Introduction: Blood Moon Lightning
“It’s another bloody Moon! How many this month?” “I don’t know. Just stay in and don’t bother.” “Yes, fine but not everyone has that luxury!” The guards felt really lucky to be on their day off; well aware that luck was the only thing on their side. For a Justicar luck had no place. Under the ominous night sky she roamed the streets half expecting to find nothing and half sure she would have to face another horror. Last time it wasn’t a matter of luck so, why this time?
A red streak of lightning passed through a street in the distance cracking and crashing every nearby surface. She simply rose into the air and flew closer. It was fast, like nothing she had seen before. Her magical orbs surrounded her and she appeared like a small star hovering over the city. The streak realised that, it stopped for a moment, engulfed in red lightning and continued with an erratic movement: it obviously knew what was coming. The orbs started to rotate around her as she descended.
The streak appeared from all directions as if running in and out of the city from every available entrance. The Justicar spread her orbs and covered all exits and streets. When the streak aimed to reenter he found a city turned into a glowing minefield of explosive magic. It stopped for a second: enough for the orbs to identify their target. They flew after the streak and for all of its speed it simply couldn’t outrun them. It exploded, outside the city, in what looked to be a massive detonation of light. Perhaps it was luck that made sure this blood demon was manageable or perhaps it had outran the explosion; as it couldn’t outrun her magic. She’d have to wait until another Blood Moon to know.
