Jinx, the Loose Cannon
Jinx, the Loose Cannon

Destruction, utter and complete demolition of buildings and straight faces; what is not to like? Jinx comes to light the day, and the fuse, until it all falls down in happy debris. On top of that, she’s not only doing it multiple times, she dares do it with the style of different time periods. Keep reading and find out more about Jinx’s peculiar sense of fashion.

Mafia Jinx
Mafia Jinx Splash Art Mafia Jinx Model
Category: Regular
Price: 975 RP
Concept: Jinx as a flapper from the Roaring Twenties.
Model: Major model changes for Jinx and new models for her rocket launcher Fishbones, minigun Pow-Pow and shock gun Zapper.
Particles: New particles for Zap!, Flame Chompers! and Super Mega Death Rocket!.
Animations: New animations for Switcheroo!, recall and dance.
Sounds: New sounds for her recall and music for her dance. New quotes when moving, attacking and using Zap!.
Splash Art: This piece makes a strong statement about Jinx’s personality applied to the Prohibition Era. Starting with the background, it suffers from an intense blur as depth of field and the right side is a nondescript mess of shapes. On the other hand, the left side shines with multiple champion references like Miss Fortune, Twitch and, possibly, Urgot. Moreover, Jinx’s portrayal is fantastic, not only is the spectacular shading and lighting fascinating but the pose is dynamic, feasible and provides a good look at her. From the meticulous delicacy of her dress’ tassels to the glowing pearls and folds on the gloves, this depiction is a pleasure to behold. On the whole, it’s a splash art that suffers from a less than ideal background but it might as well be one of the best champion portrayals in the whole League of Legends.

Conclusion: Mafia Jinx adopts a different angle to transport a champion into the 1920’s. Instead of going straight to the underground of the Prohibition Era it switches towards the trendy Roaring Twenties. The flapper style is refreshing and also allows for a more playful style that fits such a liberal approach to life. The model looks a bit flat in terms of textures but the modelled elements are correct. The pearl necklace could have been longer and worn with several loops or even twists or knots as it looks comically big. Furthermore, the simple fingerless gloves seem out of place as something more elaborate would’ve fitted better; or simply with covered fingers. The new dance is a clever addition but the recall seems a bit whimsical. However, the transformation of her cello case into a minigun is quite nice and offsets the preposterous cannon on her back. Overall, Mafia Jinx is a fine skin that will appeal to fans of vintage styles as it’s a reasonably well done adaptation with a unique style.

Firecracker Jinx
Firecracker Jinx Splash Art Firecracker Jinx Model
Category: Regular
Price: 1350 RP
Concept: Jinx as a dragon-styled fireworks expert.
Model: New model for Jinx, her rocket launcher Fishbones, minigun Pow-Pow and shock gun Zapper.
Particles: New particles for her abilities, auto-attack and recall.
Animations: New animations for Switcheroo! and recall.
Sounds: New sounds for her abilities, auto-attack and recall.
Splash Art: With mayhem all around her Jinx makes her way precariously holding to a dragon shaped rocket; makes perfect sense. The chaotic and explosive background is a good fit for Jinx but also feels lacking in elements that could be exploding or burning; even if she wouldn’t leave much standing behind. Still, the abundance of sparks makes it clear that Jinx is on to something.
Speaking of which, Jinx’s depiction is excellent with a suitable cartoon style that incorporates unpolished bronze to contrast the sudden brightness she brings to the scene. The shading is a bit simple on Jinx though and clearly contrasts with the detail offered by the metal; as if two images were imposed one atop the other.
In the sum of its parts, the splash art succeeds. The setting is simple but eloquent and Jinx puts her heart in display for all to see. While it has some problems it’s a fantastic scene that displays Jinx in her element. Therefore, it could very well be considered one of League of Legends best splash arts.

Conclusion: Translating Jinx’s mayhem to the realm of pyrotechnics isn’t much of a stretch. In fact, she seems to be right at home. In that regard, there’s no doubt that the most relevant feature offered by Firecracker Jinx is the eye-catching firework particles and also sounds. That’s because while Jinx’s aspect is nice it isn’t more than appropriate. Although, the ornamented dragon design of her weapons, Fishbones and Pow-Pow, is attractive with its golden dragon heads over dark shades.
Still, the real highlight is the fantastic firework particles that are effectively complemented by new sounds. Explosions tend to be stylized while sparks aren’t as plentiful as one would expect. Nonetheless, the general feel is appealing. Being fireworks they also carry the disadvantage of feeling less deadly than actual explosions but it’s an understandable compromise.
Strangely, Zap! looks disappointing as it abruptly ends without impact. The contrary can be said when shooting the Super Mega Death Rocket!: it initially looks just like a dragon styled projectile; only once it explodes does it reveal its appeal. For some reason, unlike her auto-attack and other abilities, her ultimate doesn’t leave a trail of sparks as it travels.
All things considered, Firecracker Jinx is a stunning skin despite the absence of actual firecrackers. The problem is that despite how attractive it all is there really isn’t any addition that explains the high price: the modifications are similar to those offered by cheaper skins. Therefore, this is a great looking and sounding skin but also a peculiarly expensive one. If you are a big fan of Jinx or fireworks then catch it on sale.

Slayer Jinx
Slayer Jinx Splash Art Slayer Jinx Model
Category: Legacy
Price: 1350 RP
Concept: Jinx as a zombie-huntress.
Model: New model for Jinx, her rocket launcher Fishbones, minigun Pow-Pow and shock gun Zapper. New smoke for Pow-Pow.
Particles: New particles for her abilities and auto-attack.
Animations: New animations for Switcheroo!, Zap! and recall.
Sounds: New sounds for Get Excited!, Switcheroo!, Zap!, Super Mega Death Rocket!, auto-attack and recall.
Splash Art: In the distance, explosions destroy what the zombies haven’t. The red fumes cover most of what remains but one can guess that there isn’t much to see. At least that’s the idea, because the background is notable for its poor quality with regards to the simple and dull depiction of the setting. The foreground is, fortunately, the complete opposite. Here we find the zombie slayers enjoying their job against the hordes of the undead. The stains on their clothes and bodies show that they like the get quite involved in the activity. However, they are being flanked by an unusual enemy. In this area, the context is not only clearer but also more meaningful. While the zombie horde is suggested more than shown their presence is clear. The only exception to the emptiness of the background is the presence of a certain legendary undead that has his flames ready to join the battle; if he can stagger there on time. The vertical stripe on the left of Jinx and Pantheon’s splash art also catches the eye but isn’t as evocative.
Without a doubt the portrayal of the champions at combat is the central part of the piece. Their portrayal exhibits a magnificent use of colour and light that manages an attractive display. Their combat poses don’t compete with the need to allow a clear view and their expressions are reminiscent of their joy. Even the regular zombie on the corner of the foreground displays quite a bit of detail. Each surface and texture is meticulously drawn and shaded with the correct use of depth of field effects; which adds to the portrayal. It’s only when certain elements move towards the background, like Pantheon’s jetpack, that they become sketchy. For the most part, each champion has their place and their personality is eloquently presented. So, between Jinx’s dementia, Pantheon’s blood lust, Nunu’s derangement and Willump’s ferocity there’s much to appreciate.
Ultimately, it is an uneven splash art. The background, though clearly secondary in importance, is plain and uninteresting. In stark contrast, the foreground takes the reins of the whole piece and presents a battle for survival that shows the best that each champion has to offer. In consequence, this is a great portrayal backed by a disappointingly presented setting.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: At a glance, Slayer Jinx is a bit of a disappointing skin. Her appearance seems too similar to her classic one and only the more industrial approach of her weapons differentiates it. Even so, it looks like a normal change of clothes for Jinx: something she could use in her everyday mayhem and not actually custom made for a zombie outbreak survivor. She still looks good but the casual clothing is unremarkable and even seems to downplay her madness. It’s too sober and even dull. Jinx seems to be the kind of girl that would wear more colourful attire and a t-shirt with something more eye-catching in it; like a zombie face in a prohibition sign with ‘Die Zombie Die’ printed on the back.
The new look for her weapons is appealing but nothing impressive. It adds a bit of an industrial angle to her aspect but doesn’t deviate much from her classic aesthetic. Exactly the same can be said about the particles and sounds. There’s nothing that feels novel and that easily presents the zombie-huntress theme. Surely nothing looks bad but it all seems to play too safe without innovation in any area. The only addition that states the zombie theme is the recall but it’s too little considering that’s the basis of the skin.
All things considered, Slayer Jinx is a fine looking skin but also pedestrian. It’s appealing but mostly because it sticks close to her classic style; which is already attractive. The result isn’t bad but leaves a feeling that much more could’ve been done. It’s like a more casual, relaxed Jinx that doesn’t worry too much about style and goes for rougher weapons. Considering its price, it’s an alright skin but also expensive and a letdown considering the theme’s potential; better to get on sale.

Star Guardian Jinx
Splash Art Star Guardian Jinx Model
Category: Legendary
Price: 1820 RP
Concept: Jinx as a magical girl wielding the magic of the stars.
Model: New model for Jinx, her rocket launcher Kuro (Fishbones), minigun Shiro (Pow-Pow) and shock gun Zapper. New flying familiars: Shiro and Kuro.
Particles: New particles for her familiars, abilities, auto-attack, high-speed run, standing idle, death and recall.
Animations: New animations for her familiars, abilities, auto-attack, standing idle, walk, high-speed run, death, recall, emotes and dancing animations for her weapons while still.
Sounds: New sounds for her abilities, auto-attack, high-speed run and recall plus new voice-over. New quotes when taunting certain champions, when idle, recall, respawn, buying certain items, killing champions, getting a killing spree and pentakill, destroying a tower, using a health potion, placing a ward, attacking Baron Nashor and Dragon.
Splash Art: At a glance, the background is a group of clouds that may cover the circumference of Earth. For a Star Guardian to be soaring the skies shouldn’t be much of a stretch. Sadly, this is all conjecture as there aren’t any elements to confirm or deny such a guess. The only thing of relevance is Jinx and her friends.
On the right we find Shiro, the familiar corresponding to her minigun carrying her rocket launcher; which corresponds to Kuro. They appear subdued and opaque so that their designs aren’t allowed to shine and the rocket launcher isn’t even entirely depicted. On the left we also find her shock gun Zapper floating nearby without much rhyme or reason to do so. Regardless, it allows a clear view of the weapon and suits the fact that she may be in free fall or floating on the air. With bright colours and sharp lines it’s a good depiction.
Moving on to Jinx, her anime-like lines are clear and evident but the soft colours and gradient of shades give depth to the surfaces. This allows her portrayal to avoid looking flat and gives her appearance a more realistic feel. While the pose doesn’t allow a full view of her magical girl look it gives a reasonably good idea. Her ponytails twirl and twist with wild whims which add to the spontaneity so inherent to Jinx; as her face clearly displays. Unfortunately, not everything is perfect. The right arm appears blurred and the burst of light dim and lifeless. There’s absolutely no reason for such a mistake to be present; just as there isn’t for her left ponytail and leg to be blurry, yet they are.
When all is added together, there are some issues with the portrayal but it’s quite good albeit straightforward. Sadly, elements on both left and right show reduced quality and the background is perfectly inconsequential. Therefore, it’s a fine portrayal that works as a good presentation card but lacking as a legendary splash art.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Youthful and passionate, Star Guardian Jinx effectively adapts her natural rebellious personality into that of a magical girl. The clothing follows the expected style but with some veiled punk elements proper of her nonconformism. While the clothes are nothing extraordinary they are appealing and her wild red ponytails add a touch of wild vivacity. Also, she no longer talks alone; so to speak. Her weapons turn into familiars, Shiro represents her minigun and Kuro her rocket launcher. With evident references to shoulder angels and devils, they serve as fantastic companions to Jinx’s volatile personality. The actual weapons are redesigned with coloured, winged barrels lined with gold and ending in star-shaped muzzles. Both familiars only have one wing which corresponds to the wing shown in the respective weapon as well as the main colour; a great way of combining both aspects.
The particles are as playful as the sounds and they even leave a humorous feel that suits the light-hearted mischief embraced by Star Guardian Jinx. For the most part, there’s a vibrant display of bright lights accompanied by stars and backed by soft twinklings and bouncing twangs. The effect could be considered a bit saccharine but it’s certainly attractive and full of delightful charm. The chompers look like a playful twist on the familiars and even if the cat-like appearance is a bit different from the general feel the aesthetic is matched. Their sounds do seem recycled from Classic; explosion aside. Super Mega Death Rocket! deserves special mention for summarising all of Star Guardian Jinx’s power and design in one unique but effective whole. Wings corresponding to each weapon and familiar appear behind Jinx and she shots the combined Shiro and Kuro as one single entity producing an explosion of stars that looks and sounds peculiarly weak and brief; rather anticlimactic truth be told. Nonetheless, it’s a cohesive way of finishing the skin’s identity.
In terms of animations, emotes are charming and so is the recall. They mostly rely on Jinx’s personality and the patience of her familiars. The death animation takes advantage of her familiars to make a distinct end proper of the theme. Her ultimate and high-speed run also look rather different; though the former benefits a lot from the wings. The rest of her actions barely display a difference. Some small touches are noticeable but there’s nothing relevant that adds to the theme.
All things considered, Star Guardian Jinx is a delightful skin that transports the Loose Cannon’s passion for mischief into a magical girl realm. The model is effective, the particles and sounds evocative and there are some animations that are significant. However, the new familiars and her relationship with them, which isn’t restricted merely to emotes, allow the skin to reach farther than an adaptation to a new style. When all is added together, fans of Jinx and magical girls will find that Star Guardian is a skin with an enchanting personality.

Ambitious Elf Jinx
Ambitious Elf Jinx Splash Art Ambitious Elf Jinx Model
Category: Legacy
Price: 1350 RP
Concept: Jinx dressed as a Santa elf wielding toy weapons.
Model: New model for Jinx, her rocket launcher Fishbones, minigun Pow-Pow and shock gun Zapper.
Particles: New particles for her abilities, auto-attack and recall.
Animations: New high speed run and recall animations.
Sounds: New sounds for her abilities, auto-attack and recall.
Splash Art: Toys and Christmas girdles everywhere but some are flying away due to the impactful advance of a poro-filled train. The setup is straightforward and the setting rather simple. The house interior is barebones which added to how diffuse the background is makes for underwhelming, albeit effective, context.
Jinx sits atop the snow-tipped train delightfully and carelessly zapping and kicking teddy bears and other gifts. Fishbones on her back and Pow Pow as her transport is a clever and satisfying way of showing her weaponry. The quality of the depiction also shows a stark contrast to the subdued background. Nice and soft colours with delicate shading and precise lines make for an attractive portrayal. It’s clear that the scene captures Jinx’s personality with all the revelry of the occasion. Her face does look a bit weird but given the elvish nature along her natural mayhem it’s acceptable. The ice shards and snow on the train’s muzzle do look a bit out of place, though. However, that’s as much a fault of the splash art as of the skin itself.
In the end, this splash art offers a captivating portrayal of Jinx supported by an appealing context that is displayed with second class attention. In spite of how straightforward the background is a more detailed depiction would’ve supplemented the portrayal better; the contrast in quality is too notorious. The result is still quite good even if uneven.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Wearing a red dress, stripped stockings and a very pointy hat we find Ambitious Elf Jinx spreading all the fun that toys can; explosive toys majorly. The playful and comical approach of the model suits Jinx very well and the whimsical design of her clothes as well as the evident stylization of the traditional Christmas elf look benefits from the dose of mischief characteristic of Jinx. It’s odd, then, to find that her boots are so simple and unassuming. Perhaps they could’ve been decorated or have pointy toes to add to the style. Her long curly hair with a playful curl on the front is quite classy and gives Jinx a very nice look. Pow-Pow becomes a toy train and Fishbones a long cardboard box with eyes and a big maw. To say that they are suitable and natural choices for Jinx is stating the obvious; still one seems much simpler against the other.
Particles are unexpected. In particular the excess of snowflakes and ice which, while related, isn’t really exposed in either concept or model. Auto-attacks, in both forms, as well as abilities employ splashes of snows instead of explosions and it really doesn’t suit the toy base of the skin. Those abilities that instead employ gifts as projectiles, in addition to the snow, fit better and are, actually, more interesting. For example, Zap!’s sweets, while not toys, are more appealing. Flame Chompers as cymbal-banging monkey toys are the kind of explosive surprise that Jinx would plan. The same applies to Super Mega Death Rocket! which, does use a rocket, but it’s styled like a deer with blinking red nose, antlers and an elegant bowtie; the friendly smile painted on it is all Jinx. If the snow instead were replaced for toy-based effects or Christmas lights there wouldn’t be such a dichotomy as the ultimate shows with its trail of snow. Fishbones’ auto-attacks as well as Super Mega Death Rocket! do show some fireworks for the explosions but combined with the snow it dilutes and lessens their visual impact; it’s a bad compromise of sorts.
Sounds are clear about the direction they chose. Most actions rely on shard-like ice sounds which often clash with the visuals. In cases where explosions are evident they get mixed with the familiar explosive sound. Switcheroo! has fine and appealing sounds for each weapon, Fishbones manages to sound playful and the Flame Chompers banging is nice. However, the distinct sounds tend to be buried under the snowy ones.
Animations are few but interesting. The recall shows Jinx giving a display of her train-riding skill for an audience of penguins. This is relevant because her high speed fun sees her riding a toy train which is a fantastic touch that suits the theme and Jinx’s personality very well.
When all is added together, we find that the idea behind the skin is great: an elf that enjoys toys in several mischievous ways. Unfortunately, Ambitious Elf Jinx does a disservice to its name. The skin has the toy-based angle but, inexplicably, buries it under an unexpected avalanche of snow. The best features of the skin are easily the toy references but they struggle to come atop the snow. Had that toy angle been emphasised the skin would’ve suited and demonstrated its best face. As it is, it’s flawed yet still attractive for the Loose Cannon.

Odyssey Jinx
Odyssey Jinx Splash Art Odyssey Jinx Model
Category: Regular
Price: 1350 RP
Concept: Jinx as a space-faring, cyborg pilot.
Model: New model for Jinx, her rocket launcher Fishbones, minigun Pow-Pow and shock gun Zapper. New glow for Fishbones’ maw and Pow-Pow’s muzzle.
Particles: New particles for her abilities, auto-attack and recall.
Animations: New recall animation.
Sounds: New sounds for her abilities, auto-attack and recall.
Splash Art: In an alien planet one can very well find predators but Jinx is not one to be concerned by them: she just shoots them down with her gun while, apparently, calmly holding onto his friend back’s. Malphite’s back isn’t very clear and the planet seems to be rocks with a rather lively sky which provide a backdrop for Jinx to act. In terms of context, it’s all rather barebones.
Jinx’s casual attitude is characteristic of her. Her lean body with long limbs, playful stance and carefree expression are eloquent enough. Her rocket launcher seems to be missing but her minigun is there. Colours tend to be dim but there’s a shy but appealing use of light and shadow on her. The minigun appears less affected by light and so flat, while the gun shot has a simple style and lighting but rather appealing aspect. As is apparent, the portrayal is somewhat uneven with some areas looking better than others.
The result is a splash art that is quite to the point: it shows Jinx’s personality but doesn’t develop her new identity. There are hints like the new planet and Malphite but, Jinx’s look aside, there’s nothing to capitalise on the Odyssey theme.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Casual, stylish clothes, fancy hairstyle and a cyborg arm: if it weren’t for this last item it’s the Loose Cannon everyone knows and loves. Odyssey Jinx clearly doesn’t deviate much from the classic persona and while her personality is appealing enough to succeed in space the adaptation seems superficial. It doesn’t help the fact that the cyborg arm is there just for looks; for example Zap! could’ve used the arm instead of a gun. So, it’s more Jinx in a change of clothes which is good but complacent.
Particles have some nice instances. Auto-attacks are simple looking but appealing in their stylized way. The minigun’s glowing blasts and fire trail of the rockets look good; especially the different coloured blasts for Pow-Pow’s criticals. The streaks of energy used for impacts of Zap! and Flame Chompers! are quite nice. However, the stylised ray of Zap! and the Flame Chompers themselves look simple. Super Mega Death Rocket! is most interesting in its use of a portal, which appears out of nowhere, because the meteor is actually not very interesting. It is, though, different from the usual rocket, at least. What is quite appealing is the new displaced, glowing image used for Get Excited, which is one of the best particles of the skin.
Sounds are alright. Auto-attacks’ sounds are pleasing with their energy sounds and muted explosions for rockets. Abilities tend to employ energy which is effective but not impressive. The exception is Super Mega Death Rocket! which doesn’t surprise with its explosion but does sound powerful, though. The reverberating energy sound of Get Excited! is a great match for the visuals and quite attractive.
The recall is the only new animation and it’s a good example of her friendship with Malphite and the technology available. It’s simple and cartoony but it works.
All in all, Odyssey Jinx is a good but clearly superficial skin. The whole identity of Jinx is kept intact with only a change in her outward appearance due to the futuristic concept. In terms of looks, it delivers the theme but it also plays it too safe. The skin needs to be more daring to stand out so it stays as a good option.

Conclusion

Spreading chaos wherever she goes Jinx also likes to fit in with the locals, at least before it all explodes. With that in mind, her recommended skin is Mafia Jinx. For a release skin, Mafia Jinx is an interesting deviation that instead of furthering her style moves it to another era. The vintage style is well recreated though there are a few things that don’t convince. In the end, it’s a nice skin that would appeal to fans of the 1920’s.

One alternative is Firecracker Jinx. At a glance it’s a fantastic skin with striking visuals and sounds. However, it’s not as consistently implemented as it could. Besides, the additions, very attractive and all, don’t justify such a high price. Fans of Jinx and fireworks are advised to catch the skin on sale.

Another alternative is Slayer Jinx. The aesthetic is rather uninventive and too safely close to her classic style. The industrial aesthetic of her weapons is nice but there’s nothing that clearly states the zombie theme; recall aside. Unsurprisingly, the skin looks nice but that’s owed to the reliance on the classic aspect. It’s a good skin for Jinx’s fans but also expensive and lacking any impressive features so it’s better to get it on sale.

When we reach the legendary option Star Guardian Jinx stands tall as a worthy alternative worth of its moniker. The model, particles, sounds and some animations are great but the new familiars set the skin apart. They are taken advantage of to instil the skin with a unique personality that is permeated to many of Jinx’s usual actions. This results in a skin with a distinct style that fans will surely appreciate.

The Christmas, legacy offering is Ambitious Elf Jinx. The playful, toy-centric angle of the skin is delightful. It suits Jinx’s personality and shows a playful and appealing display of mischief. Unfortunately, the addition of snow and ice doesn’t help the theme and ends up concealing the appeal of its best features. The result is uneven but still attractive if you can excuse the inconsistency.

Odyssey Jinx is a good skin but also superficial. Jinx’s identity isn’t modified in any way so that she’s merely transported to a space-faring context. The implementation communicates that but without any novel features. The result is appealing and effective but there’s a lot owed to Classic. Still, it’s a good option.

  1. Her electric raygun has a new model as well, it becomes a champagne bottle that launches its cork

  2. She also got 3 new quotes in this skin as well Zero.

  3. Can you do a review on the upcoming limited edition Harrowing skins please? Thank you.

  4. Mafia Jinx is okay but I’m not quite happy with the recall animation. The champagne touch is amazing but the execution is not totally working for me, currently it’s just a splashing sequence. It would have been perfect if they made it like Jinx rides the champagne bottle propelling upwards as the champagne squirts to the ground.

  5. I would very appreciate it if u did a review the classic skin’s splashart I know u have alot of other things to work on so this is just a suggestion thanks πŸ™‚

  6. Yo, what do you think of the new jinx skin?
i think its pretty cool but it could’ve been better.
Also the price of 1350? any first reaction? thanks! πŸ˜€

    • If the particles and sounds are well made then Firecracker Jinx could be a great skin. The question is whether it has any extras that justify the high price because Dragonwing Corki is priced at 975 RP with a similar theme.

      • The particles look great imo, however the recall is nothing special. I think it is not worth 1350 if the recall isn’t spectacular. The particles and sounds carry the skin.

        • While the particles and maybe the sounds might make the skin great Dragonwing does the same at a lower price. So, we agree that unless there are some significant additions, more than a fancy recall, then the higher price isn’t really justified.

  7. After Fire Cracker Jinx gets released and you get around to reviewing it, it should be noted that the auto attack sound on pow-pow is bugged and shouldn’t be fixed until 5.3 I believe. Unless they actually get around to fixing it before release, if so, disregard me.

  8. Firecracker Jinx! Review Firecracker Jinx! Cracker, cracker, cracker pls!

  9. Love the review for Firecracker Jinx! The price all though is not worth it in my opinion, I don’t understand Riot’s way of making a skin more justified at its price range. Dragonwing Corki has the same theme and have very similar changes. I think the effort that was put into a skin is what really puts the price on the skin.

    • Glad that you like it.

We also don’t understand how Firecracker Jinx ended up with such a high price. Even ignoring the relevance of Dragonwing Corki, if we compare Mafia and Firecracker, we end up seeing that the difference isn’t significant between the skins. Firecracker has new auto-attack particles which Mafia lacks but Mafia has a new dance and quotes so there’s a balance. Besides, Switcheroo! is an ability so the new auto-attack particles would be included there.

The thing is that the price doesn’t make sense. Riot increased the price of some 975 RP, to 1350 RP, in the past due to the effort put into them. Some had to go back to the 975 RP price because they simply weren’t good enough for such a high price. In fact, it’s arguable whether those that stayed should be there.

At 975 RP, new particles and sounds for abilities and auto-attacks plus a new model is understandable. Therefore, 975 RP for Firecracker Jinx is a reasonable price. To fit at 1350 RP the skin should have something else, probably new animations, to justify the price. As it is, we are left wondering.

  10. The firecracker’s SP, it bother me that the smoke coming out from the minigun, it’s not move according to the speed of jinx’s movement

    • Such details are often neglected when making skins, especially at 975 RP and less. However, they should be taken into consideration; even more so when the price is rather high.

  11. First off, I would like to thank you for your lengthy and detailed reviews, as I like to use my money as wisely as possible, I often look to your reviews for insight. Lately I’ve been looking into purchasing Mafia Jinx. What do you think of that skin compared to Firecracker? I realize Firecracker’s particles are really well done, but I feel as if the price differential between the two doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, as Mafia also has new particles, more animations, new voiceovers and more. What do you think? Appreciate your effort, and thanks again.

    • We agree, the main feature offered by Firecracker Jinx is her particles and while they are attractive the skin is expensive for doing, essentially, just as much as Mafia. Mafia Jinx, though cheaper, is less eye-catching and also a bit ridiculous but that fits Jinx’s peculiar personality.

Mafia Jinx goes on sale tomorrow so that’s a good opportunity to get the skin. If you are still interested in Firecracker we’d recommend waiting for a sale. The skin has its appeal but it asks too much for what it offers. As far as value is considered, Mafia is a better choice.

In the end, choose based on which theme you like the most. There’s no point is getting a skin because it’s cheap when you actually like another one. However, if you find both interesting we think that Mafia, especially on sale, shouldn’t disappoint. Firecracker is a nice skin but too expensive for basing its appeal on firework particles and sounds.

  12. Mafia Jinx: “New quotes when moving”
    What are thoses??

  13. Me again. Just wanna know your opinion on Slayer Jinx. For me it looks not fun at all, not crazy enough for her. Although Riot try to do something different for harrowing this year, but the zombie theme sounds kinda far-fetched. None of the skins look appealing.

    • We agree that Slayer Jinx seems a bit too safe of a concept. To a point, it’s just casual clothes with more industrial-looking weapons. There isn’t anything that really stands out from what we’ve seen and while it seems like Slayer can be a good skin it’s more fitting at 975 RP than at 1350 RP; as it seems to be priced.

Slayer Pantheon appears to be following a similar mold but it doesn’t play it so safe and also it’s well priced at 975 RP; or so it seems. In this case, while the changes aren’t groundbreaking they are nice touches and add up nicely given the price.

Perhaps Zombie Nunu is the boldest of the trio. It certainly looks more like a reference to Frankestein and his monster than a classic zombie but any reanimated corpse would probably qualify without issues in the zombie category. It doesn’t seem to be strictly speaking and appealing skin, but to each their own, yet it appears to have a well defined identity. If you like all that goo then Zombie Nunu seems to deliver in spades.

  14. Wait… Slayer Jinx is a legacy skin? (Assuming that was a typo) Is it supposed to be legendary?

    • No mistake there; as far as we know. Slayer Jinx is a legacy skin which means that after the 16th, along the other legacy Harrowing skins, it’ll retire to the Legacy Skin Vault and only return in the next Harrowing or Halloween; depends on Riot.

It’s not a legendary skin because of its features and price. Legendary skins carry a price of 1820 RP as oppossed to the 1350 RP of Slayer Jinx.

  15. slayer jinx doesnt change the sound of all her abilities and autoatack.. just for switcheroo! Q Rocket launcher and W … the rest has the same sounds as the classic one. You can give 1 star for it

    • You’re right about Flame Chompers the sound is identical but we do notice different sounds for Zap! and Super Mega Death Rocket; Switecheroo! and auto-attacks aside. We’ll update the review as that’s something relevant; thanks for the notice.

      • haha true AA are a little bit diferent from the classic one, seems like an improvement of the base skin.. the whole Slayer Jinx looks like that… but still the ult sounds like the classic one not even change the tone.. maybe its a confuse because Super Mega Death Rocket! has different variable sounds when impact

        • It’s possible, we did check several times but we’ll check some more. If we find that they sound the same after all we’ll change the review. Thanks for your help.

          • what is the new sound on the passive?

          • We notice a new sound before the classic one for the burst of speed. Perhpas we are wrong and it’s all the same. Slayer isn’t a skin that adds that much in the aural department. You can check the new sound on this video by WretchedOutkasts.

  16. I’m considering buying Firecracker Jinx, because she is 70% off for me thanks to the Lunar Revel. Is it worth the RP?

    • At 70% off, if you like the Firecracker style and play Jinx often then it’s a great opportunity to get the skin at a more reasonable price. It’s a good skin but it doesn’t offer enough for 1350 RP. With a good discount added it becomes a much nicer proposition.

      • I bought the skin, and I love it!

Thank you for your great reviews! They really help me make smarter purchases, and I am more satisfied as a result.

Have a happy lunar new year!

  17. Hi Zero! >w< Have you seen the new Star Guardian skins? What do you think about the Jinx one? πŸ™‚

    • They look rather nice, including Jinx’s. The point is whether the skin offers enough for its legendary label and price. We haven’t seen enough to know yet but we hope that the skin goes an extra step in making the Star Guardian theme shine as bright as it can.

  18. Can you leave a review of the new star guardian jinx? I can’t decide if it is worth the money.

  19. Hi Zero! Why did u rate star guardian 4 stars? I feel like it’s dope, why not 5 stars? Best skin in game. Love your reviews btw.

    • While we find Star Guardian Jinx a cohesive skin that links all of its elements we found that there’s only the familiars and their use in a couple of abilities that are the most significant feature that sets the skin apart. We would’ve preferred a more active relationship with the familiars in the other abilities and aspects of the skin. After all, without them the skin feels very similar to classic with a superficial change of style.

In other words, a deeper development of the relationship between Shiro, Kuro and Jinx would’ve allowed the skin to reach five stars. There is a relationshp established but in many aspects Star Guardian Jinx plays it safe. While the result is attractive its more salient feature have room to be expanded upon. That would’ve allowed the skin to reach five stars. We think that if a skin is to get the hightest rating then it should have little room for improvement; if any at all.

  20. Hi Zero!
I love what you are doing, ever since I discovered this site I’ve been making decisions about my purchases based on your reviews. Anyway, here is the deal. So far I’ve got 3 legendary skins, for Anivia, Thresh and Yi(only one I don’t really like). The thing is, I got them all from boxes, and I have never bought any of them with RP. However, there will be a Star Guardian Jinx in the early sale, and I’m tempted to buy it. Since I might buy it with rp, I’ve got following questions: Would lower price(1350rp) raise overall rating to 5 stars? Is this skin really top tier legendary? And the last one, I;ve already got Mafia Jinx, and since it’s a good and recommended skin is it worth getting Star Guardian in it’s place? I’m not a big Jinx fan, however I play her from time to time and the lower price is definitely tempting.
Again, your site and reviews are amazing, keep up the good work!

    • Thanks for the kind words.

From what you tell we see two elements on the scales that decide whether Star Guardian Jinx is worthwhile or not. On the one hand, there’s the fact that you don’t play Jinx often. A legendary skin is a large investment and certainly not a skin to get if you don’t plan to play it. On the other hand, there’s Star Guardian Jinx by herself. It’s a good skin and the early sale is the one chance to get it at a discount; at least, until Riot does something else that they said they wouldn’t.

Mafia Jinx is a good skin but if you don’t play the Loose Cannon often it may be enough. We do think that Star Guardian Jinx is currently one of the best legendary skins. It effortlessly stands apart from other skins for Jinx and justifies well enough its legendary label and price. However, regardless of how good the skin is, there’s little point in spending money if you won’t play it. If you are going to play Jinx enough to justify the high price of the skin then Star Guardian won’t disappoint.

  21. Hello, Zero, thank you for your reviews. Jinx is getting a new skin and oh boy am I sad I can’t afford wasting money on games anymore, especially not in League. While this skin could be improved a lot I still really like the model and the guns, except for the texture and color of the rocket launcher which seem really bland. On to the main point: Jinx mostly has great splash arts but this one is my favorite(sometimes I bought skins only for the splash art; example: Captain Miss Fortune). What’s your opinion on this art compared to her the ones? Do you think the psychotic but ugly face(which I am not a fan of) suits her better or this type of ‘lighthearted’ mayhem pose/face? Thanks again

    • Hi, not at all.

With regards to splash art we think that they only serve as presentation cards for the skins. Regardless, there are some pretty nice ones. With regards to Ambitious Elf Jinx we like the splash art but it needs a bit of extra work in the background. It offers a context but it seems second class to the great portrayal of Jinx. The portrayal is captivating and we agree that it captures the feel of Jinx. Even if her face is a bit weird it works with the elvish angle used.

We do think that Jinx has better skins available, though. Ambitious Elf Jinx is a good skin but not something that just can’t be missed. It has potential in the concept but we would’ve liked more consistency with regards to the execution.

  22. Hi Zero, it’s been a while since I left a message around someone’s skins’ review page.

Anyways, even though it is still early, but happy holidays to you πŸ™‚

As you know, Snowdown is almost near, so I would like to have some insight of yours about this year’s Christmas skins.

I’m kinda torn between Santa Draven and Ambitious Elf Jinx, cuz both of them are in my wishlist. Well, I did make some +1 lists for both of them. So below is my tl;dr conclusion of the skins (I didn’t judge them for the splash arts, but merely on the in-game model, VFX, and SFX)

Draven: sexy-but-not-really-a-Santa Santa donned in lumberjack fashion, with sparkly gold and blue particles and snowflakes.

Jinx: mischievous elf using all sorts of toys and gift boxes as weapons. Can’t say no to a toy train Pow-Pow that gives out the sound “choo choo” every time using Switcheroo!

I have way too much Jinx’s skins and none for Draven. The reason is when it comes to Draven, I hardly like anyone one of them. Just to be clear, THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION, Draven looks awful like a perverted psychopath in every skin, with the exception of Soul Reaver. So Santa Draven was the 2nd skin that moved me, making me wanted to buy one Draven skin. He looks more jolly and kind(?) in this skin, and also Santa Draven’s mustache got game

    • Happy holidays to you too.

We found Santa Draven disappointing. Fine, it’s Draven suited up as Santa in his peculiar style. However, there’s not enough of either and the skin, for some reason, goes into snow when it hasn’t even established a good foundation for either Draven or Santa. In our opinion, the skin lacks focus.

Ambitious Elf Jinx we find a good skin though it has some issues. Mainly, it dilutes the lethal toys angle for snow. The skin would’ve been much more effective if Jinx simply used toys as weapons. Not only is that something that suits Jinx but it also would’ve allowed a more focused implementation.

We agree that Draven doesn’t have many good skins. We think that Gladiator is the best of his: flashy arena fighter; after all he’s supposed to be the best of them. Soul Reaver needs to go deeper in the transformation because it seems superficial. We don’t really see Santa Draven as a kinder version of him but that’s quite subjective. We prefer a skin that takes a unique quality of a champion and makes it different or emphasises it. Gladiator does that but Santa doesn’t seem to be sure what it’s trying to do.

      • I guess you are right about the Draven part. To be honest when it comes to Draven, I have a personal bias towards his skins. Ok, I have to admit Gladiator is the best if I were to judge based on not just the theme but also on his character background as well. But the thing is that in SG/MY server, Gladiator is a real life event exclusive skin, so it is rare. Primetime, Pool Party and Draven Draven are kinda overrated over here so I’m not considering them, so all I can choose is either Soul Reaver and Beast Hunter. But since there’s a Santa Draven coming, I might get it considered I myself somehow is a legacy skins collector. Funny that I asked for opinion and in the end sounds like I already solved my problem.

Still if you were in my situation, which will you pick? Santa Draven or Ambitious Elf Jinx?
(I currently own all Jinx’s skins except Slayer, and Draven’s zero)

I mean, in my eyes they both have flaws, Santa Draven really lacks the “Santa feel” compared to Santa Braum, I might even call it Snowstorm Draven just like Snowstorm Sivir. Ambitious Elf Jinx? I do feel that it lacks the “Santa’s workshop vibe” I’m looking for, too little execution on the toys and too much snows and lights.

        • We didn’t now that Gladiator Draven was a restricted skin. That surely doesn’t do the skins any favours. Sure, it’s quite nice but considering that it’s available all the time in other servers, it’s a bit werid. From what we’ve read, it’s an odd choice considering that other restricted skins are legacy yet not Gladiator.

We’ve heard that people ask for advice when they know what to do but haven’t yet come to terms with it. If we can just help clear your doubts we are glad to do so.

The truth of the matter is that Draven doesn’t have very good skins and Santa doesn’t change that. We think that Ambitious Elf Jinx is a better skin yet also with issues. From the amount of skins you have for each champion it also seems like you like Jinx quite a bit.

We understand, though, that you may also like Draven and are having a difficult time getting a nice skin for him. With some champions, that’s the way it is. If we discount Gladiator, then Soul Reaver is more elaborate yet shallow and Beast Hunter is more modest yet superficial. Perhaps a sale is the best option to get one of these skins.

Collecting legacy skins might help Santa Draven a bit but only theoretically. In practice, it’s still the same. The main problem is that it’s a problem without a clear solution. Every option implies giving up on something. In the end, you’ll have to check what’s more and less valuable for you so as to know what’s more important.

          • Well that’s because in Southeast Asia, League is distributed by Garena, so sometimes with have our own ways of marketing and management.

Anyways, I somehow managed to solve the problem. I will definitely get Santa Draven, obviously he needs some love. As for Ambitious Elf Jinx, I will wait till next year or maybe if I’m lucky enough I might get her from the hextech chest.

I have a tendency towards legacy skins, sometimes a legacy skins is just average or below I still think it’s worth to purchase. It’s like when I saw a skin labeled with “legacy” or “limited”, I will definitely become a blind buyer. But still I somehow impressed of myself, because I spent nothing on this year’s Death Sworn series. The moment I saw people playing with them, I don’t like them at all…

          • It’s true that many recent skins, Death Sworn among them, haven’t been as impressive as they could’ve. They aren’t bad and perhaps that’s enough. Unfortunately, that also seems to apply to the Snowdown skins. As a collector, legacy skins have a little extra though we still prefer skins that are well rounded regardless of categories and labels.

We hope you enjoy the skin and, with luck, the skins.

  23. Help me decide =( Battlecast Kog’maw OR Firecracker jinx ?

    • Firecracker Jinx is a skin that ends up being more superficial than Battlecast Kog’Maw. While neither is a bad skin Battlecast is a skin with more depth. Which one is better suited for you largely depends on which concept you like the most. There’s a difference in the implementation but it’s not something game breaking. However, if you want the best execution then Battlecast Kog’Maw it is. Try to get either skin on sale as they are expensive.

  24. Hi zero, I was wondering if you can help me decide which skin should I get for Jinx. Ive been playing her for awhile and Ive decided to get a skin for her.

These are my opinions on her Skins

    – (Mafia): Its the cheapest one, I liked that it has a unique dance (perfect for BM’ing enenemies). But its too similar to the Classic one even the sounds are the same.

    – (Firecracker): I liked the particles & sounds on this one especially the firecracker sounds on her Autos and Abilities but I really dont dig her looks, Chongsam (chinese clothing) on Jinx doesnt really fit nor does it compliment her looks. The chromas dont help either ?

    – (Slayer): Im not a fan of this one, it looks too generic, dull and too similar to classic one. The only good thing I guess is the Autos sounds on Rocket Launcher.

    – (Ambitious Elf): I like the overall look on this one, the high speed run animation is a plus too, However, is it just me or does most of the sounds are too similar to Classic especially in Mini Gun form I cant distinguish between the Classic and this one.

I didnt put SG Jinx here, cause it will overshadow the other skins and is pricing is the only drawback for me . But if none of her other Skins is appealing enough I guess SG Jinx is my only option.

Can you help me decide which is the best skin for me? Many Thanks, and I hope u can help me decide before January 1st

    • We agree that Star Guardian Jinx overshadows the others. In fact, the basic question is whether you like Jinx and play her enough to justify a legendary skin. If the answer is affirmative then there’s no better option than Star Guardian. It’s a great skin for Jinx and among legendaries.

That said, from what you mention there are things you like and dislike from each skin. The one you seem to like the most is Ambitious Elf Jinx. It’s a nice skin though not particularly deep. However, if you are willing to pay 1350 RP for it, given that a legacy skin won’t see a discount unless you get lucky in Your Shop, then you might as well spend a bit more and get Star Guardian for 1820. There’s a difference in price but it pales in comparison with how much better the legendary skin is.

The same applies to Slayer Jinx, also legacy, but you sound like it’s even less convincing than Ambitious Elf. We agree, it’s a shallow skin so if you don’t like it as a similar alternative to Classic then there isn’t much to like in Slayer.

This leaves us with two options. Firecracker Jinx’s objection is the clothing which only you can say how big of a deal it is. The rest is quite good: the fireworks is what sets the skin apart. Mafia is a more modest skin but it’s not bad at all. We agree that it has points in common with Classic as could only be expected from its price. It’s not a bad skin by any means but not as elaborate as the others.

In the end, we see two options. You either pay a lot and go legendary or try to save money and see if you like Firecracker or Mafia enough. This depends a lot on how much you play and like Jinx. Then it’s a matter of what compromises you are willing to make. Fortunately, there’s no skin that would be a bad choice; strictly. Which one is the best for you ends up being a matter of personal preference.

      • It’s decided then, SG Jinx is the way to go. Yeah I agree, most of her skins are quite pricey (1350) so why not just add a bit more and get the best skin instead.

Honestly, before this I thought getting her a Legendary tier for her first skin is an overkill. But u helped made me realise that the price isnt that much different from most of her skins but the Legendary one brings so much to the table. Thus I can now fully justify the reason to get her the Legendary skin.

Thanks again Zero, I was actually surprised that you have the time to reply to comments despite its being Christmas/holiday. I mean even Riots took a long break this Christmas until January lol.

Btw I dont knw if its just me, but I actually commented way earlier like 2 days before, using my Opera Mini browser but the comment doesnt seem to passed through submittion (it used to be working before) so I had to use a proper browser to get this comment posted and bother u during this Christmas time im sorry ?.

        • Not at all, glad to be of help.

Indeed, the problem with the 1350 RP skin tier is that it’s rather close to the legendary price of 1820 RP; only 470 RP. Considering the vast difference in features there can be between the tiers it means that if you are going full price then a legendary isn’t much of a stretch. Different would be if you are considering a sale as 675 RP is much more affordable. However, if a skin is legacy that’s out of the question. On top of that, not every 1350 RP skin feels like it does justice to the tier.

A lost comment, that’s odd. We have used Opera with the site and never had a problem but not Mini just the regular browser. For the time being we can’t expand on this as we can’t test it. If it becomes an issue please give us all information you can to troubleshoot the problem; or do as much as we can.

Well, technically we should take some time off and we do sometimes. Still, we think that if you devote your time to contact us the least we could do is answer. After all, the site would be nothing without our readers. We may not be as good as we should be but we do make an effort.

Besides, we don’t really mind if we can be of help. Problems with the site, those do annoy. When will things just work without issues? Wishful thinking probably. At any rate, we can try to help people make better purchases and that’s rather good in our view.

          • Hi zero can u help me out? while purchasing one of jinx’s skin i accidentally purchased another one (I swore the store lag by itself and when I try to refresh it says that I bought 2 jinx skins, Ambitious elf and firecracker (the former being my own choice). How do I refund the firecracker one? Ive used up my 3 refund tokens ages ago and I read that they dont offer refund for accidental purchase.

Help, what do I do?? I was saving up for a skin… I cant believe this happening to me oh my god this is so stressing…

          • Sorry we are answering a bit late.

If you are out of refund tokens your only option is to contact Riot support. Explain the situation and your circumstances to them. There’s no guarantee that they’ll give you a refund but it’s a chance, at least.

Unfortunately, it’s the only option that’s left. Don’t forget to mention that there was an issue with store lag. If the problem actually lies in a technical mishap instead of simply buying by mistake then the situation can’t be said to be entirely your fault.

Try to explain the technical details to the best of your knowledge. If the store was acting funny then a refund could be justified. We are sorry we can’t be of more help.

          • I honestly thought my comment didnt went through as I keep checking from time to time whether it was posted or not.

Umm, can u provide the link on contacting Riot support? I cant seem to find it at their website. It only shows faqs and their replies no info on how to contact them directly.

I do hope they can refund the skin. I havent even used the skin yet hopefuly it will help to justify the accidental purchase.

            Thanks again Zero ?

          • We apologise we had a bunch of stuff to attend to. As always there’s more to do than there’s time for. Anyway, no use crying over spilled milk. We’ll help you now as much as we can.

You can contact Riot support here: Riot Games Support page. Check that you are doing so in your region.

The link is for Riot Games’ page and not League of Legends’ which can explain why you didn’t find it. You can also try to contact them via Riot Games Support Twitter account in case you don’t receive an answer; we don’t know how much they usually take to do so.

In the Content Refund FAQ Riot explains that you can’t have a refund for an accidental purchase if you run out of tokens. However, if the store lagged and you ended with two skins when you intended to buy only one then that consitutes an error in the working of the store and not a fault of your own.

Be specific about the event and explain the technical matters and the issue with lag that you mention in the support ticket. If it’s not your fault then you shouldn’t be made to keep a skin you didn’t want to purchase. Regardless, the warning is in written form. So consider that you may not be able to get a refund nonetheless. After all, it’s at Riot’s discretion.

It may be worth mentioning that you haven’t even played with the skin. They have a match history they can easily check and it could help your case that the skin was never intended to be purchased. We don’t know if it’ll help but it shows you aren’t trying to take advantage of the situation in any way.

Not at all, we hope this mishap can be solved without issues.

          • Thanks zero, you are very helpful! I’ve already sent my Support ticket and tried to be as specific as possible. Now I just have to wait for their replies (if any) and hope for the best.

I will inform you if they do replies ? thanks again Zero.

          • Not at all. We wish you the best of luck and hope that the issue can be easily solved. Let’s wait and hope for the best, then.

          • Hi Zero, just to inform you everything is settled now.

Thank you Zero for helping me out. Cheers

          • That’s good to know and not at all; we are glad to be of help.

  25. I like Slayer for it being another crazy version of Jinxβ€” just killing zombies instead.
I have both Star Guardian and Slayer, but as time passes, I see more of Mafia Jinx’s unique charm. Not a completionist, but would it be worth? I mean, it is 975 RP…or should I just wait for a sale? And yes, one of my first ever AD carries is Jinx (the other one being Tristana)

    • We also like the idea of Slayer Jinx and it’s not bad that it’s an alternative to Classic. We just would’ve liked for the skin to have a more distinct personality. Star Guardian is definitely a great skin.

We’d recommend to wait for a sale on Mafia Jinx. Depends on how much you play Jinx and how bored you may be of the skins you own; perhaps you just need variety right now. If you play Jinx a lot then a third skin makes sense, especially if Star Guardian and Slayer are starting to become overly familiar; still great but you already know what they have to offer well.

Mafia Jinx is a good skin and realises a distinct and appealing identity for her. It won’t disappoint as it’s Mafia but Jinx style: so its classy but with all the mayhem of bullets and explosives. The price isn’t high and the execution is very good. Given that you already own other skins for Jinx a sale soudns like a good middle ground.

  26. Hey Zero, just a question on your review for Star Guardian Jinx;
in the review of the splash art, you mention that her shock gun is floating in the air. However in this skin she doesn’t really have a Zapper anymore and shoots magic from her finger (what the splash art is depicting kind of with the hand that is not holding the rocket launcher).
Other than that, I enjoy reading your reviews! Hopefully this skin will drop from a chest for me, as I’m not a fan of the high price, nor do I want to wait for a sale that will drop it down to 1350. Do you know if this skin will be available in My Shops at all?

    • You’re right about Zapper. It seems we saw something in the splash art because in-game she shoots with her index finger. We don’t really know right now what we saw. We’ll think about it and if we don’t remember we’ll fix the review. Thanks for the headsup and glad that you enjoy the reviews.

Star Guardian Jinx already received its early sale so, unless Riot has new plans for sales, it won’t see another discount to 1350 RP. According to the Your Shop FAQ legendary skins aren’t included. The options left then are simply buying from the store or depending on the luck of the draw of hextech crafting. We aren’t fans of the gambling aspect of crafting but Jinx has many other nice skins which cost less and can be discounted. It’s not the same but it’s an alternative.

      • You’re welcome, I’m glad it helped!
Although I am shocked that I missed the sale for her, is there any chance she will have another early sale, or was it a one time thing? Otherwise, hopefully I will be lucky enough to get her to drop in chest!

        • Legendary skins, as of now, only get one early sale roughly six months after release. All skins get the same early sale but legendaries only get that sale. Riot could shake things up in the future, they have in the past but for now that’s it. Of course, you could get it as a drop or, if not, the skin will retain the same price on the store so you can save for it if you want without any rush. We’d recommend saving instead of purchasing crafting materials, if you buy them, but we don’t like the gambling aspect of it all; just our opinion.
