League of Legends: Jax Skins’ Review – StrategyZero
Nov 272012

Jax, Grandmaster at Arms
Jax, Grandmaster at Arms

Jax, Grandmaster at Arms is adept at using many weapons and also at wearing many outfits to match them. Most of his skins reflect the style of a warrior, as it would be expected, but with varying degrees of success. Next time you leap into a fight, consider empowering yourself with the best looks. His skins’ review will aid you in this relentless assault.

The Mighty Jax
The Mighty Jax Splash Art The Mighty Jax Model
Category: Legacy
Price: 520 RP
Concept: Jax as an ice hockey player.
Model: Major model changes for Jax, new model for his weapon.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: The ice background is simple but reasonably done. Still, it doesn’t set much of a stage for a hockey player. Jax’s portrayal allows a good look of his outfit and the shading isn’t bad at all. However, he suffers from perspective and proportion problems: the former, come from a viewing angle that isn’t low enough to excuse the oversized feet and small head; the latter, because even if we consider a low view his arms are short and his hands small. Overall, it’s not terrible as it serves its purpose but the depiction leaves much to be desired.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: To put it simply The Mighty Jax is Classic Jax wearing a hockey jersey and pants while wielding a hockey stick. Actually, the description is as straightforward as the look; despite the patterns on the back and the logo on the jersey and stick. Truth be told, for Ice Hockey fans it’s not such a bad choice but this skin is more valuable as a collector’s item.

Vandal Jax
Vandal Jax Splash Art Vandal Jax Model
Category: Legacy
Price: 520 RP
Concept: Jax wearing dark clothes and wielding a spiked club.
Model: Minor model changes for Jax and new model for his weapon.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: The background is an empty gladiatorial arena that looks quite detailed but does little more than provide a frame. Jax’s depiction is quite good: the shading is clear and complex, the stance attractive and the glow of his eyes matches the metal sparks on the smashed ground. Even the trail of his swing is visible; though it resembles a halo too much. Furthermore, his clothes don’t exactly match the ones from in-game model. Regardless, considering the impact of his portrayal it’s a piece that does a great job at making Jax interesting.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Vandal Jax looks like a conventional alternative to Classic Jax. Their similarities are obvious but the theme also grounds Jax with a more traditional style. In addition to this, while the skin is rather colourful that doesn’t make it any more appealing. As far as pummelling enemies with a coarsely made weapon, Vandal Jax delivers. However, aside from that it’s just another set of colours for Jax’s outfit.

Angler Jax
Angler Jax Splash Art Angler Jax Model
Category: Legacy
Price: 975 RP
Concept: Jax as a fisherman with a rod.
Model: Minor model changes for Jax and new model for his weapon.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: The background resembles a swamp or marsh more than a lake apt for fishing. Besides, the thick fog masks much of the scenery and leaves only a patch of grass, trees and part of the lake visible. Jax appears calmly leaning on a tree while crossing his arms. The pose is a good match for a patient fisher but it wholly covers his chest. Still, it’s noticeable that his look isn’t completely faithful to the in-game model. Nonetheless, he is well shaded and drawn with nice use of light and reflections. Additionally, the patterns on his coat and the cracks of his hat are nice extras; yet why sparks to his right hint at an invisible fire is inexplicable. Overall, it’s a good depiction of Jax that shows the champion under a different but appealing light.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Angler Jax tries to be an interesting joke but it gets dragged down by a poor execution and an unimaginative design. In fact, with a bit of malice it could be said that it’s little more than a re-colour of Classic Jax. The skin does, actually, do more than change a few colours. Unfortunately, none of those changes are really attractive. The rod is too fragile a weapon, it would easily break, and the angler clothes don’t look appealing. In the end, Angler Jax is a joke skin that isn’t very funny nor is it very good looking.

PAX Jax
PAX Jax Splash Art PAX Jax Model
Category: Promotional
Price: Not Applicable
Concept: Jax in the image of the Cardboard Tube Samurai.
Model: Minor model changes for Jax and new model for his weapon.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: A grey forest seems to be the frame of this piece, a forest that looks sterile and empty. Fortunately, Jax’s portrayal doesn’t share those characteristics: his clothes are finely drawn with patterns and folds, his straw hat shows every fibre, and his eyes shine; even his bandages are detailed. The counterpart to this attractive visual display is that the look isn’t a close match to the in-game model. Furthermore, the cardboard tube looks like wood and the legs look drab while the perspective of the feet seems unconvincing. In general, it’s a splash art that looks good but is a bit deceiving about its subject.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: PAX Jax is a skin that due to its nature and implementation stands in a peculiar place. On the one hand, it’s very similar to Classic Jax though with a new weapon and hat. On the other hand, it’s a highly collectable skin that represents the Cardboard Tube Samurai from Penny Arcade. Therefore, it becomes a skin that can be uninteresting or invaluable depending on how much weight the comic reference has. On the whole, it’s not a bad skin as it suitably interprets an unorthodox fighter. However, it’s not worth chasing to the end of the Earth and it certainly isn’t something to acquire at any cost.

Jaximus
Jaximus Splash Art Jaximus Model
Category: Legacy
Price: 975 RP
Concept: Jax as a murmillo; a type of Roman gladiator.
Model: New model for Jax and his weapon.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: New walking quote.
Splash Art: The background is nothing more than a sketch of an arena. In fact, the sword and shield on the ground are glaring examples of the quality of the piece. Jax fares a bit better despite the shading being rough overall. While his lower body follows the quality of the background his upper body doesn’t look as drab. Still, the piece looks rather crude to the point that the blood dripping from Jax’s poleaxe looks like threads. Truth be told, it’s a piece that does its job but is very disappointing in its quality.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Jaximus is a skin that has great potential but not all of it is realized. The skin leaves little doubt about its subject but the representation has some shortcomings. Firstly, it insists too strongly on echoing Classic Jax’s style so that he has to wear unfitting clothes like the cape or skirt. Secondly, most elements, like those on the body, are texture based and become deformed with Jax’s movements. On top of this, there are multiple colours but they all look dull; therefore, the skin looks a little too garish and a little too drab. Besides, the poleaxe is actually too short, and even small, so it hardly looks like a deadly weapon. On the whole, it’s a skin with a very nice concept but the execution doesn’t deliver as it should.

Temple Jax
Temple Jax Splash Art Temple Jax Model
Category: Regular
Price: 750 RP
Concept: Jax styled as a Shaolin monk.
Model: New model for Jax and his weapon.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: A temple in the distance, grass, trees and lots of sky; without forgetting a patch of black to the left set the stage. The background feels deficient with its lack of detail and elements. Additionally, Jax suffers from his own set of issues: the clothes are acceptably drawn but the colours are too muddy. Moreover, his body looks too small for his oversized limbs and head. The ji, albeit too short, is the only part that looks convincing with dents on the blade and a rather solid tassel. In fact, the composition of the piece isn’t bad but the execution is sadly lacklustre.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Temple Jax is another victim of Classic Jax’s design in that it becomes forced to conform to its style. As a Shaolin monk the cape is questionable much like the overly loose trousers and unusually short and small ji. At least the general look effectively recreates the feel of a Shaolin, even though it takes obvious liberties with the source. In the end, Temple Jax has a reasonable and appealing Shaolin feel but the skin could be much more.

Nemesis Jax
Nemesis Jax Splash Art Nemesis Jax Model
Category: Regular
Price: 975 RP
Concept: Jax as an armoured warrior wielding a mace.
Model: New model for Jax and his weapon.
Particles: New purple particles for his abilities.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: A fortress under attack has it’s golden doors open to blurry assailants and a diffuse far away city. Jax crushes a soldier’s helmet with one hand and steps over another while a third one flies from a presumed hit from his mace. The composition, in general, feels overly dramatic and exaggerated but it gets its point across. At least, Jax portrayal is great, perhaps too great: his dented bronze armour shines under the light while his clothes play with the light in their folds. However, much of his body is surmised in darkness and thus looks rather plain; which, surprisingly, is what more accurately matches the in-game model. On the whole, it’s a good looking piece that provides an attractive portrayal of Jax; though it embellishes his look a little too much.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Nemesis Jax shows the Grandmaster at Arms as a fully equipped warrior. The equipment is unexpectedly reasonable as the clothes, armour and mace look heavily stylized but practical. Unfortunately, the mute colours show little contrast and so they mesh with each other making Jax’s attire appear simpler that it really is. The outline stays interesting due to the peculiar boots and asymmetrical shoulder pads. Besides, the purple particles add some needed visual flare to the skin. Regardless, it’s a skin that doesn’t deliver on the promises of the splash art and ends up feeling a tad disappointing.

SKT T1 Jax
SKT T1 Jax Splash Art SKT T1 Jax Model
Category: Legacy
Price: 750 RP
Concept: Jax as a street warrior.
Model: New model for Jax and his weapon.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: New sounds for Leap Strike and auto-attacks.
Splash Art: Following on the footsteps laid before, the splash art is content with depicting the team of champions at an arena among bright lights and confetti. As dynamic as the portrayal is it also feels like it’s treading the same ground. It also doesn’t help matters that the background is so diffuse and that the setting seems empty.
That considered the champions do look good. Each depiction speaks about them though not always in the right way. Specifically, Jax appears agile and ready for a fight, Lee Sin concentrated and physically apt while Zed seems sneaky and lethal. The ladies though don’t shine as much: Zyra simply lashes forward with her classic tendrils and Vayne looks unexpectedly light-hearted and enticing.
In a way, it seems that the splash art followed the traditional path: powerful guys flanked by sexy girls. To be fair, the portrayals are nice with vibrant shading and great variety of colour. Besides, for better or for worse, all the champions look attractive in some way. Therefore, we can say that it’s a piece with a disappointing background and a good portrayal that doesn’t always display the best that each champion can offer.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Compact clothing, a wide mask and a big blunt weapon are characteristics of Jax’s preference in gear. This case follows the pattern with a suitable modern styling. The casual clothes fit his broad frame well and seem finely chosen for physical activity. The mask seems custom-made yet similar to the classic hockey mask. The weapon is what seems rather peculiar if one thinks of it as a trophy with a large handle though. However, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to think that it’s just an elegant bird bath that Jax obtained somewhere. In that case the look is clear at revealing a tough street warrior ready to pummel. All things considered, SKT T1 Jax asks for a little effort to accept his appearance but, once you do, it becomes a fun contemporary look for the Grandmaster at Arms.

Warden Jax
Warden Jax Splash Art Warden Jax Model
Category: Regular
Price: 750 RP
Concept: Jax as an armoured, lamp-post-wielding guard.
Model: New model for Jax and his weapon.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: The idea behind the splash art is quite good: Wardens and Marauders fight each other. The context isn’t as clear as one would like. The setting is only suggested with a flight of stairs and some columns but the blurry mess that is the background doesn’t state anything concrete. The faint apparition of Alistar and, barely, Olaf’s mace and axe, is the little reminder of the Marauders: what really makes the splash art interesting is merely hinted.
The Wardens’ depiction is moderately clear but leaves room for improvement. Of the two, Karma is the one who we can see better. Her Mantle of Decorum is largely omitted but most of her armour is visible with, from the waist up, a reasonably colourful and attractive depiction. Jax receives an even more detailed portrayal but only as long as we centre our attention on the area around his helmet. Away from it he’s shrouded in an inexplicable fog and as the pose doesn’t help reveal his look or is even particularly sensible we find too much obscured for little reason.
The result is uneven with areas that attract attention but others that are deficient in the most basic elements. When all is added up the splash art reveals flaws that could’ve been prevented as there’s wasted space. It serves its purpose but the splash art had elements to be much better.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: A multi-layered cape, golden rims, heavy plates but free arms and legs for freedom of movement. Warden Jax reaches a compromise between protection and encumbrance as well as decoration and function. However, such compromises leave the skin being a little of too many things. As such, it’s difficult to define the identity that the armour tries to project. It’s neither regal, practical, light nor heavy armour but a mix of them. Because of that, in some areas it seems to compete with Nemesis Jax and, as a re-model, lose in the comparison.
The richly designed lamp post is a strange choice. Considering the armour’s design there isn’t a funny angle to the skin except in the weapon. This adds another thin element to the collage that the skin is. That’s not to say that there’s nothing to like as the helmet is appealing and the surrounding decorations adds an air of elegance.
Regardless, while the skin is good it doesn’t manage to be more. As an armoured version of the Grandmaster, Warden Jax is an option but it has competition as a battle-focused skin.

God Staff Jax
God Staff Jax Splash Art God Staff Jax Model
Category: Regular
Price: 1350 RP
Concept: Jax as a warrior with celestial might.
Model: New model for Jax and his weapon plus new glow for his hands and weapon.
Particles: New particles for his abilities, auto-attack,death and recall.
Animations: New animations for auto-attacks, Empower, death and recall.
Sounds: New sounds for his abilities, auto-attack, death and recall plus processed voice-over.
Splash Art: From the hint of objects flying and the dust dispersing someone has just made quite an entrance. Unfortunately, the background is only grey filler. It does provide a place for Jax to stand and an effect for his entrance but that’s as much as it does. There’s simply too little shown to realise anything concrete about the context.
Jax’s depiction is all about catching the eye. With light coming from above there’s a clear contrast that is probably too pronounced. The upper part of the body is too homogeneous in light colours and the lower body too dull and sketchy. A real effort has to be done to notice the design of the armour and clothes. Of course, Jax’s stance hardly helps; to the point that it’s even difficult to pinpoint his eyes despite their evident depiction. The middle seems to be the best area. Lines are sharp and colours clear with some rather nice depictions of metal; almost photorealistic. Strangely, Jax’s glowing hands do look somewhat diffuse despite being surrounded by sharpness. His additional, ethereal arms look blurry. It makes sense as a way of communicating their supernatural nature. However, it strikes as a suboptimal solution. If they were translucent instead it would be a more effective option. The famous god staff appears behind Jax and its head relegated to a side. For being the leif motif of the skin, according to its name, it looks like a strange choice.
All added together, there’s no doubt that this is an impactful portrayal of Jax. Sadly, too much is sacrificed in the name of impact. Clarity and even style are relegated simply to make the scene eye-catching. After the initial impression is gone, the piece starts to show its many flaws so that the result is a shadow of what it promises at first sight.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: At a glance God Staff Jax seems to be a skin that continues the line of God Fist Lee Sin; which could also include Radiant Wukong. The ceremonial armour rich with golden decoration and the elaborate cape which almost passes as a coat imply that we can be before a high priest or monk, master of his art. The trousers and boots are simple in comparison but also practical which added to the glowing hand and staff show that there’s more to this flashy looking character. There’s no doubt that a dose of magic is present and the beads around the waist give a tame Eastern touch. The golden mask and stylish hairstyle don’t feel out of place around the elaborate cape and armour but remind a bit too much of Wukong.
The particles, by and large, show golden sparks for auto-attacks as well as glows and trails for abilities. Truth be told, the result seems a bit too straightforward. It works, that can’t be denied but there’s nothing novel about them. Even though the classic design is respected the splashes used for auto-attacks, empowered or not, and Leap Strike are quite pleasing; which they should be being a main tool for Jax. Counterstrike does look too simple with a blue-golden swirl that merely extends outwards.
Sounds rely on metallic clanks that give a distinct identity to the new staff. Auto-attacks and abilities tend to sound similar with variations on the pitch of the clanks. There’s quite a bit of homogeneity and, after a while of hearing the same attacks, monotony. Regardless, it has to be admitted that thanks to the new sounds the staff has a feel of its own.
The new animations given to the auto-attacks and Empower allow them to better fit the staff and also to appear more professional. They imply that the warrior behind them has trained extensively and has enough strength to make them deadly. The new recall starts with a demonstration of power which goes from the martial to the supernatural. The two extra pairs of arms that glow on Jax may indicate that his fast attacks are due to additional, magical limbs; it’s not a bad proposition yet not even suggested by any extra particles in any offensive action. The death also shows Jax stretching his supernatural limbs. It doesn’t go beyond that so while it’s good to see an aspect that sets the skin apart it doesn’t really receive much development: it’s only shown.
Overall, God Staff Jax is a skin that seems quite interesting on paper and appealing in execution. However, the development starts to feel shallow as there’s quite a bit of repetition and empty spaces to further realise the concept. It’s a good skin, there’s no doubt, but would welcome more variety and depth to stand out.

Conclusion

In spite of being an unmatched warrior at the League of Legends, Jax’s attire doesn’t fare as well. Nemesis Jax is the recommended skin as it manages to stay appealing even with its extremely subdued colours. The practical gear and supporting particles lend the skin credibility and style so as to define a clear identity.

A possible alternative is Temple Jax with its distinct Shaolin flavour; as long as you don’t mind the fictionalization. It’s a modest skin but it has a distinct style. Something similar can be said about Warden Jax: it’s a skin that tries to be too many things at once. Nevertheless, it does state one thing clearly: Jax is armour-ready for the fight.

Moving into legacy territory, Jaximus is a bit lacking in terms of implementation but the concept is quite attractive. Still, the price is too high for a re-model. PAX Jax is a fine reference that doesn’t warrant any sacrifices to acquire. Angler Jax is an expensive joke that isn’t developed much. Vandal Jax is not much of a departure from Classic Jax, it isn’t very interesting but as far as spiked clubs go, it’s unmatched. The Mighty Jax is a simple homage that might be more valuable to collectors.

God Staff Jax is a skin with an interesting concept and an execution that ends up suffering from the shallow approach given. There’s too much homogeneity in the skin and also spaces unfilled with potential content. That doesn’t prevent the skin from being good but it surely doesn’t allow it to reach higher.

  1. Can you please do a twitch review?

  2. want to see mordekaiser review

  3. Nice reviews. Corki skins review next please

  4. Can you guys PLEASE do a Olaf Review? I am extremely surprised that he doesn’t has one yet. Considering he has been out for almost 3 years.

  5. Hello Zero,

Temple Jax reminds me very much of Yoshimitsu from Soul Caliber series. Is Temple Jax, by any chance, a reference to Yoshimitsu?

    Thanks!

    • There is a passing resemblance but Yoshimitsu is more of a ninja than a monk. We don’t know of any official statements about a reference. Regardless, it’s still a possibility though chances are that it isn’t so close to a ninja.

      • Ok thanks! May buy due to the possible reference!

        • Truth be told, references aren’t always clear so it’s understandable that a shadow of a doubt can be usually cast over a skin’s sources. There have been a few skins that a developer has explicitly mentioned along a reference but usually it’s mostly a guessing game.

  6. Zero, I like skins that respect the lore and i know jax’ skins that do respect the lore are not very good, so what do you think?

    • You could say that Jax’s skins are mostly costumes with new weapons. To be fair, Jax’s lore seems rather unexploited and underdeveloped. After all, besides being an unbeateable champion there’s little else known about him. That considered, the skins are acceptable despite struggling to be something that stands out.

  7. I love what you have done with this website and how it has grown since i first visited it! Congrats!

Also could you do the SKT T1 skins review? I’m an ious to see what you think of them

    • Thanks, people’s feedback has played a big role in improving the site.

Sure, we’ll review the skins as soon as they are released. Let’s hope that they do justice to each champions’ identity.

  8. CAN YOU PLS MAKE A SKT T1 SKIN REVIEW PLS!!!!!!!!!

  9. By the way Zero, i just wanted to point out you wrote Lee Sin on the Skt jax skin

  10. For the SKT skin, there is a new sound for his auto attacks.

    • Thanks for the notice, we updated the SKT T1 review but not his own review. The Grandmaster won’t like this…

  11. Hey Zero, have you noticed Primetime Draven in the background of the full SKT T1 skins splash? I think it’s kinda cute that he was put there

    • We did notice but weren’t sure at the time who it was. It goes to confirm something we suspected: wherever you go, there’s Draven to see.

  12. this is kinda dumb. good-guy jaximus is clearly one of the best skins in the game, even to the point that i bought it despite being mystery gifted vandal jax (a pretty weak skin in my opinion). skins arent all about how much it changes the design of the character. look up the story behind the jaximus skin and riot’s contribution to make-a-wish. pax jax is also an amazing skin just due to the rarity.

    • While the story behind Jaximus is moving it still doesn’t change the fact that the skin is only a re-model that doesn’t really recreate the look of a gladiator. That’s not to say that the skin is bad or that you shouldn’t like it. On the contrary, if you like the skin you can perfectly consider it more valuable.

Our idea is to guide people to make informed decisions. Jaximus has a significant story behind it but what we assess is what the skin offers in-game. We also don’t think that rarity is something that improves a skin. Tha fact that few people can enjoy a skin doesn’t make it better. Regardless of availability PAX Jax keeps offering the same in-game.

  13. Thank you for such a good post about Jax skins, it helped me

  14. What is the best skin of jax Mr.zero?

    • Mr. Eissen, as we note in the conclusion, Nemesis Jax is the one we recommend. It has a credible style, nice particles and is resonably priced; unlike re-models at 975 RP. If we compare it to the splash art it shows that it doesn’t deliver on the expectations it sets. Regardless, it does enough right that it is an appealing option.

      • Thanks Mr.Zero your blog is very helpful for the lol player that is confuse what to buy a nice skin for their favorite champions like me.thank you very much again!!!have a nice day.

        • Not at all, Mr. Eissen. We are glad to be of help. We hope the site can continue to be a good guide in the purchase of skins; we’ll work hard to that end.

  15. What is the best ingame of jax sir zero nemesis jax, temple jax ,jaximus or warden jax?

    • As we mentioned in the conclusion and the comments above Nemesis is the skin we recommend. The others aren’t bad and have interesting themes but Nemesis stands out.

  16. Is Warden Jax worth the RP?

    • For the most part. It’s not a fantastic skin but it’s quite good and has a good concept. Still, for a bit more RP you can get Nemesis Jax which adds new particles on top of a rather sensible model. If you get the skin on sale then the difference in price is even less pronounced. Warden Jax is good but the execution needed to be more focused to realise the best the concept had to offer.

  17. Should update the temple jax splash

    • We are delayed with the splash art update because the reviews have to be re-done for them and more than one hundred were changed. We’ll try to get to them as soon as possible.

  18. Can you update the temple Hax skin review for his new splash art? I th
Ink it looks much better than the old one.

  19. Its pretty dumb that none of his skins have particle changes. They could do a color change when he does his e or r but they decide not to change a damn thing

    • Nemesis Jax shows purple particles for his abilities but it’s the only one. On the one hand, Jax is a champion based around auto-attacks so there isn’t too much room to add particles. On the other hand, some changes are possible and they could be complemented, at least, by new animations much like Muay Thai Lee Sin does.

  20. The Mighty Ducks skin reference worth nothing at 520 rp? id grade that atleast 3stars for the low price and serious model changes, one of the few cases we disagree 🙂 Keep going great work love your reviews, and as i ve said before they are so much more valuable now with hextech that gives random skinies

    • In-game a reference isn’t of much use unless it supports the skin’s fantasy; which it does in this case. However, it’s a skin that isn’t trying to fit whithin the game and while the changes are relevant it’s also a legacy skin which means a reduce availability and higher expectations for its inability to go on sale. Also take in consideration that the model is simplified in The Might Jax versus that of Classic; even if that makes the skin stand out..

Adding it all together, if The Mighty Jax were a normal skin then it would get three stars. Given the conditions mentioned above we felt that the skin could’ve done a bit more to feel special. It’s an old skin so we understand the limitations but that also means that they are clearer to see.

  21. NEW JAX SKIN BAYBEE!

  22. By my side i found the god staff jax really pleasant to play so i don’t know why you choose only 3 stars ^^

But amazing review as always keep going <3

    • Hope you enjoy the skin. Truth be told we like the idea of God Staff Jax but we found the adaptation to waste a lot of the potential of the concept. The main issue is that it could’ve easily added more of a divine aspect and better use of the extra arms present. The new attack animations are nice but they aren’t as significant of a change as they could’ve been.

In the end, it’s a good skin but just doesn’t convince as good enough for four stars. It needs to have changes that really matter and while there’s appeal in the skin it isn’t really impressive. It could, though, which is the greatest disappointment.
