Overview
An eclectic selection of skins arranged without much rhyme or reason. There are a few old legacy offerings that appear to benefit from the bundles’ discount but, are the bundles worth it on the whole? Only one way to find out: let’s give them a look.
Costume Party
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 8190 -> 4095 RP
Skins’ Price: 4792 -> 2396 RP
With three out of a total of five skins being legacy this is a bundle that grabs attention. However, only Bewitching Nidalee is absent from the yearly Legacy Vault Sale for being a Harrowing exclusive. Both Blacksmith Poppy and Masquerade Evelynn can be caught on sale at least once a year; which may be more often than regular sales. This makes Bewitching Nidalee the most noteworthy of inclusions. While the other skins are rather good the inclusions of Surgeon Shen is the low point in the set. Thus, it becomes a matter of whether it’s worth getting that skin with the rest.
In terms of pricing, it stays even: you either pay full price for Bewitching Nidalee or you pay half and also get Surgeon Shen as well. Any of the other skins can and will go on sale sooner or later. The main issue might be that the combination of skins lacks any unifying link so it’s probable that you may find some skins you aren’t interested in even if they are good. Demon Vi in particular is the most expensive but not the best that Vi has available. So, it ends up being a matter of whether this specific selection of skins and champions click for you or not.
Scary Carry
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 10304 -> 5152 RP
Skins’ Price: 5622 -> 2811 RP
A bunch of carries get together and dress in all sorts of ways. That’s as far as the bundle goes. Lacking legacy skins or anything particularly special there’s little reason to force oneself to pay for skins that you aren’t interested in. All of these skins will go on sale and many in the not so distant future. Blood Moon Kalista is scheduled to appear on sale this March and with the early sale behind PROJECT: Lucian, it won’t be long before it too reaches a sale. If you just can’t wait and like the selection of skins it could be a worthwhile investment. On the other hand, if there’re skins you aren’t interested in or simply don’t like then the regular sale is the better option.
Ranged Retribution
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 9746 -> 4873 RP
Skins’ Price: 5638 -> 2819 RP
Better called the ‘Legacy Bundle’ this five legacy skins are mostly retired products that show their age. Only Slayer Jinx is a recent offering and it’s a skin that struggles to stand out with its timid theme and insipid execution. The former legendary Firefigther Tristana is a tempting option but only if you just can’t wait for the end of year Legacy Vault Sale. While there are some nice skins here they are outdated with regards to the current standard. Even if we take them for what they can accomplish there’s little reason to tie the choices to a bundle when the Legacy Vault Sale allows you to pick specifically what you like at the same discount. Overall, it’s a bundle that seems better than it actually is.
Choose Your Own Adventure
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 9350 -> 4675 RP
Skins’ Price: 5246 -> 2623 RP
One legacy skin graces this bundle with its presence. Sadly, that’s Infiltrator Irelia which is a skin that wasted the potential of its cyberpunk concept. Lion Dance Kog’Maw has been demoted from its former legendary glory to a more reasonable but still pricey 1350 RP given how it’s aged. The rest are alright skins with something to offer but nothing remarkable about them. Ultimately, there isn’t much that is attractive about this bundle. Even if you like the idea of getting the legacy Infiltrator Irelia at half price you’re probably better off waiting for the Legacy Vault Sale by the end of the year to get exactly what you like.
