League of Legends: Kha’Zix Skins’ Review – StrategyZero
Sep 282012

Kha'Zix, the Voidreaver
Kha’Zix, the Voidreaver

Kha’Zix, the Voidreaver brings change to the battlefield. Every victim is only a chance to evolve and gain power. Every hiding place reserves the potential of assailing a new victim. Every battle is only an opportunity to optimise evolution and end up as the ultimate predator. There is competition, of course, but that’s only good news. The more powerful they are the more there is to gain when they are consumed. Perhaps you would like to know more about the various forms of camouflage used by the Voidreaver. It would be wise to be guarded with knowledge. What should you look out for? Read on and leap on the answer.

Mecha Kha’Zix
Mecha Kha'Zix Splash Art Mecha Kha'Zix Model
Category: Regular
Price: 1350 RP
Concept: Kha’Zix stylized as an advanced war robot.
Model: New model for Kha’Zix and his evolutions. New textures for Evolved Adaptive Cloaking.
Particles: New particles for his abilities and Evolved Adaptive Cloaking.
Animations: New animation for his dance.
Sounds: New sounds for his abilities, evolutions, new beep for Taste Their Fear’s passive, new joke and processed voice-over.
Splash Art: Mecha Kha’Zix’s splash art isn’t very clear about what it wants to depict, even though the depiction is adequate. The background shows some sort of facility where beings are incubating but nothing else helps frame the action. Therefore, too much is left undefined such as what are those beings or why does Kha’Zix advance in a rampage? Nonetheless, rampage he does and what he does destroy seems to be hit at random more than being an intended action. While the action isn’t well defined, Kha’Zix’s look is: the robotic aesthetic is well portrayed; albeit without much fanfare: the colours are plain and the design comes as unimpressive. In conclusion, as a simple depiction of Mecha Kha’Zix the piece works but it doesn’t function as a glimpse into a story, despite having elements to do so.

Conclusion: Mecha Kha’Zix is an extraordinary skin but that is because of the good base that Classic Kha’Zix provides. Every single aspect of the Mecha form that stands out is simply another version of the classic one. Nevertheless, the concept is cleverly chosen and adapted. The model doesn’t seem very elaborate but that allows a lean and practical design that suits Kha’Zix’s innate agility. The particles and sounds are particularly effective at displaying the expected mecha armament in action while the processed voice-over reinforces the concept. Furthermore, Taste Their Fear’s isolation mark is quite attractive, and its new sound quite useful, while the impressive Void Assault stealth effect makes the ability very satisfying to use. On the whole, Mecha Kha’Zix is more interesting due to the amount of changes, given the complexity of the classic incarnation, than the extent of the modifications: Mecha Kha’Zix doesn’t give a new feel to the champion, only a new flavour. It’s a complex skin but it’s also a complex champion, so while this makes the higher than usual price understandable it isn’t completely justified.

Guardian of the Sands Kha’Zix
Guardian of the Sands Kha'Zix Splash Art Guardian of the Sands Kha'Zix Model
Category: Regular
Price: 975 RP
Concept: Kha’Zix as an animated Egyptian statue.
Model: New model for Kha’Zix and his evolutions. New textures for Evolved Adaptive Cloaking.
Particles: New sand-coloured particles for his abilities, auto-attack, Evolved Adaptive Cloaking and recall.
Animations: New recall animation.
Sounds: New sounds for his abilities, auto-attack and evolutions. New clanking sounds for his blades when standing idle and recall.
Splash Art: Abandoned ruins are a classic setting to place an exotic creature. While they seem to be in a rather good state they are also very diffuse and details are practically imperceptible. The heavy sky fills space and even the pedestal Kha’Zix stands on doesn’t say much. When we move to the creature in question we find that things don’t convince. On the one hand, the metal is bright and the lines sharp. However, what isn’t around the centre, determined by his head, gets blurry. Sadly that’s not the worst part as the proportions seem wrong: his body is too broad, arms too long, legs too short and thin; he simply doesn’t look right. The result is a piece that feels quiet and doesn’t make a very exciting impression of Kha’Zix.

Conclusion: A clear and appealing Egyptian aesthetic makes Guardian of the Sands Kha’Zix familiar and recognizable. The aspect evokes the scarab with a touch of mummy underneath. The scarab symbolized rebirth which isn’t actually implied; though change and evolution can be considered consequences. The decorated armour gives a fitting air of pharaonic warrior while the darker aspect of Evolved Adaptive Cloaking seems appropriately more lethal. Even though many of the sand particles are re-colours they still are a very nice addition to further the theme. The sounds aren’t remarkable but maintain the cohesion of the adaptation. All added together result in a skin with an attractive concept and a well developed implementation. In conclusion, Guardian of the Sands Kha’Zix is a great skin for fans of Egyptian culture or Voidreavers.

Death Blossom Kha’Zix
Death Blossom Kha'Zix Splash Art Death Blossom Kha'Zix Model
Category: Regular
Price: 975 RP
Concept: Kha’Zix as a flower-camouflaged insect.
Model: New model for Kha’Zix and his evolutions. New textures for Evolved Adaptive Cloaking.
Particles: New particles for his abilities and auto-attack.
Animations: New recall animation.
Sounds: New recall sounds.
Splash Art: For a background there’s a dense mist that occludes all details of what would be guessed to be a forest. Far from making the setting mystic and magical it strikes as a drab sketch. The only things that can be noticed are the tendrils covered in thorns in the foreground which don’t discriminate between batrachian and human. While that does reference Kha’Zix’s florally tinted abilities it’s not done in a particularly exciting way.
Kha’Zix struggles to become visible from the fog behind him with his right leg and left arm lost to the thick atmosphere. The rest of his body has clear colours but the perspective and confusing lines prevent a clear look at what is already alien with an added layer of floral camouflage. Some aspects are visible and a general idea can be got from it all. However, highlights like the blades, spikes and wings don’t shine as the significant elements they are. The result is a presentation of the Voidreaver that wastes much of its potential by making the display more complex and forced than it needs to.
Therefore, we find a rather uneven piece that not only seems unfinished but also ill-conceived. The setup is pedestrian and the composition seems to choose the most awkward and convoluted way of displaying Kha’Zix while showing the most interesting aspects as in a draft. For what it manages to do, it’s a piece that gives some idea of what the Voidreaver looks like. However, the flaws are evident enough that a return to the drawing table isn’t actually an exaggeration.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Thanks to a florid design that appears both delicate and deadly Death Blossom Kha’Zix tackles mimicry with a floral theme. The result is quite eye-catching with multiple layers of petals making up the exoskeleton. However, at a distance the restricted colouring reduces the impact of the design and it can look simple, with only a few extra curves added to the recognizable outline. When the Evolved Wings sprout out the skin becomes much more interesting. They may well be the most relevant addition with their translucence that effectively captures both the insect and flower aspects. The new Evolved Adaptive Cloaking makes for a change that ends up more colourful than the normal scheme and so it stands on its own quite well. Unfortunately, both Evolved Reaper Claws and Spike Racks are barely noticeable.
In terms of particles the floral theme is clear but only in certain changes. Unseen Threat’s indicator has a fantastic animated design but the actual attack only has some fine petals essentially added on top of the classic particles. Void Spike has an elaborate thorn design and trail that captures the eye with ease. Besides, Void Assault has a distinct appearance, shared with Elderwood LeBlanc, that fits and enhances the aesthetic; as long as Evolved Active Camouflage isn’t around, in which case it’s a clear visual distortion. Taste their Fear and Leap are notable for adding very little with the new particles but they keep things consistent in their own timid way.
The absence of any new sounds doesn’t come as much of a surprise as the classic ones fare rather well with the new style. Regardless, there could’ve been some additions here and there that better reflected the explosions of petals so used everywhere. The new recall is so unimaginative that it’s staggering. It simply uses a flower as magical transport for Kha’Zix. Sure, the petals’ animations are nice but if we change the vessel we find that it could’ve fit anywhere; it demonstrates a surprising lack of inspiration.
All in all, Death Blossom Kha’Zix is evidently a flawed skin. If you like the floral theme it is well represented in many additions but also wasted in others. The result is actually rather attractive in both concept and visuals but the uneven nature of the skin is perceivable. It’s still a skin worth considering if you want an eye-catching change of look that bears some resemblance to nature. Regardless, a sale may be the best time to catch this flower bug.

Dark Star Kha’Zix
Dark Star Kha'Zix Splash Art Dark Star Kha'Zix Model
Category: Regular
Price: 1350 RP
Concept: Kha’Zix as creature made from a black hole.
Model: New model for Kha’Zix. New glows for his head and body with and without Evolved Adaptive Cloaking.
Particles: New particles for his abilities, auto-attack and recall.
Animations: New recall animation.
Sounds: New sounds for his abilities, auto-attack and recall.
Splash Art: A world sees its surface ravaged as a sinister visage looks down on its surface. Out of a black hole the end has come. The setup for this piece is rather good. The background only has a portion of a world to show but it’s a significant element; even more so because the atmosphere is also affected by the terrifying apparition.
Kha’Zix works quite well as a galactic monster. Only his upper body is visible and from that only the front. Still, the evocative Dark Star face with star shining in the middle is eloquent enough. The body tries to follow the Giger-esque tendencies of the face but it isn’t as effective. The torso seems empty of solid matter but full of a gaseous storm, which is fittingly appealing, but the arms look like bark and the blades like an extended soap bubble; much like the potential wings behind. The golden blades on claws, shoulders and head are also subdued to bluish tones which reduce their relevance.
In spite of much inconsistency in the depiction the terrible fate of the world and the horrible and unstoppable source of such destiny are quite evocative. Even if there’re things that don’t work well this splash art has something interesting, even if unoriginal, to say and so the piece becomes meaningful and significant. It demonstrates well enough, scale apart, what threat Kha’Zix is as a Dark Star.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: For all the charm that the splash art displays, Dark Star Kha’Zix ends up being a rather uneven skin. The model hardly captures the potential displayed in two dimensions. Part Xenomorph caricature and part arbitrary ornamentation, Kha’Zix can look like a Guardian of the Sands statue but with an ineffective space theme. The face is the only area where the skin unequivocally communicates its theme; though only by repeating a known face. The body shows some indications along the glow added to head and torso but there’s nothing clearly cosmic about the model.
The skin only starts to get interesting once some abilities are evolved. The design of the Claws gets clearly more astral, the spike racks glow with subtle intent, the wings echo the claws but with a more crystalline feel and also a black hole added to Kha’Zix’s back. Unexpectedly, Evolved Adaptive Cloaking only changes the glows’ colours to more bluish tones. Therefore, head, torso, claws and wings become more monotonous and it’s difficult to notice when that evolution is chosen. The rest of the skin receives absolutely no changes which, considering the brimming potential of the concept, is a thorough disappointment.
Particles are somewhat repetitive in that they reuse the same blue trails with yellow stars sprinkled on them. Fortunately, such strict design is effectively concealed by the balance of trails and stars as well as the shapes used. This brings the abilities and auto-attacks great consistency without feeling monotonous; they still feel homogeneous though. Void Spike deserves special mention for its attractive use of dual stars that coalesce into a four star system. Auto-attacks leave behind large and appealing cosmic trails while Taste Their Fear looks like a harder auto-attack and Leap imitates Void Spike’s trail and system with less appeal. Unseen Threat, the passive, is mostly serviceable except for the attractive glow given to Kha’Zix’s claws. Conversely, Void Assault makes a great first impression with its initial but extremely brief cosmic eye which turns into the usual semi-transparent silhouette with a few added sparks.
Sounds mesh with each other too much. Auto-attacks sound not too different, not to say very similar to the classic ones. Abilities, for the most part, employ muffled howls that are sometimes, especially when evolving, supported by low-pitched humming. In practice, the sounds are distinct and even charming but each ability ends up feeling the same to others. The recall makes some sense as Kha’Zix becomes the origin of a black hole that is then divided in two but the subsequent posing for glory should’ve been reserved for Draven.
All in all, Dark Star Kha’Zix is a skin with a boring model that doesn’t really represent its theme well. It’s only when particles are added and the evolution process starts that the Voidreaver reveals his appeal. This can make the skin too polar as its starts quite subdued and then only certain areas get interesting. The aural side complements well the visuals despite a lack of variety. Thus, Dark Star Kha’Zix is a skin with lots of potential only fulfilled in specific doses.

Championship Kha’Zix
Championship Kha'Zix Splash Art Championship Kha'Zix Model
Category: Legacy
Price: 1350 RP
Concept: Kha’Zix armoured in blue and silver.
Model: New model for Kha’Zix. New textures for Evolved Adaptive Cloaking.
Particles: New particles for his abilities, auto-attack and recall.
Animations: New recall animation.
Sounds: New sounds for his abilities, auto-attack and recall.
Splash Art: Thre isn’t much context to Kha’Zix’s portrayal. He’s somewhere and it’s probably indoors but everything is muddy darkness. Four figures flank him and their depiction is so dim that they could equally be soldiers or statues. They add some gravitas but it’s a small contribution.
Kha’Zix’s colours are much brighter, for the most part. His wings appear blurred and shading can get sketchy as easily as it appears bright; compare his arms against his claws. Where colours are bright they offer many refractions but the metal can feel sketchy at a close look. Where colours are dim, like his legs, they appear to be part of the background. Considering that the claws already conceal a good portion of Kha’Zix and that another good portion is dimly depicted not much of Kha’Zix is clearly exposed. The golden and blue sparks are little additions to make the portrayal more eye-catching.
Overall, this is a splash that tries to grab one’s attention but lets go too easily due to the uneven portrayal and lacklustre background. Even at basics, it’s difficult to get a good idea of how Kha’Zix looks much less see any context to his appearance. This is a splash art that leaves much to be desired as it doesn’t even cover the basics well.
Rating: Star clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZeroStar clip art used in skin reviews at StrategyZero
Conclusion: Championship Kha’Zix could very well be considered an armoured version of the Voidreaver. His exoskeleton is simply made out of metal plates but with a rather ornamented design which does bring to mind the floral design of Death Blossom; even the wings look metallic. Only the upper body is nicely designed, though, as the lower body is simple and without decoration. There’s also a bit of gold but mostly blue yet the gold helps the blue tones and prevents monotony in the colour palette. The red of Evolved Adaptive Cloaking feels out of place and doesn’t work with the stated blue-gold palette.
Particles’ highlights are the sparks and, less so, the streaks of electricity. The most prominent feature is the gold-blue design. The pattern left on the floor by Leap seems whimsical despite the theme. That is the sole exception to the rather homogeneous style of the abilities. For the most part, the same elements are used with different emphasis or only some of them; like Leap’s simple effect. Conversely, Unseen Threat’s golden glow on Kha’Zix’s claws is quite appealing.
Sounds are notoriously similar to classic but with a different angle. Echoes and crunching are intensified so that abilities and auto-attacks feel different yet remain familiar. The catch is the different emphasis on the sounds more than the use of actual new sounds.
The new recall animation is a reference to the championship and nothing else. It does make use of his spike racks to shoot fireworks, which is nice but the rest doesn’t capitalise on his unique nature.
Overall, there are some things to like about Championship Kha’Zix. However, the skin does feel superficial as the changes don’t even attempt to give him a different feel. Thus, the classic design remains intact and the skin ends up clawing its way to try to be good.

Conclusion

While options are few, Guardian of the Sands Kha’Zix raises as the best option. Thanks to the interesting concept and dedication of the implementation the Voidreaver becomes a lethal and appealing scarab warrior. The theme is consistently executed and the price is quite reasonable so Guardian of the Sands is the recommended skin.

Mecha Kha’Zix is a nice but also expensive skin; even though it isn’t legendary. The changes are many and well done but they aren’t stunning, except for Taste Their Fear’s mark and Void Assault’s effect. For all intents and purposes, the price effectively turns the skin into a mini-legendary and so it’s a product better recommended to dedicated Kha’Zix fans or sci-fi enthusiasts.

Death Blossom Kha’Zix is an uneven skin with a distinct appearance that has some really attractive additions to offer. The changes don’t always shine as they should and the rough edges are noticeable. Nevertheless, there’s an attractive concept brought to life by an implementation that gets many things right. If nothing else, fans of the Void Reaves shouldn’t ignore this skin when on sale.

Dark Star Kha’Zix is a skin with an interesting, albeit unoriginal, concept that is only partially exploited. At large, the model is a letdown. Only the particles start to make it interesting, especially as the Voidreaver evolves. Sounds offer a good support despite their rigidity. The result is a skin that only shines in certain areas while it keeps a dull base under some attractive elements.

Championship Kha’Zix is a skin with some nice features. Unfortunately, it’s superficial and it shows, given that the classic design is kept untouched. The result is a skin that has things to offer but not enough given how special it ought to be. Kha’Zix doesn’t feel different and so fans of the Voidreaver should consider this skin as an option with several caveats.

  1. hey zero can you review gangplank skin please

    • Sure, added to the list; we’ll review him as soon as possible.

      • oh another thing mecha kha’zix is 1350 rp as same as legendary price but it wasn’t legendary ?

        • Not exactly, legendary skins are priced at 1820 RP while regular skins at 975 or 520 RP. Therefore, Mecha Kha’Zix is somewhere between legendary and regular; in terms of quality. Technically, it’s considered a regular skin with a higher than usual price, so apparently it’ll eventually be on sale; legendary skins never go on sale.

          • Well tryndas legendary skin was on sale long while ago

          • The only instance, that we can find, of Demonblade Tryndamere being on sale is in a bundle along the champion by Garena. Legendary skins have only gone on sale in very unusual cases and also a long time ago. For instance, Firefighter Tristana was offered at 20% off once.

  2. Hello Zero, I want to know your opinion please: I want khazix but i dont play enough to get the ip ( last 6300 champ took weeks) and i can spend the rp but i missed the sale :/ . I also want the mecha khazix skin but i didnt own the champ yet (was farming ip to get him) so i lost that sale too. Do you think its worth it to buy the champ and the skin with rp? Sadly because the 2 sales ended not too long ago ill have to wait a lot to get both champ and skin for half the rp… Would you buy it with RP?

    • Purchasing both Kha’Zix and his Mecha skin would cost 2325 RP, well over a legendary skin. That being considered, do you like and would you play Zix enough to make the expense worth it? In the end, it’s not about ratings but about how much value the champion and skin has for you. For instance, if Mecha Kha’Zix would help you regain interest in the game because you are tired of your usual champions and skins then it might be a good purchase.

To be fair, no skin or champion is automatically a bad purchase: it depends on the value you put on it. Some look better than others but the ultimate factor on how much worth a champion or skin has is your personal preference. In conclusion, Zix and Mecha are quite an expensive duo but if you do like them enough and you can afford them then a purchase wouldn’t necessarily be wrong.

Just make sure, that it isn’t a fleeting interest. It would be less than ideal if a new skin, champion or game catches your interest and you end up paying full price for products you won’t use much. Considering the high price and that there’s no time limit to decide you should think it well and make the purchase when you are sure about your decision. There’s no point in rushing and getting disappointed.

  3. Hi, I’d just like to thank you for your reviews. They’ve been a great guide to me in buying around 30 skins.

Mecha Kha’Zix is on sale this week, 675 RP seemed like a very attractive price to me! Do you think this skin offers a lot at this price? I particularly like the taste their fear mark, it is the main reason i would buy this skin.

    Thankyou for your help!

    • Not at all, glad that you find them useful.

At 675 RP Mecha Kha’Zix is a much better option than at full price. The difference with 487 RP is still relevant but, if you like the skin, then now is your chance to get it at a more reasonable expense. Truth be told the skin is good but it owes a lot to the great base it has.

In the end, it’s a nice but expensive skin so the sale is the ideal opportunity to catch the tin bug.

  4. With the new Sand Scourge Kha’Zix skin coming out, I’m not sure if i should buy it. Based on first impressions, do you think it will be a good skin for the 975 price?

    • It seems interesting but we’ll have to wait until it’s released. Whether it’ll be a good buy depends on what additions the skin gets besides the new model. Right now it’s a bit early to make a decision more information is necessary.

      • Sand Scourge lol, Guardian of the Sands* Seems pretty interesting now that it’s out. It looks a bit dull in my opinion, but that’s just me.

        • Well, it seems to be good at what it aims for and the price is rather reasonable. Maybe it doesn’t have the impact of other skins but it comes together rather well.

  5. So with the Snowdown show sale, i was hoping to get a really good discount. Lo and behold, i got 70% Mecha Kha’zik discount (400 RP). Even with the three stars, I really do like this skin cause of all the changes he goes through with his evolution.

Should I go ahead and get it? It seems to be an opportunity i cant miss.

    • It definitely is an opportunity you shouldn’t miss. Our biggest gripe with Mecha Kha’Zix is that it’s a complex skin merely because the Void Reaver is a complex champion. Compare Mecha and Guardian of the Sands and they both have roughly the same features. There isn’t anything that clearly explains the higher price of Mecha.

Given that you can get Mecha with a pretty good discount you shouldn’t miss getting it; if you like both champion and skin.

      • Thanks for the feedback Zero. I did end up getting because, like you said, I couldn’t pass up such a good discount. I’ve been playing him non-stop in poro king and I am really enjoying the skin.

I am a huge mecha fan so that’s why I really enjoy him (Not really into the shurima sand aesthetic).

On a final note, I just want to say I appreciate all the hard work and time your team goes into reviewing the skins for League of Legends. It really has helped me out pick a few skins when I was conflicted.

  6. Hey Zero . I will just ask of what do you think the best mecha skin ?

    • Between the currently available: Mecha Aatrox, Kha’Zix and Malphite we think that the last one is the better done. Each of the Mecha skin is attractive and has some interesting features but only Malphite offers a sufficient amount of changes to justify the 1350 RP price.

Mecha Kha’Zix is complex because Kha’Zix is a complex champion. Mecha Aatrox is a polarized skin as he only truly shines during Massacre. Mecha Malphite manages to offer interesting additions in most areas so he stands out as the best of the Mecha skins as well as quite a good option on its own. Granted, it’s a skin that owes a lot to Glacial Malphite, as it reuses assets from it, but it works in the end.

  7. Hi zero, So I ve been playing khazix a lot in the jungle and i have the Mecha khazix skin and i personally love it, i also have a smurf account becuase my main account got hacked Rip 🙁 Do you suggest i still buy Mecha or guardian of the sands, cuz from skin spotlight the isolation marks looks cool. Im not sure because the model of the guardian of the sands skin isn’t that good. So what do u suggest?

    • Firstly, try contacting support about the hacked account. If it’s valuable to you don’t just let it slip your grasp. Secondly, Mecha is a nice skin but Guardian of the Sands offer almost as much for a lower price. The model is well done for what it aim for but if you don’t like it then there’s little piont in getting a cheaper skin if you actually like Mecha. Both are good skins, but Mecha is expensive for offering almost as much as as cheaper skins.

In conclusion, we would recommend contacting Riot’s support and if you have done so to insist about your hacked account. Secondly, if in doubt, get Kha’Zix skins on sale so that the expense is lower. They are both good but the theme is quite different so it’s better to choose based on which one you like the most.

  8. First impressions on Death blossom Kha’Zix? I’ll probably buy it either way even if I have the 2 others because Kha’Zix is da man, but I’d love to hear some opinions.

    • There’s much to like as the concept fits an insect and the floral theme is attractive. Sadly, we notice some really good areas and others that let down. The skin comes across as rather uneven and also inconsistent at time.

Perhaps it’s not really finished and there’s an extra layer of polish coming. On the other hand, as things usually reach the PBE only to be debugged and to be released as they are we’d advice caution. It’s not a bad skin but we don’t see it exploiting its best aspects as well as it could and should.

  9. Do one for the new skins

    • We have finished Elderwood LeBlanc’s review and it’s just been made available. We’ll wait for Death Blossom Kha’Zix to be released before we finish the review though; but we’ll try to have it reviewed soon afterwards.

  10. Hey Zero
Can you please do Death Blossom Kha’zix skin review because im killing my self thinking witch one would be the best (even though im kinda sure i will get DB kha) so i just wanted to hear you’r suggestion 😀

    • Review ready. The skin is nice but doesn’t convince for the most part. There are some highlights but the changes don’t always make the most of the theme.

  11. IMO, i think deathblossom khazix is the best skin, it may not be the most expensive but with a voice over i could easyly be a 1350rp skin, and i look kind of neets, you know?

    • If you like the floral theme it’s certainly a skin with much to offer. Yet, we do find it a little too restricted in its implementation. We find it looks better in static images than in motion. When in-game it seems to do everything shyly and without staying far from the classic idea; except for the new petals. We agree that it’s a skin that does quite a bit but also the changes aren’t that significant once added all together. Only the petals stand out and that’s a problem. For all it does, the skin ends up amounting to less than it intends or works to achieve.

  12. If mecha kha zix cost 975RP, would you recommend it over the other kha zix skins?

    • Not over but alongside Guardian of the Sands. Mecha is a good skin but a bit expensive for offering, roughly, as much as Guardian of the Sands. It’s a good skin but the theme isn’t developed in whole. It’s far from a bad skin and if you like it then a sale is the time to get it. However, if you just want a good skin for the Voidreaver then Guardian of the Sands offers as much and done well enough.

  13. I believe there is a small typo in the Death Blossom Kha’zix Conclusion in line 21 (Hopefully the lines are the same for you) where you say “The new recall is so unimaginative that is staggering.” I appreciate your reviews a lot, so I figured I’d point this out 😛

  14. Zero…can make a kha zix skin like a ninja?cause its abilities is just a fully ninja style…if it is a ninja skin of kha zix it will be a scrazy things for the world^^

    • That’s not a bad idea. They could approach it in the same way as other anthropomorphic martial artists like the TMNT. There’s potential in the concept as long as they try to make it more than a simple joke. It they approach it with the seriousness of satire there could be something interesting there.

  15. Are you going to review Dark Star Kha’ Zix when it comes out?

  16. Hey Zero shoud i buy death blossom kha skin or dark star , What woud you sugges ?

    • Dark Star Kha’Zix has a more interesting concept but Death Blossom is more original. In terms of quality they are similar as they offer almost as much; but Dark Star more sounds. It’s mostly a matter of taste, neither is a bad skin. Dark Star has a slight advantage but nothing significant to sway the scales. Consider which concept and look you like the most because both are well done.

  17. Hey Zero,
I have two questions for you. In terms of first impressions of the 2018 Kha’Zix Championship skin. The other question, in your opinion, is what is the best champion in terms of skins alone.
    Thanks!

    • Championship Kha’Zix seems good. The model reminds of Death Blossom in shape but as armour. The particles are nice, too. Still, we don’t see anything particularly novel about the skin. We’ll have to give it a proper look to assess all the skin has to offer.

In terms of skins it’s a difficult question. We know there are few champions that have mostly good or better skins but we don’t recall who; they are too many. Kha’Zix is a champion without bad skins, so far. You can check the Skin List and order the ratings to check five star skins.

From a quick look, Nidalee has four skins at five stars, Ashe, Gangplank and Renekton have three five star skins and Alistar, Cassiopeia, Fiddlesticks, Leona, Master Yi and Thresh have two five star skins. There would be also the bad skins which we haven’t checked. In terms of excellent skins these champions, currently, have the most.

  18. Hey Zero,
Mecha Kha’Zix is 50% off this week and I really want a good Kha skin. Would you recommend this skin over the other 1350 RP options?

    • Yes but only if you want more than what Guardian of the Sands Kha’Zix offers; which is almost as much as Mecha. Guardian of the Sands Kha’Zix costs much less and offers only a bit less than any of the 1350 RP skins. If you can get it on sale it’s quite good value.

If we stick to 1350 RP skins Mecha is quite nice. Although there’s a matter on taste with regards to the different themes covered by the skins Mecha has some rather nice changes and the appeal of a robot-based concept. Dark Star follow with a polar approach to the changes and finally Death Blossom which is quite uneven. They have their appeal but Mecha seems more consistent in its adaptation.
