Summary
Period: 20th to 27th of October, 2016
Bundles: Hold On, Wait For Me, The Delete Fleet, The I’ve Got You Bruhndle and Prey to Play
Note: the bundles include the respective champions and reduce their prices depending on which content you already own. In case you don’t own a champion or skin in a bundle the price rises by the appropriate price.
Four bundles organized, loosely, by role; assuming that it’s a matter of how you hunt your enemies. The selections tend to be rather eclectic and while in some cases there’s some rhyme there isn’t always enough reason. Especially as the bundles seldom restrict themselves from including great skins with other less impressive ones; business as usual. A quick look at the bundles is in order, then, to find out which, if any, are worth checking.
Hold On, Wait For Me
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 7812 -> 3906 RP
Skins’ Price: 4714 -> 2357 RP
If you like lending a hand to whoever’s near and tightly snug to them in a deadly embrace then there should be much to like in this bundle. While there are some remarkable and charming skins there are others that have been left behind by more attractive alternatives. Specifically, Obsidian Malphite is very nice but also timid in execution by current standards. Surprise Party Amumu doesn’t have the excuse of age and surely pales in comparison to Sad Robot. While there aren’t bad skins, be mindful that there are better alternatives for the champions in many cases.
The Delete Fleet
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 10680 -> 5340 RP
Skins’ Price: 5998 -> 2999 RP
In terms of erasing targets there aren’t better options even within the realm of skins. Without doubt Program Lissandra and Night Hunter Rengar are wonderful options; with PROJECT: Zed not far behind. While they are quite tempting the company has problems even if they aren’t without worth: Soul Reaver Draven can look rather dull and Arclight Vayne’s model looks like a prototype with only the particles standing out. The best skins are certainly worth getting but a regular sale may be better as the worst have serious issues.
The I’ve Got You Bruhndle
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 9224 -> 4612 RP
Skins’ Price: 5022 -> 2511 RP
If you like to bring support wherever you go then you may also like to do so with style. In some cases, the bundle delivers but there are some low points. The worst of which is Surgeon Shen: a re-model that is neither funny nor convincing as a representation of its concept. Both Meowkai and Master Chef Tahm Kench could be better developed as they don’t fully realise their themes. The couple of appealing options are what may make the bundle worth getting. However, if you only care for Dragonslayer Braum and Armor of the Fifth Age Taric then a regular sale is better.
Prey to Play
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 9384 -> 4692 RP
Skins’ Price: 4792 -> 2396 RP
The pleasure of hunting and not letting go until it’s too late, for the victim, can be a joy. If you are so inclined then there’s much to like in this assortment of skins. Sadly, there are a few less than ideal options. Shadowfire Kindred can feel too superficial in its approach to flame and shade. Whereas, Leopard Nidalee is a strict re-texture: nice looking but simple. The other skins are all quite nice to say the least. Add to this that the worst of the set are actually good and this could be a bundle worth getting if you like this selection of skins.
