Period: 13th to 16th of June, 2014
Skins: Hyena Warwick, Dragon Slayer Jarvan IV and Count Vladimir
Champions: Yasuo, Cassiopeia and Mordekaiser
This weekend we have a joyful scavenger, royal blood sport and aristocracy. The offer is varied and the prices better than usual so let’s give this all a quick look.
Some skins have a good concept realized by a clever execution and Hyena Warwick is one of those. Between the frequent hyena laughter and the new animations the skin delivers its theme quite well; all backed by a good model. The result is a great skin that any Warwick fan will enjoy.
In fantasy, armour tends to be much more flamboyant than it needs to. Dragon Slayer Jarvan IV is a good example of this. The aspect is surely eye-catching but throws practicality out of the castle window. Ultimately, it does provide Jarvan with an appealing look so fans of the Prince will find it a nice option.
There are other skins that get away with providing as little as possible to the point of adding nothing. Many are re-colours that keep simplicity to the utmost. In the case of Count Vladimir we have black clothes and hair, nothing else. This makes the skin different but also plainer than the classic one. Unless you are a devoted fan of the Crimson Reaper or a collector it might be better to skip this set of clothes.
A big sword to farm IP could work and it seems that Yasuo’s skill with the blade compensates the aptitude of the tool. The Unforgiven’s skill can surely help avoid a good deal of farming. Strangely, Cassiopeia is also quite versed in avoiding farming too; not surprising from a sneaky snake-lady. However, some tools do show their inadequacy and Mordekaiser’s mace is the case. Still, the power of metal is enough to make him a passable alternative.
Moving on to other matters, while we are almost half a year away since the sword-wielding cowboy arrived a sale still seems far in the future. In the meantime, High Noon Yasuo will dedicate the time to his musical hobby as there’s a lot of competition to enter sales.
Even though she’s part snake Cassiopeia is a lady of refined tastes. She also likes to share them which is the reason why she discounted her Jade Fang jewellery on March. On January she did the same for her Siren and Mythic styled vases but that’s not all: on December her Desperada line of sombreros was on sale too. As you can see, she offers a good amount of items but her recent generosity means that they won’t be as affordable in a while.
It’s been a long time since the man of metal had anything to do with sales. We have to go as far back as last December to find his Infernal armour. Before that, it’s another jump to find the Lord gear on September. Worse yet is the fact that his Pentakill guitar hasn’t received a discount since May, 2013. Maybe he’s too busy with metal.
