Introduction: Wrath of the Frost Queen
The Frost Queen commands and the gale responds. The marauders run in desperation faced with a blizzard of such proportions they have never felt. The mountains moan under the pressure while anything made or born freezes into nothingness. Only a lunatic would face such an end with a smile but there’s always one. A mad Hatter, in a vain effort to protect his workshop, throws boxes to the wind but the gusts disperse them like flies. The Jacks trapped in the boxes disintegrate against the first surface they meet. How long can this nightmare last?
Not long, fortunately. In a few moments the lands return to an unrecognizable calm. Life is silent or simply absent, crushed by the power of a wronged nature. There’s no sign of the Frost Queen in the barren lands covered in snow. The frosted surfaces repeat the likeness of the survivors. The new power lines lay on the ice that covers the ground and their towers look twisted as if discarded by an infant after a rough play session. It’s redundant to mention that the just opened Arcade venue is devoid of life.
What isn’t obvious is that a girl emerges from the Arcade and heals the injured with pixellated beams and chiptunes. A cautious dose of optimism returns to the people and together they clear the streets. No one gets cold as hats aren’t lacking in supplies with the merry Hatter distributing them, passing by with funny steps. With effort the town gets itself back on its feet. It will be better prepared for the next time it has to face the Frost Queen’s wrath.
