Introduction: Fire Working
The little girl places a few more firecrackers around the pile of rockets in a basket and looks at her teddy bear. “What do you think Tibbers? Would that be enough?” The panda stares back with blank eyes and she nods. “You’re right Tibbers! We need another line of rockets around and another line of firecrackers.” The girl takes more fireworks from the bag on her back and follows the instructions given by her furry friend. A fuse links all fireworks together and follows in a spiral towards the big pile of rockets in the centre. It’s a threat waiting to become real. “Now it’s all set, Tibbers. Let the fireworks begin!”
She lights a flame on the palm of her hand and throws it like a fireball towards the fuse. The sparks light the surroundings and the firecrackers start to blow one after the other. The sound is unbearable nearby but the girl and her bear are enjoying the sparks and colours as each rocket jumps into the air and explodes with happiness. The fuse reaches the second ring of firecrackers and finally reaches the basket of rockets. The rockets start to hop like frogs but the wicker catches fire and they fall to the ground. Without any support they fly aimless and strike targets at random. “Oh no, we are in trouble Tibbers.”
The street explodes in colour and the girl is another target bound to be reached. Rockets start to improve their random aim and the girl gets scared. In panic she screams: “Tibbers, help!” The teddy bear explodes in flames and multiplies in size. He puts his back to the rockets and the explosives harmlessly strike against his thick, flaming hide. He picks the girl up in his large limbs and gets her out of danger. “We need to stop the fireworks Tibbers or we’ll get in trouble if anyone finds out!” The panda turns and facing the pile of rockets advances towards it.
His bulky frame sways from side to side from his weight; the rockets are only annoying mosquitoes to swat. With his large paws he snuffs the fire and defuses the prospective disaster. “Thanks Tibbers! Next time we use a wood crate.” The panda looks at the girl. “You’re right, wood burns, we need metal and so we can use more rockets!” The girl grabs the panda by one of his front paws and pulls him towards the fireworks’ store room. “Come on Tibbers! We need to test this one out!” The panda sighs.
