Introduction: Hunting Machine
The first slash did nothing against the large, round shield. A spear poked from behind it but the Hunter was too fast for it. The second slash did hit the warrior but a body fully covered in metal was rather difficult to harm. She dropped a smoke bomb and hid as a shadow. It wasn’t as effective as she would’ve liked: the spear thrust the whole area and made her dodge backwards; she didn’t like to backtrack.
The smoke dissipated with a warrior of metal staring right at the Hunter with glowing eyes. Was it a machine? Not that it mattered, she had to find a way of stopping him. The shield was a problem but it seemed welded to his arm. That sounded about right: he was like an articulated slab of metal. How would he like some rust in him? She swallowed and opened herself for attack and dodged just in time. He took the bait.
She ran with the clanks of the metal man behind her. Rain poured in the street and there was nowhere to find protection from it; the explosion that finished the ruins she had left made sure of it. The metal man emerged from the debris unharmed but a bit scratched. So he wasn’t invulnerable after all. She moved fast, faster than she thought she could which forced the man to try to catch up. That was enough effort to weaken his articulations, enough for a fatal blow to the neck to cut the head off. Wires raged from the neck, as the machine fell like deadweight. Now, how many more?
