Summary
Period: 29th of May to 5th of June, 2014
Bundles: Pool Party and Winter Warriors
Note: the bundles reduce their prices depending on which content you already own. In case you don’t own a champion in a skin bundle the price rises by the champion’s price.
The chill of Winter on one side and the blazing Summer on the other. A bundle for each and we are set then? Now that’s what you can call genius and almost a month before the solstice! Okay grumpy, let’s leave the astronomy behind and take a look at these many bundles.
Overview
Pool Party Bundle
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 10120 -> 5060 RP
Skins’ Price: 5626 -> 2813 RP
The Pool Party has good variety and acceptable quality but only Renekton manages to stand out among the attendants. With new particles, animations and sounds the crocodile does a lot to deliver the theme. That’s not to say that Ziggs and Graves don’t deliver a good performance but their high price doesn’t help.
The remaining attendants are Leona and Lee Sin which sport re-models along some extra touches yet feel a bit lacklustre in comparison. They are still charming but they struggle to rise above the average. In the end, it’s a good collection of skins with a funny, for as long as it lasts, theme. If you like the idea then the bundle isn’t bad but most of these champions can do better than this.
Winter Warriors Bundle
Discount: 50%
Total Price: 7444 -> 3722 RP
Skins’ Price: 4876 -> 2438 RP
The Winter Warriors are an interesting bunch as they offer an impressive display of frosty skill and not just with snowy particles. In general they all deliver the theme well and integrate additions beyond model changes so as to cement the idea. Even at their worst they offer something appealing despite their flaws.
From the set, there aren’t really any bad skins. Snowstorm Sivir may not be up to the general level but the lower price makes up for it. In conclusion, this is a rather good bundle with nice skins that don’t simply rely on humour to deliver their chilly concept. If you like the skins or wanted a better price on the legacy skins then this is a pretty good opportunity to get them.

Zero the price of Frostblade Irelia is 1350…
Well, to start with 975*5 = 4875 RP. However, it’s true that Frostblade Irelia had its price changes, along many other skins, and so it went to 1350 RP. The thing is that her price was adjusted again at the beginning of the year, just like Wildfire Zyra, and returned to 975 RP. That could be the source of the confusion or there’s something we simply aren’t seeing.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat????i bought her for 1350!!!daaaaaamn!sorry aNyways
Did you contact player support? They could’ve helped and it might still be worth a try. After all you have nothing to lose. Truth is, these variable prices are problematic.
When have they changed it?I know from my last contact with player support ur refund request must be within 90 days of your purchase and is only leggit if the champion or skin has recieved changes like buffs or nerfs which I read in a post yesterday this rule is no longer in play..anyways im happy with the skin so no worries 🙂
According to the post we linked above the price change took place on the 20th of January, 2014. Price changes should be an exception as it’s a rather significant modification but it could be a little late by now.
Regardless, Frostblade Irelia is a rather nice skin but simply a bit expensive at 1350 RP. Still, hope you enjoy it.
