Introduction: Fury of Blood
A Moon painted red can have some unexpected effects on certain people. There’s no doubt that for the general populace it’s a time to lock doors and windows and let the blood demons roam the streets. It’s no time for bravery or heroes: they only become victims. But the red. That tone can elicit a certain effect on people that not even the most potent totems or amulets can dispel. It’s like a curse that makes the blood boil and then everything becomes red, either by light or by hand.
It happened one night when the blood demons were enjoying themselves as usual. They found amusing to scare the drunkards that came out of a specific public house. As they toyed with them and their remains they failed to notice that they weren’t the only predators in this night. A particular and very peculiar warrior had tried to drown his sorrows in alcohol to no avail; his body simply resisted to give up. When he went out of the pub the demons encircled him with promises ofr a power he didn’t need and knowledge he already had. So, they grew impatient.
Seeing the warrior as a challenge they thought he would make for good practice of their dark abilities. The problem was that the warrior couldn’t pay attention to them. His eyes were fixed on the red Moon, his blood pumping through his veins and his grip tightening on the serrated blade he carried. It was that night that the demons received a lesson they didn’t really learn. Some say that the masks and elaborate attire they wear are to conceal the scars the warrior’s rage left on their faces and bodies. Who knows for sure? But it’s true that when that warrior goes out it’s them who seek refuge.
