Summary
Period: 20th to 27th of May, 2015
Bundles: Champion Catch-up, Roboticized and Support from the Depths
Note: the bundles include the respective champions and reduce their prices depending on which content you already own. In case you don’t own a champion or skin in a bundle the price rises by the appropriate price.
Recent champions, robots and support from the seas are what the three May bundles offer. The discounts aren’t particularly attractive and many of the skins have already gone through a regular sale. Still, it’s worth taking a look to see what we can find.
Overview
Champion Catch-up
Discount: 30%
Total Price: 10119 -> 7083 RP
Skins’ Price: 5247 -> 3673 RP
The five most recent champions along their release skins are what this bundle offers. The skins are, for the most part, good so it’s an option for someone that can’t wait for the skins to reach a regular sale. The 30% discount doesn’t compare to 50% but is better than nothing. Considering that amount of skins the 20% difference adds up to a good amount of RP in the end. It’s advisable to wait so as to save RP but if you can’t then the bundle is your best option.
Roboticized Bundle
Discount: 40%
Total Price: 8120 -> 4872 RP
Skins’ Price: 4800 -> 2880 RP
While Blade Mistress Morgana is the more modest of the skins that doesn’t mean that is the low point of the bundle. In fact, it’s quite a nice skin even if it has little in common with robots. Creator Viktor is actually the skin that, while good, isn’t up to par with the others; thanks to a game-play upgrade that reused all its particles.
Ultimately, none of the skins is bad but, except for Battlecast Kog’Maw, they have been discounted before. Therefore, while a 40% discount isn’t bad 50% is certainly better; RP expenses accumulate fast. So, if you can’t wait for Battlecast Kog’Maw and missed the others skins on sale this could be a way of catching up but you’ll be spending 10% more.
Support from the Depths
Discount: 30%
Total Price: 5846 -> 4092 RP
Skins’ Price: 2923 -> 2046 RP
This set of support champions with a water-based skin by their side goes from better to worse. Granted, there isn’t any skin that is actually bad but Abyssal Nautilus only offers a re-model while the others go well beyond that. Besides, the 30% discount isn’t particularly generous and only River Spirit Nami hasn’t been on sale before; but definitely will in the future. Thus, unless you just can’t wait it’s better to rely on regular sales.
