Introduction: Chemical Fury
“It’s the chemicals, you see? They need me to do it.” The sword was risen high above and it fell on the bark. It was a large, dull sword so the treant was thrown away with a large mark on his side. When he tried to get back on his feet his made a musical sound that could only be described as pain. The sword slashed again but on his feet and aware the elemental was too fast for it. He dashed left and right leaving a trail of light behind. The enhanced warrior was confused by the pounding chemicals and the dazzling light. It was an opportunity not to miss.
The elemental blew his horn and sent and arc of light towards the warrior. The warrior stood still, immobile, frozen by the light surrounding him. Soon many plants arrived and their tendrils tied the warrior up. A few moments later the light dissipated but the tendrils held him in place. He struggled and roared like a wild animal but if a rabid bear couldn’t escape it was improbable he could. And yet, the chemicals burned so hot in his veins that he started to tear the tendrils apart. His mind was giving way and only a chemical fury remained.
That night lumberjacks remember that a large tree fell. When they went to see they couldn’t find it or any trace of its roots. In fact, it seemed to have been uprooted and the ground around it destroyed as if by strong impacts of some kind. Of the warrior his creators never heard of again. Another failure they imagined, and if they expected an unstoppable machine of destruction they were right. Some elders talk fables of a tree that sacrificed its life to give a new one to a lost warrior but those are just old tales, right?
