Introduction: Forest Meeting
The forest glows under the rain. Leaves ebb and flow with the gentle breeze and the delicate fall of raindrops. In a clear, raindrops reach a far different end. A sarcophagus struggles to contain a burning core of flames constantly threatening to burst out of control. They never reach beyond the will of the consciousness trapped in such an inhuman prison, but there’s every intention to do so. Suffice to say, all life around this cage was trembling with anticipation; expecting the worse. Sliding through branches and renewing energies with each wall of rain a spirit flew to the rescue.
The meeting was tense as expected: a spirit of bark and leaves meets a barely contained breath of fire. Their opposing natures shared a deeper link: they both existed with magic and lived through it. A battle of unfathomable destruction and cataclysmic consequences never was more than a discarded idea for any of them. The passing of eons have showed them entire civilization crumbling to petty feelings and unreasonable demands. They stood at opposing ends but also shared the nostalgia for all that had been lost with the mere utterance of a incorrect word.
Their stares reached far into the mind and soul of each other. They inspected their past and expectations, neither uncovered themselves fully but enough to know, to realise that the superficial differences where only that. They shared too much and knowledge flowed from one to the other with the flow of calm rivers. The flames gathered around the sarcophagus and focusing their strength on the centre propelled the being to the skies: a new trick, just learned. The woods also benefitted from far reaching doses of healing magic; impossible before this meeting. A spirit with vast reaching powers and a being with an explosive focus of magic now breathed. They really didn’t exist moments ago but now they both vibrated with a feeling as fresh as the ongoing rain.
