Introduction: The Craving Elixir
“Fire in the veins.” That’s how they liked to sell it or, more accurately, how it was presented to the public in the series of adverts that exulted the bio-suit’s virtues. It didn’t take much convincing for the tech-enthusiasts to embrace a new piece of technology as lavishly introduced to the eager masses. There was no problem to speak about: enhanced performance thanks to the elixir, wonder of modern advance, which flowed through the body of the user. That last word was to become particularly meaningful.
Flames took hold of the cities as the anxiety for the elixir spread. It was a desire, a need, an obsession that needed to be quenched like wildfire. Nothing could stop the riots, how can you control super-powered addicts? Whoever didn’t escape in panic was causing it. The wardens tried to seize some control of the streets but only managed to close the big cities. Not everyone escaped but: “it’s the best that can be done in the current circumstances. We hope you understand.” Yes, understand we did but comprehension wasn’t enough.
Mystics, totems, relics, anything was a source of hope to those that were still trapped inside one of the assailed cities. It soon became a war zone. With everyone fending for themselves humanity died a bit in all of us. “We aren’t going to see our city be run over by this addicts!” As the suits ran out of liquid, powers disappeared and people grabbed whatever they could brand as a weapon and started to batter their way. The problem was that the way wasn’t out but in. They decided they were going to clean the city.
Beaten bodies left in their path, they arrived at the centre of town to face the few users with the elixir still running in them. They were few facing many, even with their powers they couldn’t resist the mass that slowly grew as it advanced. “You like to spread terror? We have some for you too!” But the elixir was strong, they had underestimated its effects on the body and the mind. With desperation fists faced pipes, hammers and sticks: fists prevailed and bodies were broken.
Blades proved better weapons: they slashed the tubes and spread the elixir on ground, user and adversary alike. With less elixir they grew weak but sharing their gift also meant they faced adversaries on equal terms. There were more consequences, evidently. The only one that wasn’t captured by that poison was the dissolving matter at their feet. The few became many and the riots turned into sieges. The elixir had won over the abandoned and desire slowly crept outside the frail limits of the cities. “More, more, more… more!” The infection had spread.

I’m not sure how fitting it is to call that Zyra skin’s fire particles ‘fantastic’ considering what little fire particles it actually has (most is just seared versions of the classic thorns and vines) are the same as Shyvana’s old particles which, compared to the new ones, were quite rough. The skin is still good, of course, though it certainly could be better.
You’re right, by now Wildfire Zyra’s particles are actually outdated. We base sale overviews on the reviews and as skins age so do the assessments. On its day, we tell you things were done different in those times, the particles were fantastic in comparison with what was available. Nowadays, it’s still a pretty good skin but we agree that fantastic may be a bit too much. We still think that it’s a great skin for its price tier though.
