Introduction: Weapons Test
Budgets, they rule every decision. It doesn’t matter if state security needs special funds to develop new projects to stay up to date in the arms race of this day and age. They expect scientist to make discoveries with only theories and engineers to do wonders with tin cans and toothpicks, who do they think they are? In cases like these, private investments and developments are necessary but the agency needs one weapon only: the best. The question is whether biotechnology or mechatronics would be the best alternative. A test is of the essence to settle this dispute, commence PROJECT: Test.
The two prototypes are ready. We have the mechanical robot and the biological specimen and an identical set of tasks they have to perform. The one with the better performance, including speed, efficiency and accuracy, will be the chosen one. The test goes on without an issue; until the end. They both demonstrated great skill in all cases, one specimen being more exact and the other faster, so in the end it wasn’t a clear choice. At some moment they both realised what being picked could mean. Neither could do much alone but, their abilities coordinated, they managed to escape the compound grounds together. Now we need to start PROJECT: Hunter.
