Overview
Four bundles based on ice and snow which is only a fitting choice for those in the north and refreshing for those in the south. With discounts, as always, being no better than in a regular sale these bundles’ worth largely depends on how even the quality of their skins is. There’s also the unusual addition of an emote bundle for those so inclined. Without further ado, let’s see what these bundles offer.
Ice Mage
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 9366 -> 4683 RP
Skins’ Price: 5398 -> 2699 RP
For the most part this is quite a nice bundle with satisfying and elaborate skins; except for Tundra Fizz. It’s not s a bad skin but it’s only a re-model and it pales in comparison with its most interesting companions. Also take into account that despite the effort made by Freljord Taliyah it’s a skin that clearly relies on its classic counterpart. Unless you like those skins it adds to the cost of the bundle and the discount is negated.
Endless Winter
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 8052 -> 4026 RP
Skins’ Price: 4568 -> 2284 RP
Just like in the previous bundles, there are some fantastic skins which the re-models simply can’t stand on equal ground to. There’s no doubt that Arctic Warfare Caitlyn is an appealing skin but it only offers model changes and Frosted Ezreal only new textures. Besides, Arctic Ops Varus may be a bit too uneven despite its efforts. Still, they are nice skins so if you like them it’s a good bundle but if not it may be better to skip it.
Frosted Tops
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 8582 -> 4291 RP
Skins’ Price: 4568 -> 2284 RP
Truth be told, there aren’t any bad skins in this bundle. Arctic Ops Kennen is overpriced for a re-model but it’s not a bad skin; strictly speaking. Of course, the uneven nature of the bundle is there just like in the previous ones. We have three re-models alongside more elaborate and satisfying skins: Frostblade Irelia and Glacial Malphite. The skins are good but the highlights are clear. If they are the ones that interests you the most then regular sales are a better option.
Call Of The Wild
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 8506 -> 4253 RP
Skins’ Price: 4314 -> 2157 RP
There are a lot of great skins in this bundle and there’re also the legacy skins. They haven’t aged well and while they have their charm they aren’t at the same level as the most elaborate ones. In spite of their restricted availability, the best skins are clear and they are better obtained through regular sales. Unless you like the legacy offerings this is a bundle to skip.
Mixed Feelings Emote Bundle
Discount: 33%
Total Price: 1350 -> 900 RP
Period: 14th to 18th of January, 2018
So far emotes don’t usually see discounts so those interested in showing a little picture next to their champion of choice will find three, admittedly, cute options here. For all their appeal, emotes are a simple affair and they aren’t particularly cheap either; especially in comparison with skins. If you do like the idea of emotes then this bundle could be a good starting point or additional step.
