Introduction: Galaxy of Machines
“This world, this galaxy will be mine.” The machines stagger over the uneven terrain, who would’ve released countless energy discharges to flatten the planetary defences? She did and so there isn’t much world to conquer. Still, it’s hers now as and if there’s any survivors her machines will take care of them. It wasn’t always like this. This wasn’t even a war she started but, as it often is, it became something she had to end.
She remembers, sometimes when her mind drifts away from the conquest, her world. Lush and vibrant it was truly a paradise. Then the machines came and they turned it into a smoky factory with no life and only production. The few lucky ones managed to escape to other worlds but she wouldn’t let go of her home so easily. She went into the factory and reprogrammed a single machine under her command. More were reprogrammed and then even a production facility. Little by little, the planet-factory became her army.
Now she takes the war to the machines. In those worlds they have already erased of their vivid charm she lands and deploys her army. Each world becomes another factory, another link in the long chain of conquests that strengthen her army: directly towards the machines’ core world. She’s not alone, the galaxy is vast and full of allies but that’s why she seldom meets them. There’s just too much terrain to cover and the machines seem to be everywhere. Enough reminiscing, it’s time to finalise this world and start the factory production. The machines don’t wait a second and she can’t afford to lose time either. Besides, she has an appointment to report on her sector’s progress. It’d be a pity to miss finally meeting some friendly, organic faces.
