Skins: Pool Party Renekton, Pentakill Karthus and Royal Guard Fiora
Champions: Syndra, Maokai and Karthus
Some relax at a pool party and others vibrate in a concert but some are dedicated to guarding peace. This weekend sale brings to us an example of each so let’s give them a look.
As far as funny skins go Pool Party Renekton offers a lot to make his whimsical concept work. It surely tries hard to appeal but there are very good alternatives for the Butcher. In the end, it’s an interesting diversion that doesn’t impress but works well.
Equal parts rock tribute and convoluted reference Pentakill Karthus is neither inspiring nor funny. It stays firmly in the middle as a skin that has a distinct identity but that isn’t completely developed. Fans of rock and singing liches might want to give it a try.
A grand duellist as a Musketeer is a natural fit so Royal Guard Fiora is a skin with a great idea behind it. The implementation doesn’t disappoint as the new clothes and weapons nicely represent the intended concept. Add to this its low price and we find a fantastic skin for fans of fencing.
So much untapped power makes Syndra a perfect candidate for helping avoid IP farming. As a vegetal Maokai knows a thing or two about farming but IP is something different, and it shows. At any rate, don’t worry much about Karthus because his IP needs are rather reasonable; he can always rely on Pentakill to make some extra money.
With her Atlantean travels still too new to reach a sale Syndra’s left with only one option. She will have to keep working as a Justicar as she’s done since the beginning. It’s possible her fee will go down in the future but it hasn’t since July, 2013. At any rate, it’s evident she’s taking her time.
Harrowing slowly approaches and so the time for Haunted Maokai comes. In the meantime, we can reminisce about the time he got all Charred, in April, or the time he got his bark carved with Totemic figures; in October. He’s also been seen as a Christmas tree but it seems that’s not his thing. Better to wait for his better moments.
Pentakill might be more than a band for some but for Karthus is just one of many ways of making money. After all, who would dress like a Statue as he did on August? Now if we are talking about becoming a Grim Reaper that’s something else; though it’s been a year since we’ve seen him do that. Well, it’s just a matter of patience perhaps; it’s bound to come in the end.
