Introduction: Galactic Shift
The night sky is spotted with stars and like a homogenous mantle spreads all over the city. There’s no Moon to be seen but there’s been enough madness under her light. It always happens: full Moon equals extra shifts. Someone has to keep watch and last time it was her. Fortunately she did get some days off before resuming her work yet she felt a bit tired still. With such a quiet and peaceful night she almost felt drowsy but steeled herself. She poured some more coffee and, reclining on her seat, watched the planet from the Galactic Station.
It made her think, though. There had been a lot going on lately and the team had been worn out by the attacks of intergalactic beings. One even tried to steal the Moon. Sure, she tended to cause some havoc but one thing was the Moon being mischievous and another was to give her up. That wasn’t going to happen. In her own words: “Not if I’m around.” It did sound like a cliché but her track record was clear enough. She was always ready for action and tonight was no different. Still, she was grateful for the calm night.
That also reminded her of her time travelling around the Solar System. She smirked, for a moment she felt old. So much reminiscing but a lot had happened in her career as a galactic guardian. Travelling around space had been wonderful, it was so quiet but the destination had been a spaceship where they had one hell of a battle. It was a good battle, anyway. No one was hurt and all the evil robots were vanquished. They could even try their transformations and some skills they usually had to skip due to the danger to cities and citizens. There was no need to worry, not tonight. It was nice and peaceful and she hoped it’ll stay that way for a very long time; she would never admit that, though.
