Introduction: That Which Lies Beyond
There are horrors in this world that no one can see but we know, deep inside, of them. It may be that dreams are the door to see that which escapes our eyes in our everyday lives. Just consider if we were aware of everything that goes around us at every moment. We wouldn’t even be able to act at all; least of all if we saw that which we were never meant to see. Perhaps nightmares are our transgression in that hidden world that we should never look into. A world that even in small doses can leave us staggering through the day.
If we were to realise the many layers that exist in our world, that we don’t have access to, we would never be the same. To know is one thing but to see the reality in all its glorious horror is a completely different thing. How close we come, during a common day, of ending so many prizes we may not even deserve. If we were to see that which surrounds us, those that live around us, unseen with blades at the ready for our end we’d freeze in terror. Alas, we don’t. There’s a reason for everything and there are thing we were never meant to see. Experience may teach but, more often than not, ignorance is bliss.
