League of Legends: Sion Skins’ Review – StrategyZero
Apr 232013

Sion, the Undead Juggernaut
Sion, the Undead Juggernaut

Sion, the Undead Juggernaut may be dead but in spite of that he perseveres trying multiple professions. Whether logging, hammering or fighting he’s not undead that disregards looks. Thus, before furiously taking to battle, gaze at his skins’ review and find what’s behind this champion’s cryptic style.

Hextech Sion
Hextech Sion Splash Art Hextech Sion Model
Category: Legacy
Price: 520 RP
Concept: Sion as a zombie warrior improved with hextech technology.
Model: Major model changes for Sion and new model for his axe, Chopper.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: This piece simply lacks a background. There are some colours on the right side but they are a poor excuse to mask its absence. Conversely, Sion gives some idea of his look: the outline is mostly clear and the colours passable; yet the legs look rather drab. Still, there’s some nice shading used for the stitches and reflections. Truth be told, it’s a splash art that its past its due and that gives only a general idea of Sion’s hextech.

Conclusion: If anyone ever wanted to know how a hextech cyborg could look then this isn’t a bad answer. The blue skin is puzzling and makes his trousers difficult to notice; though they are there, fortunately. However, the technological enhancements look rather good and add a different air of monstrous power. One thing to notice is that when in movement the metal plates look quite flexible and stretchy which breaks the fantasy. In essence, we still have an undead juggernaut but with a different style. Fans of Sion will find it an interesting alternative with a touch of technology.

Barbarian Sion
Barbarian Sion Splash Art Barbarian Sion Model
Category: Regular
Price: 750 RP
Concept: Sion as a brutish axe-wielding warrior.
Model: Moderate model changes for Sion and new model for his axe, Chopper.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: Emtpy black on the left and a mess of green elsewhere make the background a chaos of olive shades. A devastated battlefield covered in troops can be guessed but details are few and extremely unclear. Sion appears between a triumphant stance over a defeated warrior and a forward step with an expression that shows ferocity tainted by the toll and indifference proper of war. Unfortunately, Sion’s portrayal seems quite crude: his muscles aren’t well placed so his abdomen looks twisted, his back protruding to the right, his left bicep flat, the pectorals stretched and the rest made to fill the spaces in between. On top of this, his hands seem to be covered by leather gloves, though that shouldn’t be the case, the axe seems small and the fur looks like hay. All in all, it’s a rather rough and inexact depiction of Sion and his surroundings that lacks polish and asks for a replacement.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: As close to a human warrior as Sion can get his brutality fits the usual depiction of a barbarian. The new look does tidy his aspect a good bit but there are still hints of his perseverance. After all, the loss of his left foot hasn’t stopped him and his helmet and axe do look well tailored for his favoured task. Still, the skin seems to be lacking in personality. It states that Sion would be a bestial warrior but nothing else. In other words, it mostly removes his undead aspect without adding much else. The result is still interesting so it’s an option for a more human-looking juggernaut.

Lumberjack Sion
Lumberjack Sion Splash Art Lumberjack Sion Model
Category: Regular
Price: 520 RP
Concept: Sion as a logger with metallic prosthetics.
Model: Major model changes for Sion and new model for his axe, Chopper.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: The background is simple as the plains it depicts; thanks to the effective logging. The setting is clear but rather empty and unassuming. Sion stands proudly before his work with an inflated chest and proportions that are too exaggerated. He looks acceptably shaded but the outline places him closer to a caricature than a portrayal. On the whole, the piece barely does its job but doesn’t convince with its sketchy nature and unfaithful portrayal.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: With a wooden jaw and a log for left foot one gets the idea that Lumberjack Sion is trying to be funny. Even though his cap, jeans and boot look quite clean while the heavily dented axe, worn shirt and mechanical parts add the gritty aspects missing. This makes the appearance a mixed bag of clean and worn elements as well as wood prosthetics opposing technological ones. Truth be told, the logger reference is there but muddled by unexplainable additions. In the end, it’s a sort of heavily and unevenly rough lumberman that certainly stands out from the norm; if only because of the dissimilar combination of items.

Warmonger Sion
Warmonger Sion Splash Art Warmonger Sion Model
Category: Regular
Price: 975 RP
Concept: Sion as a sinister undead knight.
Model: Major model changes for Sion and new model for his axe, Chopper.
Particles: No new particles.
Animations: No new animations.
Sounds: No new sounds.
Splash Art: A tenebrous wasteland is the setting and while dust storms may be usual that doesn’t make the diffuse shading any more palatable. Sion appears wielding his afterlife powers as tortured, crimson ghosts surround him. The armour is well depicted and his body reflects his broad physique correctly. The shading is nothing astounding but works despite the sketchy axe and thick brush strokes for hand glow. In the end, it’s a piece that offers an acceptable portrayal but that suffers from a draft-like quality.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Outfitting an undead juggernaut with good armour and a double-bladed axe is not a bad way of improving effectiveness. Warmonger Sion adds better equipment and refines the undead elements to make a more classic undead warrior. The pale skin and skinless jaw are the ones in charge of communicating the undead part; albeit thinly. The missing left foot doesn’t say much by itself. The armour incorporates the deadly looks but struggles to differentiate itself from the skin: their drab colours tend to mesh with each other. The axe is a lethal enough statement though its faded aspect doesn’t help the argument. When all elements are put together we find that the skin tries to portray Sion as a lethal undead warrior but ends up looking rather washed out. Considering its price, Warmonger Sion doesn’t add much flare or style and seems to do little by itself. Therefore, unless you are a dedicated Sion fan or collector, better to skip it.

Mecha Zero Sion
Mecha Zero Sion Splash Art Mecha Zero Sion Model
Category: Legendary
Price: 1820 RP
Concept: Sion as a transforming, giant robot.
Model: New model for Sion and his axe plus new platform for his respawn and recall. New glow for his body and weapon.
Particles: New particles for his abilities, auto-attack, laugh and high-speed run.
Animations: Adapted animations for his abilities, auto-attack, critical hits, walk and standing idle. New animations for his high-speed run, emotes, capture channel, death, respawn, recall and new train transformation for Unstoppable Onslaught.
Sounds: New sounds for his abilities, auto-attack, respawn and recall. New voice-over and quotes for his abilities, placing wards, death, recall and buying items, taunting certain enemies, starting a match.
Splash Art: A fuzzy installation but one where distances may be more startling to the yordle at the bottom than the giant mech; perhaps not. The setting is a classic choice with no surprises but effectively frames the star of the piece. The dimensions aren’t as impactful as they could had the background been more detailed but it manages to set things in motion.
Sion stands as the gargantuan robot that captures all the attention. The energy burns bright and the surfaces look complex and full of details. The perspective prevents a clear view but the colossal dimensions are better displayed that way. The few yordles that work on the machine should be sure that it won’t make any sudden movements as a rope seems a fragile safety measure. In spite of this impressive immensity, one can wonder why the torso of the robot is brightly depicted but everything around it is foggy. The arms may be farther away but the legs are right in front of the viewer so the depth of field effect seems to be more capricious than it should. Also, why is the left arm so sharply displayed while the one with the weapon is diffuse? They may be small complaints but noticeable, like the lack of illumination and dull surfaces; complex design aside.
Overall, this is a splash art that balances out the compromises of its chosen perspective with an awe-inspiring depiction. Sadly, the robot isn’t portrayed in the most exciting of ways with weak lights to shine on its complex body. The result is rather dull and a bit anticlimactic given the interesting setup. The background, merely frames Sion with a sensible setting but also lets down. So, the composition is a success but the execution leaves a bit to be desired.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Even though Mecha Zero Sion keeps a veiled trail of classic assets it keeps only what works and modifies as necessary to make a clearly effective adaptation into a mechanical wonder. The new model is interesting with multiple parts attached on top of a main body. The design can seem whimsical at times but the subsequent transformations explain the reasons that shape the body structure. The new glows enhance the technological feel of the skin so that the new aspect is attractive, recognizable but novel at the same time.
The new particles follow the, by now, familiar hexagonal scheme that skins from the Mecha brand rely upon. In spite of that they are attractive, especially those used for Decimating Smash and Soul Furnace. In both cases, the visual and aural feedback is powerful and appealing. Much the same can be said about the passive, Glory in Death, yet the audio is uneven and lacks content between the initial explosion and resulting death. None of these abilities receive new animations but they are adapted in some aspects to better fit the artificial behaviour; just like the auto-attacks, walk, standing idle and other basic activities. Roar of the Slayer stands in a conventional spot: the particles seem inconsequential but it’s the new sound and animation that save the skill.
Without doubt there has to be a special mention for Unstoppable Onslaught. It’s the first ability that takes advantage of the Transformers angle of the Mecha line and uses it with great effect. Not everything about the ultimate is new but the transformation steals the show; aided by the chugging sounds. Added to the respawn and recall animations the transforming robot theme is effectively presented and with ample appeal.
When all is added together, Mecha Zero Sion is a skin that could’ve and probably should’ve further modified animations to better finish the robot identity. Regular actions do feel satisfying but also familiar with too much organic Sion in the artificial Mecha Zero. At the legendary level, a skin needs to give more importance to the concept and leave behind all traces of the original personality of the champion to make a full conversion. Fortunately, the skin compensates with the integration of three animations that successfully present the transforming robot theme. Thanks to them, as well as some appealing particles and sounds, Mecha Zero Sion is a worthwhile addition for fans of robots.

Conclusion

Undead tend not to care much about looks but Sion seems to be the exception. His skins demonstrate some versatility but also a good deal of reused assets as they are all based on his classic model. The recommended skin is Barbarian Sion as it delivers a concise message that is as limited as it is appealing.

An alternative for those that like the wonders of technology: Hextech Sion. It is a convincing enough steampunk, undead cyborg. It keeps the core beastly theme but adds a technological angle to the mix; which doesn’t end up looking bad.

Something more eclectic is Lumberjack Sion: a skin that seems to integrate humour, technology and brutality all together. This pastiche ends up lacking focus but if you look for a very tough lumberjack then it’s there.

Warmonger Sion is a skin that pretends to make the juggernaut look even deadlier but that doesn’t accomplish its objective quite well. The new equipment is reasonably designed but the drab colour palette works against it. At this price point the skin should offer more interesting additions so it’s better to rely on cheaper alternatives.

The legendary option is actually quite an attractive proposition for fans of robots. Mecha Zero Sion does keep the classic feel in several areas but when the skin puts its best features to work the theme comes to life in a satisfying way. For a legendary skin it needs an extra layer of work in the adaptation. Nevertheless, it’s an appealing version that takes the transformation aspect to the forefront. For that reason, fans of robots will find it a great choice.

  1. I really hope they give sion a re-model..i dont even understand that sejuani got a re-model earlier than sion. 🙁

    • Sion is definitely in dire need of a visual upgrade. The case of Sejuani is that of a convoluted development that Riot wanted to fix to tie into the release of the Howling Abyss. As it happened with the new Twisted Treeline, a release of a new map, champion, skins and lore will be made in one package.

Sion will have to wait for now as many others.

      • No need to wait. Sion VU is here 😉 Finally

        • It took its time. Now let’s see if it’s good because recent gameplay updates seem to reuse abilities from other champions.

          • I’ve heard all his other skins will be receiving updated splash arts, can’t wait! 😀

          • He’s in dire need of updated splash arts though previous champions with visual upgrades will be envious. In other visual upgrades there was only a new classic splash art and in Yi’s case not even that.

  2. But as of now, IMO, Sion is the one that needs a rework BADLY. Even though some of his skins would’ve looked awesome, his model is just..let’s say not good. Take a look at barbarian, a living human sion that looks plain weird because of the model 🙁 for you, zero, which champ do you think needs a rework BADLY? 🙂

    • Actually, we agree that Sion should be high in the visual upgrade list. His style is a mix of comical and grotesque which doesn’t fit well with the direction League of Legends has taken. Others that should receive an upgrade are Sivir, Ryze and Master Yi to name a handful. Their styles tends to be caricature-esque so they doesn’t fit well within the polished and lean aesthetic currently in use. For instance, these champions all have oversized footwear and cartoon-like looks.

For contrast, Akali would benefit from a visual upgrade but her lean aesthetic meshes better with recent champions than the previously mentioned. The same can be said about Anivia; though in both cases a good layer of polish would be welcome.

      • Yeah you are totally right. the older champions models aren’t that good looking now but..they changed twisted fate and annie right? that’s at least 1 step in the right direction

        • Indeed, let’s hope that the new adaptations are able to refine yet keep the iconic characteristics of the champions. According to Ironstylus, Sivir and Sion are coming next, the first as a battle princess and the second as an undead destroyer. Let’s see how they turn out.

  3. Here’s a skin idea, how about, “Pre-death Sion”. Basically Sion before he died and got brought back to life by Swain and Vladmir. What do you think Zero?

    • Not a bad idea at all and actually feasible. After all, the new Sion doesn’t look as decrepit as the old one. Sounds interesting but they should make it different to the usual berserker warrior and also relevant with regards to the lore. We’ll have to wait and see.

  4. Given the Sion rework, and the massive amount of changes given too all his Skins, will you please update this review sometime in the future?

  5. Maybe you should make reviews of classic skins……?

    • It’s a possibility but we find that as they are our frame of reference to review skins when reviewing a classic skin what would our frame of reference be? We can’t consider other classic skins because newer champion and those that received a visual upgrade have a clear advantage. Besides, classic skins aren’t really paid products as there is the possibility of unlocking them without spending money. Therefore, how could we analyse the value of classic skin?

There is the matter of whether a skin represents its proposed fantasy well. However, newer skins do have an advantage due to better technology behind them; even though they may not make the most of it.

It’s certainly an idea that we haven’t discarded but we find it difficult to find a way to make a review that would say something useful. A possibility could be to identify the base attributes and features of a skin but that really wouldn’t be a review just a list of components. Also they are usually plain to see as there isn’t much merit in noting that Sion is an undead warrior.

We’ll keep thinking about it and we appreciate suggestions. For the time being we don’t see how we could review the skins in a meaningful way.

  6. i think a lumberjack skin is pretty good with his tower attack animation he swing his axe at the middle of tower like its a tree.

    • It’s not a bad idea but the skin is actually a mix of steampunk cyborg and lumberjack which is a bit puzzling. Still it looks good though it’s not really great.

  7. Hi,
    Two questions:

1: Do you think Sion will be receiving any new skins in the future?

2: Do you think Hextech Sion will ever be on sale again? (If so, when would you estimate?)

    Thanks

    • Sion should get new skins in the future because he only has re-models. However, with some many champions vying for attention there’s no telling when he’ll receive one. So, it’s better to approach the prospect of a new skin with very careful optimism.

As a retired legacy skin Hextech Sion will probably be back on sale, and also discounted, at the annual Legacy Skin Vault sale that usually happens at the end of the year. If previous years are any indication you should be able to get the skin at half price.

  8. Hello, i got the lumberjack sion skin at 70%discount (156RP) as well i got 70% on Woad King Darius (I dont have Darius, so its 584RP)

So what do you think? Please answer :c

    thanks!

    • Not bad prices for the skins. In fact, quite good. Don’t get carried away by low prices though, because you can end up with a pile of skins you may not use. If you are interested in the skin then a low price is great news; especially when the price is the major obstacle to getting it. Just make sure that the low price doesn’t hide the actual interest and value you have for the skin.

That said, if you like the skins then those discounts are great. Hope you enjoy them.

      • I like them both. I have to pay more for Darius but i can unlock him before so the price is waaay lower. The sion is 156RP. Thanks, ill probably end with both, haha

        • If you can unlock Darius with IP then it’s a great option. You save money by playing; which was to be done anyway. Have fun with the new skins.

          • I got Darius with IP. It´s my favorite darius skin so i just got it. It was 292RP only.. For that price, is 5 stars for me. In the case of Sion, its 156RP, its quite cheap but it isnt a really high priced skin. Ill probably get it since i like the skin. Also, i wanted to get Battle boss blitzcrank as well(30%-945RP) Since i saw your review, it looks like a pretty good skin but a bit overpriced. And you say that for 975 is a good deal, i got it at 945. 🙂

            Sorry for english :3

          • a error on my comment, i havent got it already, its i get it at 945

          • Don’t worry, everything is understood. Hope you enjoy the skins.

With regards to Battle Boss Blitzcrank, 30% off isn’t that great of a discount. If you can wait then it’ll go on sale eventually with a 50% discount and that’s a much better proposition at 675 RP. It depends how much you like Blitz and the Battle Boss style.

As skin expenses accumulate rapidly we recommend patience. Besides, it’d give you time to enjoy the skins you already got. Of course, if you are a huge fan of B.B. Blitz then it’s tempting but it’s all a matter of time with sales. In the long run, relying on sales can save quite a bit of money so that’s something to keep in mind. Patience bears fruit.

  9. Hello admin! I wanted to know if Lumberjack sion was in sale recently and what would the estimated time be, if you had any idea. I wanted to pick him up as it seems the best one of the bunch(at least for me)

    —-Thanks!

    • According to what we know it was last discounted on October. Hopefully, with the expanded format of sales it won’t take too long to be discounted but it’ll certainly take a while.

  10. What do you think about the upcoming mecha sion skin?

    • Seems quite good. We’ll have to give it a good look but there’re some nice additions. Let’s see if it all amount to something worthwhile.

  11. Hey Zero, the new Mecha Zero Sion skin was put in the PBE recently. Really interested in it because i’m a Sion main. There really is no good skins for him right now so i’m excited to see this one. Hope to see a review from you soon!

    • Once it’s released we’ll have a review shortly afterwards. From what we’ve seen there’re some good features in Mecha Zero Sion. The best is the use of his transformations not only in the recall and respawn but also in the ultimate because it makes that aspect matter. It’s looking like a good skin, let’s see if the PBE lets it improve a bit more.

  12. Perhaps Mecha Zero Sion is a legendary skin? I wish that would make him an unstoppable robot warrior now. However I’m just irritated to his color, though it is explainable since he is a construction vehicle. Otherwise, all of it are good especially when he is transforming, which cements the theme.

Waiting for your review though, to see what’s new.

    • Mecha Zero is a legendary skin and the first that does something meaningful with the transformation by integrating it into the ultimate. We think that there’s room for improvement as there are many classic animations that are only adapted to the new body but not redone with a proper robot feel. It’s passable but at a legendary level that’s not what is expected; it’s not a cheap skin. So far, it seems to be a good skin but the cut corners don’t work in its favour.

  13. Are you going to review the bundles that came with the Mechs?

    • We weren’t aware of the bundles that’s why we didn’t review them. We gave them a quick look and seeing what they offer we don’t think we can contribute much. We probably won’t have an overview. It’s rather clear that they are inflated with extra content so it’s a matter of whether one is prepared to pay for said additions. We aren’t sure about the discount but even at 50% they make us pay more for the extras so it’s not the best option for those that just want the skins.

  14. You might want to get rid of any mentions of “Chopper” in the Sion skin reviews. He stopped being a joke long ago.

    • Chopper lives on besides Sion. If someone finds themselves before the big guy and he says “Meet Chopper” we doubt anyone will deem it a joke.

Actually, we don’t know if the axe changed its name. We think a name makes it more special and it can be a sarcastic label for Sion’s preferred tool. It’s probably his kind of deadpan humour considering his jokes. Besides, if you see Sion dance then Chopper isn’t too much of a stretch.

  15. when will mecha zion be on sale?

    • Mecha Zero Sion was released in April and as a legendary skin can only go into an early sales; which happen only after six months have elapsed. That means that Mecha Zero won’t go on sale any sooner than October. Afterwards, it’s a matter of when it will get into an early sale.

  16. All the backrounds (besides mecha) were updated 🙂

    • We are aware. More than one hundred splash arts were updated in the past months and we are trying to keep up with everything as we have to re-write the splash reviews. We’ll to try to update everything as soon as we are able.

  17. are you going to update the splash arts?

    • We are updating them but there are over a hundred splash arts to review again. We’ll try to do it as quickly as we can but it will take time due to the magnitude of the update.

  18. Sion’s title is still the same one he had like over three years ago before his rework. Personally I hated that title, so bland and uncreative.

    • Well, it’s not as if the new one is a revolution in undead public relations either. Still, we should update it. Thanks for the notice.

  19. When will you guys do the reviews for his updated splash arts? It has been months now

    • Over a hundred splash arts were updated and we are prioritising new content so it’ll take a while. We’ll get to it eventually, though. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  20. In your opinion, what’s your favorite legendary skin?

    • It’s difficult to choose just one but we tend to like the ones with a high rating. Their complex and elaborate adaptations are usually quite attractive. That aside, there are others we like that could receive some extra work to realise all of their potential like Aether Wing Kayle or Zombie Brand. We can see and like the potential on such skins but they leave you wanting for that final layer of development of their concepts that would unite each feature into an appealing whole.

  21. Hi Zero! Just wanted to ask for your opinion. 🙂
I’ve been playing a lot at the top lane recently and I got the chance to buy a skin, but I have trouble choosing between Mecha Zero Sion and Super Galaxy Rumble. I like both champions equally, and since I love robots, I wanted to buy either skins.
A con on MZS (for me) is that it’s orange. The color’s too bright and the model’s too bulky.
On the other hand, SGR is a skin too widely used especially by Pro Gamers. I feel like it’s the only good skin on Rumble, so everyone who plays him and can afford the skin buys it.
TL;DR, I’m stuck between an orange bulky transformer and an anime (w/c I really love) reference skin that’s a bit overused.
Can I ask for your opinion on my dilemma? Thanks a lot!

P.S. Awesome reviews btw. Everytime I want to buy a skin, I always check out your detailed and specific reviews. Keep up the good work!

    • Thanks for the kind words. Glad that you find the reviews useful.

From what you say the choice is between an attractive skin with a colour and size you don’t like and an attractive skin that you see too often; by the way, there’s no doubt that Super Galaxy Rumble is his most satisfying skin so far. It seems like a compromise must be made.

On the one hand, Mecha Zero Sion is supposed to be a large transformer with bright colours as it’s a clear homage to the similarly looking robots. Granted, the style is different and you don’t have to like the specific implementation despite how sensible it may seem. This leaves us with Super Galaxy Rumble which is quite a good skin. That’s countered by the fact that you often see it but you do like it, right? Is it really a problem that you have faced the skin many times? Because one thing is fighting against the skin and another is playing with it.

We understand, though, you have seen it so often that it probably holds no secrets anymore so it doesn’t feel novel. You could say that the enthusiasm for the skin is washed out due to overexposure. We’d counter that by saying that if you do like the skin then sooner or later, by playing a skin you like a lot often, that will happen with any skin, eventually. Sure, in this case it happens in the beginning.

In conclusion, we have Mecha Zero Sion which is a good skin but you have some issues with it. With Super Galaxy Rumble, you simply like the skin. It’s just that you have seen it to often. This means that there’s fault in Mecha Zero itself but none in Super Galaxy. Chances are that it could happen to other skins you like as good skins tend to be popular. In a way, it’s a price to pay when you like a good product; it’s inevitably become popular. Different would be if you simply liked Mecha Zero. In the end, choose the skin you like the most but it sounds like that one is Super Galaxy. Mecha Zero could be better in your eyes and that’s not going to be different while a change of lane for a while could help ease on the frequency of Super Galaxy so that it can surprise you a bit when you buy it.

      • Thank you very much for that thorough distinction! I didn’t even realize that ’til now. True, I like both but I had problems with the Mecha Zero skin itself, not with how other players use the skin.
I’m gonna go and buy the SGR. You’re right, though it may seem overused, it also shows that a lot of players, especially the Pro Players, acknowledge how great the skin is.
Again, thank you very much for the awesome opinion! Love you Zero <3

  22. OMG why do you guys waste time making short texts for skin sales instead of updating older reviews? Sion, Trundle, Twitch, Karma and Nida all received new splashes and after a year you still have old ones up…..

    • We think that sales are relevant enough to warrant dedicating time to them. We also think that splash arts’ relevance extends only as presentation cards for the skins with negligible meaning in-game. There’s also the fact that we were flooded by over a hundred splash arts updated in few months. We don’t have as much time as we’d like to update the site and so we prioritise new content.

That said, we apologise for the inconvenience as the site should be up to date. We want to but lack the resources to do as much as we’d like to. Chroma reviews aren’t up to date either and that’s something we have to focus on for the eventual IP sale. There are a lot of champions, over a hundred, and thousands of skins; without exaggerating. Keeping the site up to date can feel overwhelming but we are trying our best.

  23. Would you recommend Infernal Nasus or Mecha Zero Sion? I like both champs equally.

    • Both champions are very different yet the skins have much in common. We found that Mecha Zero Sion’s identity is quite centred on the ultimate where he transforms into a train. The rest of the abilities employ classic version of the animation adapted to the new model. Particles are good but sounds passable.

With Infernal Nasus features aren’t more evenly distributed. The ultimate is still a high point in the skin with two new animated heads for the Cerberus reference. Particles are also good but sounds passable.

In both cases the skins economise on animations except for the ultimate. Truth be told, both are good skins with appealing identities. Do you like a hellish canine or a transforming robot more? Neither skin should disappoint and as they are legendary there’s no rush to buy as they won’t see discounts in the future; in theory. We don’t find any skin to have a clear advantage over the other so it’s largely a matter of personal preference.

  24. I just got a reduced price on warmonger Sion and I always come here for advice when I’m not certain, do you think the skin is worth to purchase?

I am mastery 6 on Sion with 2 shards so I play him regularly but I have yet to purchase a skin the reduced cost is down to 292 rp!

    • Glad to help.

Warmonger Sion is all about the new model so if you like it then 292 RP is a difficult price to beat. The question is if you like the skin. The low price is tempting but you should buy the skin because you like it not because it’s cheap. If you do like it then this is a great opportunity to get it. If it’s actually the price that you like then it’s better to buy something you do like and enjoy.

  25. Are you ever going to update Sion’s skins reviews in accordance with his new splash arts ? Because the current posted reviews are discussing his old splashes only (aside from Mecha Zero).

    • You are right, we are trying to keep everything up to date while not getting delayed with new content but sometimes things do get delayed. We’ll try to update the review when we are able. Sorry for the inconvenience.
