Summary
Period: 24th of October to 4th of November, 2014
Bundles: Harrowing 2010, Harrowing 2011, Harrowing 2012 and Harrowing 2013
Note: the bundles reduce their prices depending on which content you already own. In case you don’t own a champion or skin in a bundle the price rises by the corresponding price.
Harrowing is back and as the Black Mist surrounds us all we see that there are other things drifting in the heavy air. Those bold enough to enter this horrible fog, come, and find out what lies beyond.
Flash Deals
So far, we have random sales with a 20% discount that really isn’t very convincing. However, there are some skins at 50% that are a more interesting prospect. Regardless, flash deals require quite a bit of attention. Therefore, unless you can’t wait for a regular sale, the flash sales will help but they will also keep you chained to the store. Thresh isn’t to blame this time.
New Skins and Icons
The Crest of the Shadow Isles is available as a Summoner Icon for those that pledge their loyalty to the un-life. We also have two new apparitions: one as fantastic as Ravenborn LeBlanc and another that pales in comparison to her, Underworld Wukong. Click their names and visit their respective skins’ reviews to know more.
Both Ravenborn LeBlanc and Underworld Wukong are legacy skins; as their release announcements now indicate. That means that after the 4th of November they will go to the Legacy Vault and won’t be available until next Harrowing; sans some special event.
If legacy skin bundles, like the ones offered this time, are any indication they will be bundled together for their return in Harrowing 2015. This means that waiting a year can reduce Ravenborn LeBlanc’s price by 20%; assuming the price of RP remains constant in your currency.
However, the time to catch Underworld Wukong is definitely now while the 28% discount lasts. The bundle isn’t a bad second choice but, if you ever plan to get it, the release discount ensures that you avoid a year wait while also getting it for less. It’s a skin that doesn’t fit 1350 RP so for 975 RP it can be an acceptable choice.
Bundles
There’s one bundle for each set of yearly Harrowing skins plus a 20% discount on top of them. Seeing how timid the discount is these bundles become a good choice only if you like most if not all of the skins included. So, let’s give them a quick look.
Harrowing 2010
Discount: 20%
Total Price: 8755 -> 7004 RP
Skins’ Price: 5395 -> 4316 RP
This is quite an uneven bundle with the only real highlights being Pumpkinhead Fiddlesticks and Nosferatu Vladimir. The other skins may have good ideas behind them but the executions don’t justify their price. It might be better to choose your favourite ones and get them separately.
Harrowing 2011
Discount: 20%
Total Price: 5710 -> 4568 RP
Skins’ Price: 2990 -> 2392 RP
Now this is quite a nice bundle with a set of appealing skins that usually have something extra to offer; whether as particles for their abilities or their models. This is one bundle worth recommending as even the more modest skins have a unique charm.
Harrowing 2012
Discount: 20%
Total Price: 8550 -> 6840 RP
Skins’ Price: 4875 -> 3900 RP
This is a bundle with some excellent skins and a few that could’ve been better. The best skins are Headless Hecarim and Underworld Twisted Fate: both providing great concepts and implementations. Headmistress Fiora is the one that struggles to convince as it was announced to have ruler sounds for her abilities but only her auto-attacks do; which makes her rather inconsistent. It’s a really good bundle but it has its ups and downs.
Harrowing 2013
Discount: 20%
Total Price: 4275 -> 3420 RP
Skins’ Price: 2325 -> 1860 RP
There’s really not much reason to purchase this bundle. Firstly, Officer Vi was recently offered at a 50% off so if that discount didn’t convince you then 20% off doesn’t have a better chance. Besides, considering the recent sale on Officer Vi it’s only logical to suppose that a regular sale for Haunted Zyra is around the corner. Maybe if you missed Officer Vi this could be a way of catching up but for most it’s better to simply skip it.
An Unexpected Guest
Fans of the undead shouldn’t forget the fleeting presence of Zombie Brand, a skin with a legendary legacy. This is a zombie with a unique personality that seems rather appealing so if you want to know more take a look at his skin’s review.
Legacy Skins and Wards
Besides the fact that all previous legacy Harrowing skins are available for individual purchase there are other things out there. Mystery gifting is back with double the chance to get any Harrowing content. In addition to this, there are several legacy ward skins as well as a bundle that includes all of them and a 20% off discount. At least, there’s variety in the horror.

The 2012 Harrowing is/was the best.
Wukong deserved a better skin but still I really like it and at 975 rp I think it’s worth 3 stars, after 28 definitely not worth.
Also I really love the LB skin. I don’t play LB so I am not going to buy it.
If you also count Reaper Soraka then this isn’t the worst Harrowing, 2013 is/was.
We agree, at 975 RP Underworld Wukong is deserving of three stars. Yet, Ravenborn LeBlanc is a clear example of how much can be done at 975 RP; it’s certainly a wonderful skin. Reaper Soraka is a bit of a mystery so far. In spite of the far-fetched concept it would’ve perfectly fitted Harrowing.
All in all, it is, indeed, not such a bad Harrowing.
Zero, what about making a list of the history of the Flash Sales? I have sadly not been able to find one.
Truth be told, we haven’t found the discounts to be sufficiently generous to justify checking every six hours and relinquishing any sleep. If you are going to buy a skin anyway then it’s worth checking for a sale but it’s not worth the effort of following them as it doesn’t help save much RP.
From what we’ve seen, we checked numerous times, the flash deals are skins at a 20% discount. So the flash sales are short and not very cheap which make them inferior to regular sales. In our opinion, they aren’t worth the effort.
I understand, but I would like to point out that the discounts actually range from 20% to 50%, like right now Pool Party Graves is at 50% off along with Wicked LeBlanc, Special Forces Gangplank and Muay Thai Lee Sin at varying, less attractive discounts.
It’s possible as prices for owned skins aren’t displayed and we don’t check often. Maybe the sales aren’t that bad but having to stay pinned to the store isn’t very practical. At any rate it’s worth checking from time to time to see if there’s anything interesting with a good discount.
