Introduction: Feeling Protected
The concert in the distance, people jump, the ground shakes and the air trembles all around. Nothing like the old days. That’s when you could sleep peacefully without worrying about a band of savages making a ruckus with their long hairs and tattoos. Well, pirates weren’t that different then but at least you could kill them fair and square. Gosh, there were a few good fellas then. Nevermind that, I’m rambling again. This temple may be the most boring post I’ve had. No, that was guard duty on that other temple full of monks. They even apologised when they left a room. It’s nice and quiet here. Until these people came. I wish I could do something about them.
As if hearing at the Warden’s thoughts the stars shone and the stadium was transported outside the city. The temple was in the outskirts but the stadium was to be a central point of the up-and-coming metropolis. Was to be was the phrase that stayed in the Warden’s mind when she saw the transportation. Well, now that is interesting she thought. The distance was reasonable enough from the city so that people could get back after a short walk. Fortunately, the outskirts of the city provided a few new buildings that nicely shielded the temple from the roar and scandal of the concert. She was happy about it.
Now, what would be the price of this? Nothing in life was free and big stuff tended to be on the pricey side. She looked into the temple then advanced. It was time for her rounds anyways and she was curious. Inside everything seemed as normal as always. Statues, benches and columns passed by without incident. When she reached the central isle she noticed that the night sky was softly lighting the main figure: a star child. Well, thank you very much she would say. Now I can have a peaceful night. She was sure that the stars blinked in the sky, it must have been that. If not, how could it be that the statue seemed to nod and smile?
