Introduction: Awakening
Sand, wind, eons, sand: the desert doesn’t change; the Sun makes sure of that. Our wait has been long and we’ve been patient. It is our prerogative, always ready but silent. Now it is time for action, our Emperor has returned and we shall follow. We stretch our limbs, we shake off the sand and we march. There is no map to guide us but there is no need: we follow the light of our Emperor. Wherever he is, we will find him.
Scorching days, freezing nights, nothing stops our march. The temple is far behind us. There’s only desert around and the sky above. The stars don’t tell us where to go because we already know it. The Emperor shines bright in the distance and we follow his call. Houses, streets, cities pass us by. People stare and only a few recognise us for who we are. Rumours spread and, hopefully, they will reach the ears of our Emperor. He must know that the Guardians of the Sands are returning to him and we carry the glory of Shurima with us.
