Introduction: Inner Warmth
The crowd roared, the stage lit and she couldn’t get in. She had lost her ticket so, wrapped in her warm fur coat and hugging her teddy bear she stood in front of the kaleidoscopic stadium. The lights centred on the stage and a dancer appeared. She twirled and swirled across the stage, fading in and out of view, as if the coloured lights were cascades. It wasn’t what the crowd expected and it was beautiful. An overwhelming expectation crawled through the audience. If this was the introduction then when the main star appeared it’ll be something impossible to believe. Outside, the girl could only see spotlights move.
She walked away in disappointment. She reached the square and sat down in a bench. The breeze was soft but chilling and her hood reached as far as it could to cover her head. Looking up she noticed a large shadow bouncing around a smaller one. The invariable power of her curiosity made her forget the concert and the cold to approach, stealthily, the duo. The lampposts cast a weak light over the bench but she could discern a woman sat down with her head low and another fuming at the mouth in front of her.
Then she heard the word that propelled her forward. She launched like a rocket towards one of the figures and hugged her strongly to the point that the target had to straighten up to figure the source of that downpour of energy. The large figure had barely reacted and was now looking at the best way of dislodging another fan from her client. However, she noticed that it would be more difficult than anticipated as there was a double lock to beat. Star and fan held each other for quite a few minutes; enough to make the weary bodyguard take a seat, accommodate herself comfortably and then calmly assess the new figure.
Words were exchanged but they weren’t relevant, actions were. The super-star rose from the bench with a brightness she had seldom shown. She grabbed her little fan by the hand and nodded to her protective friend. They walked the few blocks to the stadium together and went in. It was said that she sang like a mythical siren and that she danced like a butterfly in full flight. Those who attended still remember to this day the stirring power displayed on that stage. It wasn’t to be the only time. It’s said that someone had reached into the star’s heart and left a little flame burning in there; that had changed her forever. Fans were more than grateful for it. The star’s friends were alleviated and happy. The star, her bodyguard friend and her new little fan friend were simply inseparable.
