few remarkable options. In practice, Ruthless is He-Man tribute so unless you like the fantasy angle, or his boots, there’s little else of interest. Winged Hussar is a homage to the respective warriors that doesn’t convince in many areas but that seems acceptable enough.
Returning Legacy:
Stinger marks the return of Akali’s yellow suit so if you like the colour that’s all you get. There’s ample competition within Teemo’s cute skins and Badger is a simple option doesn’t do as much as others. Infiltrator Irelia is a disappointing skin that doesn’t communicate its sci-fi theme well; a future incarnation should try better.

Does returning legacy mean, they come back to game as regular?
Legacy means that they are usually removed from the store and only return under special circumstances like an even or a sale. You can find more information about the skin categories at the Guide to Legacy and Limited skins; it also lists all skins under either category.
