League of Legends: Singed Skins’ Review – StrategyZero
Feb 282013

Singed, the Mad Chemist
Singed, the Mad Chemist

Singed, the Mad Chemist has a peculiar way of fighting his enemies, something that his skins ignore for the most part. Regardless, there are still a few interesting concepts that suit his unique ingenuity. If you are going to be chased don’t forget two things: leave a poison trail and check his skins’ review to scamper with style.

Riot Squad Singed
Riot Squad Singed Splash Art Riot Squad Singed Model
Category: Promotional
Price: 975 RP
Concept: Singed as a riot policeman.
Model: Moderate model changes for Singed plus new model for his shield and canisters.
Particles: New colour for Poison Trail.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: The left side of this piece is simply nothing, all the action takes place on the remaining two-thirds. The background is a mess of brush strokes: in the middle some sort of building and a few flames are hinted. Singed’s depiction is correct: good proportions, adequate lines and passable shading; though some parts are rather diffuse. All in all, a splash art that is useful but isn’t actually good.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Riot Squad Singed is a rather reasonable look for Singed that is effective at adapting his bulwark but forces other elements into Singed’s whimsical, classic style. The policeman look is quite nice with a fitting gas mask and reasonable gear. Unfortunately, the grenades are a stretch; especially the large one. As they always end up bursting with chemicals they look like capriciously designed flasks. Still, the new poison trail colour helps give the skin an identity so that it manages to stand out a bit. Overall, it’s a nice skin with a somewhat forceful implementation but appealing in the end.

Hextech Singed
Hextech Singed Splash Art Hextech Singed Model
Category: Regular
Price: 520 RP
Concept: Singed as a steampunk chemist.
Model: Moderate model changes for Singed plus new model for his shield and canisters.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: With a deep and firm green base the background gives an idea of a smog-covered and advanced city that progresses through pollution. The idea is good but maybe carried too far as Singed also appears surrounded and a bit covered by fumes; fumes that should be around his back-canister instead of the shield. His stance is dynamic but obscures part of his body. The lines are clear and his clothes detailed though the colours are quite saturated. The portrayal is good, not perfectly faithful but reasonably so, yet as he’s standing alone it seems like a mere pose. On the whole, the splash art tries to put Singed into context with a vision of his native Zaun. The concept is good but the execution could’ve been better. Therefore, it’s a well thought out piece that is interesting yet would welcome some improvement.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Hextech Singed is a steampunk re-interpretation of Singed with its ups and downs. On the bright side, the wood and metal gear gives an antique aesthetic that is rather eye-catching. Conversely, the design is a bit exaggerated: the serrated blade on the bulwark and the convoluted container on the back aren’t, ultimately, of much use; just decoration. Still, in general the skin remains original despite its idiosyncrasies and accomplishes an air of technological advancement. If you’d like something different that keeps the mad chemist feel then Hextech Singed is a good choice.

Surfer Singed
Surfer Singed Splash Art Surfer Singed Model
Category: Regular
Price: 975 RP
Concept: Singed as a surfer covered in bandages.
Model: Major model changes for Singed plus new model for his shield and canisters.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: A peaceful beach to rest along a good drink isn’t a bad idea. While it looks a bit empty and roughly shaded it’s an acceptable depiction and fitting setting. Singed looks rather comical in this case which makes the perspective, with exaggerated size for his feet, a nice touch. The shading is a bit sketchy like the background and the colours don’t match those used in-game in all cases. Regardless, it’s a splash art that works, not perfectly, but on the whole.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Surfer Singed is a skin that tries to be funny and while it has a few clever winks it largely isn’t effective. The good parts are few: the SPF of 3 in Taric’s lotion speaks for the quality of his products, the board brand is a nice reference to Bilgewater and the glass has quite an elaborate design. Regardless, the idea of having a scarred chemist at the beach looking like a mummy doesn’t stay funny for long. From the wig to the large flip-flops the intent is evident but it remains that. In general, it’s a skin with a certainly peculiar attractiveness but not really that funny.

Mad Scientist Singed
Mad Scientist Singed Splash Art Mad Scientist Singed Model
Category: Legacy
Price: 750 RP
Concept: Singed dressed as a classic mad scientist.
Model: New model for Singed, his shield and canisters.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: The background aims to show a laboratory filled with chemical ingenuity but instead we get a blurry industrial complex. The test tubes connected to some device seem whimsical and the wagon passing for table, where Singed works, feels ill suited. Conversely, even though not much is shown of him, Singed looks great. The lines and shading work well to bring to life a demented scientist only concerned with his experimentations. Although mixing chemicals on a bare table is an exaggeration the liquid splashes are eye-catching despite looking a bit too solid. Overall, it’s quite an impressive portrayal but in general a disappointing splash art.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Mad Scientist Singed is a more traditional take on the mad chemist that, even if imperfect, manages to streamline the best parts of the theme. The large test tubes on the back and inexplicable bulwark are necessary sacrifices to achieve the result. However, the patched tunic, filled tool belt including some strange choices for a chemist and lunatic visage manage a great look. Unfortunately, some things aren’t as good as they could: neither the colour of the Erlenmeyer flask or gigantic test tubes’ content match that of his Mega Adhesive, Poison Trail and Insanity Potion; respectively. All things considered, Mad Scientist Singed is a pleasing skin that delivers an appealing and classic concept.

Augmented Singed
Augmented Singed Splash Art Augmented Singed Model
Category: Regular
Price: 975 RP
Concept: Singed as a chemically-enhanced warrior.
Model: New model for Singed, his shield and canisters.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: Adapted run animation.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: In the background, the polluting factories of a city mark its obsession with progress. Everything looks like a silhouette and not even lightning seems to be able to change that. Therefore, it should be no surprise that the effect of the rain is practically invisible. Singed appears running and leaving his classic poison trail behind. The stance is great to show his look and also adds dynamism to the piece; but as he leans so much parts of his body end up concealed. Nevertheless, Singed doesn’t ignore the weather, for the most part: his body shines under the lightning flash while the drops explode on a few surfaces. The shading is very well done, especially the metal, but the cloth seems a little drab. Additionally, his arm looks weird as it seems to lack biceps and the skin colour reminds of wax. All things considered, it’s an interesting and attractive splash art, with some flaws, but good nonetheless.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: A chemically improved fighter is nothing new but Augmented Singed’s choices attain a distinct look; along a not too subtle Bane reference. What is there to see it’s located from the waist up and there’s a lot: the gear seems rather practical despite its complexity as the design seems reasonable for infusing a serum directly to a human body. There certainly is a layer of visual flair but it’s kept at a logical level. In particular, there’s some inevitable decoration but the aesthetic is effective at communicating power through technology. In the end, the look is rather interesting even if it doesn’t astound. Therefore, if you’d like a serious aspect with a layer of modernism then Augmented Singed is a great option.

Snow Day Singed
Snow Day Singed Splash Art Snow Day Singed Model
Category: Legacy
Price: 975 RP
Concept: Singed enjoying a day in the snow.
Model: New model for Singed, his shield and canisters.
Particles: New particles for his Portablizzard backpack and abilities.
Animations: New animation for his Portablizzard backpack and recall.
Sounds: New sounds for Poison Trail, Mega Adhesive, Insanity Potion and recall.
Splash Art: The blurry background barely allows the setting to be seen. There are trees, snow, a burrowed yordle and a flying Ziggs but it seems rather empty while the yordles stand as mere decoration. Singed’s charge is evident but also feels unnecessary. His clothes appear a bit dull as the surfaces look flat due to the shading and his face is also peculiar as it might be too sinister for the context. Singed may be far from a good-natured chemist but his visage seems exaggerated. When taken as a whole, the piece manages to depict Singed in his snow day gear but doesn’t go beyond that. It tries to fit him in a relevant place but the unlinked elements are nothing more than a frame.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Snow Day Singed is a skin with a clear funny vein but, fortunately, it’s more than that. It also gives a plausible idea of how a person would ready to spend a day on the snow. There is a certain degree of mad genius at work but it all, forcefully, adds up to be more than a mere joke. The clothes and snow gear are reasonable and while they might seem a bit flat when inspected they fulfil their role well. Thus, when the snow particles and sounds are added the skin comes to life with a consistent and distinct style. The abilities’ adaptation is functional with a distinct feel but without breaking new ground.
Therefore, it’s a very good skin but not perfect: the rackets seem unnecessary, the colour palette could’ve been more varied and brighter while the abilities are rather conservative. Regardless, Snow Day Singed does what it sets out to even if in a convoluted way. It has some rough edges, which are more than just apparent, but in general it’s a great skin for the Mad Chemist.

Samsung White Singed
Samsung White Singed Splash Art Samsung White Singed Model
Category: Legacy
Price: 750 RP
Concept: Singed wearing modern, casual clothing, a logo shield and a trophy on the back.
Model: New model for Singed, his shield and canisters.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: This is a straightforward splash art that sets out to portray the champions in a simple but dynamic way. It’s effective but that’s all that can be said about it. The background is, apparently, a patch of sky mixed with Samsung White’s logo. The logo is understandable but it receives too much emphasis, mainly because there’s no setting.
The champions all appear in daring action but they are only posing. Their stances hardly tell anything related to their personalities and merely appear for show. They seem to share the piece with unequal levels of importance though they all have their place. That means that for some it’s easier to get an idea of their new look than it is for others.
All things considered, this is the corollary of what previous shared splash arts have announced. This minimalist or even simplistic approach manages to present the champions in their new look with uneven success. It may be a serviceable splash art but it’s also plain.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Samsung White Singed is a serviceable skin. It dresses the Mad Chemist with casual clothes, gives him a trophy for his back and a shield shaped like SSW’s logo. It’s an unapologetic tribute to SSW and nothing more. As such if you aren’t interested in tournaments or, more specifically, in this particular team then there won’t be much to like.
The main issue is that the sum of elements doesn’t end up in an appealing aesthetic. The skin is so centred in the tribute that it skips making the style interesting for a general audience. Therefore, despite being a full re-model at a reasonable price the result feels shallow.
In conclusion, if you are a fan of SSW then Samsung White Singed is a skin that has something to offer. If you aren’t then, sadly, there is nothing to see here.

Black Scourge Singed
Black Scourge Singed Splash Art Black Scourge Singed Model
Category: Regular
Price: 750 RP
Concept: Singed as an aristocratic plague doctor.
Model: New model for Singed, his shield and canisters.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: This is a piece that has a distinct style thanks to its coloured lithographic print aesthetic. A closer look reveals that the three subjects seem to acquire colour progressively; perhaps through some mystic process. The result means that the background doesn’t really present a setting. It does, however, give context to the illustration in an evocative manner.
The shading on each champion is soft enough that stands closer to watercolour than oil. The detailed highlights and shadows, the effective transitions to sketch form and the sensible distribution in the piece lets each champion stand out; without ignoring either their personality or their new identity. Whereas Nocturne appears eerily supernatural, Kayle looks penitent in her divinity and Singed practical and ready. Each champion reflects themselves but also appears as different parts of a cohesive whole; perhaps as if they were horsemen of an apocalypse.
Thanks to such a clever presentation, exquisite quality and unique style this is a piece that grabs attention and doesn’t let go. In technical terms, half of it is a draft and the other half only a trio of partial portrayals. However, each element conspires with the others to reveal the different facets of the piece. This makes it a splash art that transcends its limitations by far and clearly stands as one of League of Legends’ best pieces.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: The eloquent yet stylized adaptation of the Mad Chemist to a plague doctor makes Black Scourge Singed a skin with a distinct personality. There’s an evident degree of stylization that modifies the traditional costume from a waxed overcoat into a fancy, short coat with golden terminations and a hat that also receives golden decoration. This brief protection allows trousers and boots to reveal their simple base and gold ornaments. The dose of style makes the look more aristocratic and fictional but there’s enough to present the theme within the realms of what is believable; at least in a fantasy realm. The beaked mask actually becomes the most iconic and familiar element as well as what paints the clearer picture. A syringe in hand seems odd as plague doctors would rely on bloodletting and other methods to balance humours.
A giant shield as a way of protection becomes completely unnecessary as a plague doctor’s reputation preceded them and people would logically shun them; lest disease spread. In any case, they relied on a wooden cane to keep people away. However, it could be a complex, cumbersome and maybe even exaggerated icon from an order the doctor represents. It also seems to fit as the lavishly ornamented lid of something particular. The small corpse in the open coffin is what’s left to consider. Not only does it becomes the sensible source of his Poison Trail but makes his entire concept ironic: instead of being an agent to stop a plague he spreads it. Given that a plague would require the use of mass graves to deal with the corpses due to contagion numbers it’s particularly strange to find a doctor carrying a single corpse. If he were to do so, it would be promptly thrown into a cart leading to a plague pit and this could be the specific instance; despite the carrying method being unconventional.
Overall, there’s an evident fantastic take on a plague doctor with some steampunk touches. The transformation is quite good though and manages to effectively adapt Singed’s specific features to sensible elements corresponding to a plague doctor. In spite of the stylization, the concept comes through and the result is nothing short of attractive. Fans of the Mad Chemist will find that Black Scourge Singed is a great choice.

Beekeeper Singed
Beekeeper Singed Splash Art Beekeeper Singed Model
Category: Regular
Price: 1350 RP
Concept: Singed as a bee-based apiarist.
Model: New model for Singed.
Particles: New particles for his abilities, auto-attack and recall.
Animations: New recall animation.
Sounds: New sounds for his abilities, auto-attack and recall.
Splash Art: Diffuse city streets with some bystanders running in fear but, is it because of the bees or the mess of honey they get subjected to? Probably a bit of both but there isn’t much to get into specifics. There’re only a couple persons on the left so streets feel empty. The architecture isn’t easy to see either so it can be guessed that it’s a good neighbourhood because everything is clean or perhaps there isn’t much to see because details are omitted. The swarms of bees look like swirls of soil. Sure, the few large, blurry bees around and the figure in the centre explain what the swirls really are. However, without them, it’s not so obvious.
Singed rushes in the centre of this madness and he seems a rather unusual beekeeper. The gelatinous honey on the honeycomb shield easily catches the eye. Although honey looks a bit too solid it also seems delicious and makes for quite a striking and mouth-watering display that is never echoed in-game. The suit receives good shading and soft colours which tend to be more acceptable than impressive. The hat and veil follow suit but, strangely, it’s an area that can seem sketchier than the surroundings. The hive looks like made of bread and the pot of honey on the left hand appears glassy and the honey too liquid and cartoony. All this many approaches leave an uneven feel on the portrayal that detracts a bit from the experience.
All added together, the idea of a crazy beekeeper that is more attuned to bees and honey than sanity would demand doesn’t really come through in the piece. The background offers context for his appearance but doesn’t support the message much. The portrayal has good elements but, honey-filled shield aside, there’s nothing remarkable. As a spotlight for Singed and his new passion it works but it’s disappointing that the idea behind the skin isn’t well communicated.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: The initial impression given by Beekeeper Singed is usually of an apiarist. However, it doesn’t take long to see that the skin has more in common with a Looney Tunes take on beekeeping. There’s a cartoony, zany approach to the discipline that is already noticed in the model. The clothing, suit, hat, veil, is all rather believable and practical. The pot on the hand could mean that Singed’s just collected some honey. The large honeycomb shield dripping honey is clearly preposterous and the hive on the back just as much. There’s also a little, brown smoke coming out of the hive that is, at least initially, puzzling. Overall, more than beekeeper, Singed looks like a honey maniac.
Particles are an excess of honey and bee references for the most part. Noxious Slipstream shows bee wings on Singed which shows the theme but seems rather derivative. Poison Trail releases a brown smoke that doesn’t bear much relation to anything seen in either actual beekeeping or the honey-based approach taken. If it were smoke used as protection against bees it would be understandable but it doesn’t look like it at all. The sparse swarm of bees in the trail is a better touch that doesn’t feel deadly enough. In the rest of abilities, honey is involved as a major element to the point of making the skills bad jokes around it. Mega Adhesive is a splash honey, the honeycomb pattern underneath is nice though, Fling is made spreading honey and even Insanity Potion spills honey so that abilities feel monotonous. It’s as if the same joke is being repeated until it’s actually funny but as a squandering of honey there’s only so much fun that can be had with it. On top of that, Insanity Potion spills a rather measured amount of honey so that aside from Singed’s glow there’s nothing else to see. As an ultimate, there’s little doubt that it feels lacklustre and weak.
Sounds try to support the visuals with various spillings of honey. Regardless, they seem too liquid and not viscous enough. In fact, it gives the impression of coloured water instead of actual honey which ends up detracting from the proposed theme. Poison Trail is the exception as honey isn’t involved. Instead, the familiar buzz of bees is used which is rather nice even if predictable. Still, it may make for the most memorable sound given the monotony heard in the rest of abilities.
Continuing with the zany joking around bees the recall might intend to give some explanation to Singed’s fixation with honey. Being a disguised bee himself it would explain even the wings from the passive. Still, it seem more like a justification of a series of identical jokes more than an appealing play on the nature of the skin.
Truth be told, the idea of Beekeeper Singed, in theory, is rather good. Imagine Poison Trail as the smoke from an actual smoker. Mega Adhesive could employ honeycomb wax, Fling could tumble frame hives and Insanity Potion could see Singed chased by a large swarm of mad bees. Comedy is possible but instead there’s a complete overuse of honey to the point that the substance loses meaning. It’s there, regardless of suitability or meaning because Singed is mad about it; as a bee would be. The pretence has potential but is never exploited. So, the skin results in a series of bad jokes about honey that don’t add up to much more than a travesty of zany, cartoon fun.

Conclusion

Singed’s skins don’t always manage to make the most of his chemicals or unique mind but there are some nice alternatives. Mad Scientist and Augmented Singed are the recommended skins as they not only develop his natural affinity for experimentation but they also ground it with some interesting and appealing concepts. Augmented isn’t as iconic as the classic concept used for Mad Scientist yet it’s an interesting, modern take on the Mad Chemist. Also worth recommending is the distinct style of Black Scourge.

Exhibiting an effective albeit stylized adaptation into a plague doctor we find that Black Scourge Singed is an attractive skin. It presents a fantastical transformation but one that suffices well enough for a fantasy setting. This allows the skin to be believable and appealing despite the concessions made. All in all, it’s a great choice for fans of the Mad Chemist.

When available, Snow Day Singed is a skin that shouldn’t be ignored. Snow Day also follows the funny path but manages to be more than a temporary joke. In spite of a convoluted adaptation it has a unique identity with eye-catching particles and distinct sounds. If you can accept its imperfections it’s quite a good choice for the Mad Chemist.

Additionally, Hextech Singed is a unique steampunk option that will please fans of Singed and may even attract those that like something with a flair of antiquity. Sadly, Surfer Singed is a skin that seems like a good joke but that isn’t that funny in the end. It may appeal to you if you want something decidedly not serious but that’s about it.

Riot Squad Singed may be a good skin to catch for the new Poison Trail colour and passable policeman adaptation. Still, it’s not such an accomplishment so as to make it irresistible; except for collectors.

Samsung White Singed is a skin for fans of SSW. The skin is completely centred on paying homage to them and nothing else. Therefore, it’s a skin for fans and the rest can only watch and wonder at its appeal; or lack thereof.

Beekeeper Singed has potential to be a fun, comedic take on apiculture. Instead, it’s a series of bad jokes joined together by an overuse of honey without much rhyme or reason. The zany comedy it intends is never effective as there’s too much repetition and little sense; even a crazy sense to it all. Sadly, while it could be a good skin flaws do add up.

  1. augmented singed has new green trail isn’t he

  2. Could you review Zilean? I want to know if Shurima Desert is worth getting and if Groovy is just plain dumb. Haha

    • Sure, Zilean added to the list; we shouldn’t have armoured bears freely roaming the reviews without a zealous watcher.

Shurima Desert seems like the skin that innovates the most with Zilean’s look; though it still retains a lot of his classic style. Besides, Groovy sure looks feistily polychromatic; nothing like flower-power and good vibes to win a battle.

  3. Thanks for the prompt Victorious Morgana review! I couldn’t have agreed more xD Think it’s time to update singed’s skins too though. I feel like augmented took a step down while the rest and mad scientist in particular got a lot better. Mad scientist’s shield and design really stand out to me now

    • Maybe, we didn’t feel the differences were that significant. In Mad Scientist’s case the real star is the lab coat. Augmented simply got a layer of polish, apparently. Truth be told, it seems like the base was kept and there was just some superficial refinement for Singed skins.

  4. Charred Maokai has new particles for when throwing the sapling

  5. SSW Singed has little white particles in his Q.

  6. So I looked up some videos of Augmented skin, and noticed that Singed does have a new particle for his ultimate. Instead of chemicals running through his mouth, the container at his back spray out liquid, as if it’s about to burst. Also, not sure if his flip animation is new or it’s just because of his model.

    • Btw, somebody said the poison trail is seen as purple if you’re on the enemy team. Can you kindly confirm if it’s true? If it is, then at least the liquid color in Mad Scientist is accurate.

      • That happends for all skins and for many champions abilities. It’s to enable Singed’s Poision Trai as well as Morgana’s Tormened Soil, among others, to be easily identifiable with regards to which team’s it belongs to.

    • We checked to make sure and Fling has the same animation on both Classic and Augmented Singed. Also we didn’t notice much of a difference in Insanity Potion between both skins. In both cases chemicals sprout from the container on his back. In Augmented there are no chemicals on his mouth but we don’t see that as a feature. At any rate it’s could be an inconsistency as some skins have him foaming at the mouth and others not; despite of it being covered in all his skins. Regardless, it’s good to know as it could be something relevant in future skins. Thanks for pointing it out.

      • Oh, nevermind then. Yah it seems that the spraying is just being misplaced as Singed runs. Looks awesome though for a visual glitch, having a chemical fountain as you run around during Insanity Potion.

        • If we aren’t mistaken it used to be like that for Classic Singed. That is, chemicals at the mouth but also a bursting canister on his back. Don’t know why any of it was changed or if it’s intentional. Perhaps it was never so good but the idea of Singed running around as his famous potions go out of control seems quite good.

  7. I personally enjoy surfer singed the most (actually Samsung white but I don’t have it ; ( ). The reason for that is not the wig or the sunglasses. Basic what annoyed me most about singed where his shield and the little bomb in his hands witch never rly had any use. Here he has the surfboard under his arms so it dosnt look that much like a shield (and it looks like he’s on his way to the beach oh yea :3 ) and the useless bomb is replaced with a nice cold drink if whatever it might be ;). I enjoy playing this skin a lot. Sadly it tyres to be forced funny witch ruins it a little bit. Specially his ult green particles really don’t fit him at that point. Though out of my perspective I would give surfer singed 3 stars but hey I’m not the awesome skin reviewer 😀 just thought I might leave my thoughts on that skin here. For all true hearted singed fans I personally recommend surfer singed.
    regards Paratela 🙂

    • Also one could argue that his wife comes out of the bottle in his hand but as far as I see it that bottle is green and not white O.O

    • Our main problem with Sufer Singed is that it’s not a skin for 975 RP. It only has model changes and not even a whole new model. We understand that it has its charm but the price should be lower.

Looking at the animations in his abilities in LolKing’s model viewer his abilities make use of his hand-bomb. It’s a bit subtle in the heat of battle but the visual upgrade tried to give some sense to it; at least.

      • I don’t get it, did they forget to change Surfer and Augmented to 750? They’re clearly not for the 975 tag. I bet they just forgot or nobody is interested enough

        • It happens with many, of not most, of the old remodels at 975 RP. The current price for remodels is 750 RP but there’re a lot of skins, even after visual upgrades that remain at a price that isn’t really fitting. Who knows the real reason but there’re a lot of obsolete price tags.

  8. Hello,

    nice website,

the Black Scourge Singed “shield” is the coffin top.

English is not my mother tongue, so maybe you said it ^_^

  9. Can’t help but notice you didn’t mention that Snow Day Singed has new sounds when he uses Poison Trail.

  10. “Mad Scientist and Augmented Singed are the recommended skins ” but Snow Day, Mad Scientist, and Black Scourge have the highest rating, all 4 stars with Augmented 3. Is this intended?

    • Yes, because in the conclusion we tend to recommend skins that don’t have restricted availability like legacy skins. We still mention legacy skins, we didn’t use to, for the times when they are available. Regardless, the idea is to have a quick summary of the best skins that can be got at any time.

  11. Surfer, Black Scourge and Mad Chemist have 4 stars. Recommended skins, Mad Chemist and Augmented, with Augmented only having 3 stars. Should Surfer, Chemist and Scourge be recommended or should Augmented have 4 stars?

    • Surfer has two stars so that’s not to be considered. However, Black Scourge should be added to the recommendations as it’s a rather good skin. We should also note that Augmented is recommended despite the lower rating. Thanks for the notice.

  12. Will you email riot and tell them to buff singed? They won’t listen to us singed mains but you have connections right?

    • Sorry but we are common players at the same level as any other. We don’t have any contacts with or affiliation to Riot. Your best bet is to post on the LoL boards and try to garner attention and upvotes there.

      • It sounds like someone didn’t want to blow their cover as a riot employee that can buff any champion at any time, wp.

        • If we had such connections we’d make sure that skins are released being impressive embodiments of their concepts. That may make the reviews redundant but it’ll ensure that you can buy whatever you like because every skin is good.

We could also buff a few relegated champions to make them more popular. They could receive more and better skins and be more fun to play with. We would certainly make sure that upgrades respect the meaning of the word; which isn’t always the case. Truth be told, if we had such power there’s a lot we could do.

Ultimate power: think of the possibilities!

  13. Surfer singed has a distinct poison trail colour too!

  14. Can We buy hextech singed in 2018, I love the retro style, thank for the answer 😉

    • We just checked in the store and it’s not available. Previously, there was a yearly sale of legacy skins but nowadays it’s necessary to wait for a special event. Sometimes they appear in a bundle but it’s rare and also has the disadvantage of having to buy other skins. For the time being, the only option is to wait. Singed seems like he could use a visual update and afterwards his legacy skins should be available for purchase for a limited time.

  15. Augmented Singed has a new walking animation, no?

    • To be precise there are some small changes noticeable in a side by side comparison. The most notorious is how Singed moves his left arm. The canister on his back also has a different sway but it’s not significant enough to call it a new animation. It’s probably more of an adapted animation to the new model or a few changes to make the model look better in motion. Still, it’s a change we didn’t notice and worth noting in the review, thanks.
