Introduction: Just Sand Enough
The trail of sand leaves right back to the beginning. “How many more times? Is there sand enough?” Time rewinds and the Shadow Prince grasps the Order of the Lotus monk. She escapes the hold much sooner than the Prince expects and, though wounded, her blades dance in the air deflecting the dark energy he wields. The young time adventurer waits for his time to intervene: “it has to be at the exact moment”. He waits, shaking his limbs, swinging his weight from leg to leg, counting the seconds. The sand clock reaches the mark and he springs into action.
The Shadow Prince is on his knees. His power melting his nearby surroundings the monk looks down with pity. She lifts a leg, moves it forward a bit and her body leans a little. Her weight moves from one leg to the other, she is about to lift her other leg when the dark grasp of the Shadow Prince reaches for her again. “Behold nothingness.” Her training in the Order of the Lotus has given her the willpower to resist the visions but can her flesh stand up to the evil corrosion, again? “I must not yield, there is balance in all things and the scales will be tipped as they should.”
This time, it’s the time-hopping adventurer who gets in the way of the dark hold and the monk stands still staring at the boy’s static eyes. Her blades react, rising over her head they strike down on the Shadow Prince with a stunning blow. The boy coughs life and she finishes the Prince with the graceful slash of her four blades. He melts into his own dark energy, perhaps consumed or maybe simply escaping to another dimension. She grabs the arm of the boy and he stands. He manages to balance himself on his own feet. A pat in the back shows eloquence and a smile is exchanged between them. They leave their own ways but time will make sure they meet again. There are more battles to be fought.
