Conclusion:
Phoenix Quinn and Valor is a straightforward and even unpretentious skin with a somewhat veiled phoenix theme. Quinn seems mostly dressed in bird-styled golden armour and doesn’t embody the theme except for the new fire particles. Conversely, while Valor follows the same trend he’s aflame. The result is interesting but strangely executed. Fans of Quinn and Valor will find it a nice option despite its peculiarities.
General Wukong brings enlightenment and armour to the Monkey King. If that sounds unexciting then know that the implementation won’t change your mind. The aspect is reasonable though adorned but doesn’t catch the eye. Both design and colour palette seem uninspired merely doing enough. It’s not a bad alternative for an armoured Wukong but it doesn’t deliver much else.
Earthrune Skarner is a great reinterpretation of the Crystal Vanguard that takes a more bucolic angle. The result is unique and eye-catching due to the detailed design that makes good use of its source. It can be said that it’s a more fantastical version of Skarner but it’s one with an attractive identity and low price.

Conclusion:
Some ways of avoiding IP farming are more direct than others so letting the waves flood the fields seems like a clear statement. For those inclined to bend water to their will Nami is the best choice. Burning everything to the ground as you circle the fields can be effective too. So, don’t forget that Shyvana is around; though she might need to be convinced to embrace her fiery side. Finally, there’s also plunder as an option to accrue IP. Gangplank can share his experience on that regard but don’t expect it to be easy amidst the grog.
Moving on to looks, Koi Nami was on sale last November. Considering how brief sales are as well as the amount of skins waiting to reach them things don’t look good. It seems like fans of decorative carp will have to be patient, just like fans of Nami, as she lacks any alternatives.
Things don’t look better for Ice Drake Shyvana due to the amount of skins still awaiting their first discount. Add to that the fact that Darkflame was on sale last January and Ironscale on November and we are left with only one choice. Boneclaw was last seen by the end of July which means that a sale becomes a possibility but not anytime soon.
As we approach the time to set sail, we find that Sultan Gangplank is on the same boat as many other recent skins: looking at sales from afar. The Spooky kind of pirate was discounted on January so that’s another to discard. Special Forces looks more promising as August started with its sale. Similar is the case of the Minuteman with regards to July. Still, nothing seems to be in the foreseeable future.
